  1. Just back from the game - well, lets face it, we don't usually have much to celebrate after a home game!

Have to agree with all that's been written before, Foran being the standout, and maybe Golly too.

There was nothing between the teams up till the first goal and then we suddenly came to life. Could we maybe come to life a bit earlier next time?

I wonder how it would have ended if Morton had scored first though, which at one stage was quite likely. Not being negative - just adding a bit of balance to the euphoria, which is maybe a bit premature.

Great result though and I'm cautiously optimistic.

  2. This thread seems to be populated largely by angry and abusive young men, so I have this advice to offer.

It's the hormones, lads, and you'll eventually grow out of it, and become pleasant young adults. In the meantime, try to find yourself a nice girl to go out with. That might calm you down! What you really need is sex, but one thing at a time . . .

    :025:

  3. Fans - Check the score on Ceefax and the likes buys a top and reads the odd blog.

Supporters - Buy Season tickets, or just goes when they can, home and/or away who feel they are making a difference to the team...

    I'm an ICT Supporter

Fan is an abbreviation of 'fanatic' so I would expect fans to be a bit more extreme in their support than that!

  4. When things are going well there can be a great atmosphere in Section G, or indeed the whole of the North Stand.

Conversely, when things are not going so well, those in Section G, generally being the most vocal, are most likely to give vent to their feelings, often in the most foul-mouthed manner imaginable.

Don't get me wrong - I'm no prude, and can be pretty fluent myself in certain circumstances, but most people of a more mature persuasion know how far to go.

The trouble with this Section G thing is that the atmosphere is often ruined by silly wee boys who don't know when to shut up. I've seen parents with young kids there who are positively intimidated by the potty-mouthed yobs they find themselves sitting beside.

I'm sure that with a little thought, these young lads could create an atmosphere without necessarily ruining it for all around them.

Sorry - but I'm with the fat-ar$ed lady on this one!

  5. An unmistakable sense of deja vu here.

Remember how we used to have a reputation for choosing exceptionally good managers on a budget?

He's done more damage in Inverness than Cumberland........................was'nt he known as the "Butcher" as well :baby-pram:

    Haha - I like that!

  6. There are members who post at the drop of a hat, and their posts appear on just about every thread.

There are members who only post on subjects of interest to them.

There are members who have a life outside this forum and may go for days, or even weeks without posting, or even visiting the forum.

Also, I'm sure Board Members, players and management feel they are perfectly entitled to post on these forums too - some may even feel they have a duty to do so, or at least to read the various posts to get a feel for the mood of the fans.

I'm not quite sure who "The Muppets" are but I have an idea. Been away too long maybe!

  7. Perhaps "hate" is the wrong word, but for the purpose of this thread I'm happy to use the word to describe teams I love to see getting humped.

Gretna was one, Livingston another and Rangers and Celtic. Used to "hate" Elgin City in the Highland League days but now I will them to win, now and again.

Ross County is a strange one - I used to like them in the old HL days and was quite surprised to discover how much their supporters "hated " us. I suppose, as a result of that, I've gone off them a bit now, but the fact that they hate us and we don't really bother "hating" them is probably a measure of our superiority.

Of course now that we're in the same division as them and may even find that they're promotion rivals, I really do want them to get humped every week.

    But that's different.

    :D

  8. It's much simpler than that.

Scottish football teams fall into just 5 categories:

    1. There's the super-rich teams (Rangers and Celtic) who will always play in the SPL.

    2. There's the big teams (eg Hearts, Hibs, Dundee Utd., Aberdeen, generally from cities of 100,000+ population) who will normally play in the SPL, however, the occasional crisis may see them relegated to Division 1.

3 And the quite big teams - that's us folks, along with the likes of Falkirk, Dunfermline, St. Johnstone, generally from towns/catchment areas of 50,000 - 100,000, which will frequently flit from SPL to Division 1 and back - the SPL/Div.1 bias being generally dependant on the size of the town/catchment area.

    4. The medium teams - pop./catchment area 20,000 - 50,000 - division 1 or 2 (see above)

    5. The wee teams - Division 2 and 3 with maybe the very occasional foray into division 1.

Sorry folks, but that's the rules - don't wish to appear negative or anything, but no amount of singing or shouting is going to change that! :)

  9. There have been times when I was quite impressed with the clarity of the PA system, although the majority of times it's been dire.

I'm no expert in these matters but perhaps some knobs need tweaking! :P

  10. Perhaps you're being unkind Johnboy.

The way I see it, these tennis fans are unhindered by your petty prejudices and in the absence of an English representative at these later stages of the tournament are lending their full support to the boy from their neighbouring nation across the border.

And of course he is the only remaining BRITISH player in the tournament so they are quite rightly supporting him, just as you and me supported Tim Henman in years gone by!

    :D
