  1. I agree. These "Supporters' Trust Statements" seem to be written very impulsively. i wonder if they are the views of one person, or of a group of persons presuming to represent the views of the ICT support. The previous statement welcoming the Seventy7 thing makes me suspect the former. Perhaps the Supporters' Trust could clarify.
  2. Better news. I'm cautiously optimistic this time.
  3. Or maybe he brings tidings of a new billion pound deal he's made on our behalf, with an Arab sheikh who fancies a footie team in the Scottish Highlands!
  4. Yes I think they were a little naive in their urgency to be first with the news, and first with an opinion. Hopefully learnt from all that! And perhaps with increasing membership they will become more of a voice of the fans!
  5. Doubt if anyone is surprised anymore!
  6. With each new revelation, it is becoming harder and harder to continue to support a club which is so morally bankrupt.
  7. It's still there. Like the sticky, stinking something you get on your shoe, and can't shake off!
  8. Really hoped to see something different today - some youthful enthusiasm and a bit of urgency about the play. Up and at 'em. Nope!
  9. LET'S GET PHYGITAL!!!
  10. A new owner could see the Trust as being representative of the supporters, in which case it would be in their interest to get the Trust onside. I like the idea of the Supporters' Trust and see it as a practical route to uniting the fans and giving us a voice. You say it's not representative of everyone, but it seems it's the best we've got at the moment.
  11. This announcement fills me with as much joy and optimism as did the appointment of Scott Gardiner 5 years ago.
  12. . . . . and when they want your money!
  13. Wouldn't be getting too optimistic, but, you never know . . . !
  14. That's not it at all. They are refusing to buy season tickets as a protest against Gardiner's continued presence at the club. They are fully aware that by doing so, they are not depriving him of his wages. Quite simply, when Gardiner leaves the building, permanently, then they will buy their season tickets. He'll have to get a move on though, otherwise I'll be looking at a half-season ticket a few months down the line.
  15. A young Billy Urquhart in that photo too, front row, if I'm not mistaken. Jeff made a fair bit of money in the oil business in Texas, where he now lives. Probably retired now and I'd be surprised if he'd be interested in throwing his pension funds into a football team from which he's got no chance of any return, especially as he's got family to consider. You never know though, some people who go out into the big bad world and make their fortune feel compelled to "put something back" into their home town. He's already hosted ICT on a pre-season tour to USA some time ago so he has history in that sort of thing.
  16. Like with applicants for any job, he'll see what they've got and maybe pick the most suitable one, or two, or maybe three.
  17. When he says, "I don’t know what the problem is, to be honest", he's not being honest at all. Unless of course, he's so oblivious to the views of the supporters of the team he's supposed to be managing, that it just hasn't registered. Or maybe he just hasn't deigned to find out. A clear disconnect.
  18. Well I'll believe it when I see it but sadly don't have much faith anymore in statements like that from the club. If true though, I'd like to think Mark Ridgers may yet rejoin the team.
  19. Perhaps you should read the first sentence again! (Hint: . . . . each of the other clubs . . . . )
  20. I suspect it's because they know the majority of fans won't be happy about the length of his "notice period".
  21. Simple really. WHEN Gardiner leaves, people will buy season tickets!
  22. I respectfully disagree. The fans asked for a few things, including - Transparency, Accountability, Get rid of Gardiner, Get rid of Big Dunc, Recruit more local players. Of these, only the last has happened so far, although I suspect that was more out of necessity than fan pressure. Still, we've got a wee bit of what we wanted! Edit: Oh aye, we wanted rid of the Kelty nonsense. Got that too!
  23. Yes many of us were wary about his appointment. Turned out much worse than even the most pessimistic of us feared!
  24. Haven't seen anything to convince me we're NOT going into administration, or worse! Just ticking over in the meantime, pre-season friendlies etc., until the time is right for the announcement. I do hope I'm wrong.
  25. Carlisle United manager is bragging to the local paper that he saved in the region of £200,000 by picking up Cameron Harper on a free! Carlisle United signing could have cost us £200k says Simmo | News and Star
