  1. TB has some tough decisions to make for trhis one.

Several players this afternoon looked jaded and badly in need of a rest. Morton got a good result today against QoS and certainly won't be a pushover.

    For me....

    Esson

    Tokely Bulvitis Munro Golabeck

    Ross Duncan Sanchez Foran Eagle

    Odhiambo

Allison, Rooney, Djebi Zadi, Hayes, McBain

So you'd bench two of our most important players for our next crucial match??? :D

  2. Strange game. We seemed to be coasting at 3-1, then the defence went to sleep at their free kick, and we lost the momentum then. Munro was woeful I thought, and how he wasn't red carded is something only the ref can explain. He was obviously last man.

We really missed Duncan in the middle, Stratford just doesn't have it. And what the feck was Sanchez doing taking 5 touches before deciding to waste a superb chance to win the game before Foran finally did?

Foran was once again head and shoulders above anyone else, and his winner was just class. He's far too good for this division, so we'd better win it otherwise we've no chance of holding onto him.

Another 3 points closer to the title, didn't look likely after 90 minutes, but these are the results we need to grind out if we're going to win it.

  3. What a night, we ripped them to shreads after the sending off. Got to be honest, from where I was sat in the North Stand it looked an excellent tackle by their defender....but, who cares!!

Foran was my MOTM, just pipping Johnny. His leadership on the pitch is top class and he was constantly shouting at our players telling them what they should be doing. Funniest was when he was gesturing towards Esson, late in the second half, telling him to just stand with the ball and do nothing until a County player decided to go challenge him. Timewasting at its funniest :021:

  4. I agree DavieB. The 1st division has always been a more challenging and exciting league to be in, but unfortunately money talks and the SPL and its TV revenue is where we need to be. Besides i think if and when the SPL expands to 16 or 18 teams then im sure some of the excitement we have seen in the SFL will transfer over to the SPL

Oh, I know we need to be there, no doubt about that. I think it really does illustrate the need for a serious rethink of the structure of Scottish football. An expanded SPL would surely produce more excitement than it does at present.

  5. As much as I'd love us to win this league, and it would be an amazing achievement, there's a part of me that isn't exactly overjoyed with the prospect of being back in the SPL.

This division has been brilliant, and whether we win it or not, the excitement it's produced has been far more enjoyable than the monotony of struggling in the SPL. Some of the football this year has been a joy to watch, and for the first time in several seasons I've really started to look forward to games again. The last few seasons were just dull, the football was awful, and the chances of anything higher than a mid table finish were virtually non exsistent.

And, no, I'm not counting my chickens, I'm just saying that IF we do go on and win the league, I'll really miss the excitement this division produces.

  6. Too many new players thrown in at the start, and lets be honest, some of them just weren't good enough....Tel had the balls to admit this and make changes.

Above all though, we've the best player in the division....Foran, and he's been played in the right role.

  7. Sand-Shoes dropped in favour of Eric - Not sure if that's a good thing or not...

Bad decision I think. We seem to play better when Sanchez is involved, and I've yet to see anything from Eric that has convinced me he brings anything to the team. Watch him go get a hat trick now i've said that....hopefully!

  8. Awful first half. Not sure if the tactic was to just boot the ball as long and high as we could, but that's all we did.

At least Butcher changed it around at half time and we were far better in the second. Dare I say it, but Eagle did well when he came on. Not quite sure how Rooney failed to connect with Eagle's shot that came back off the post, but that was as close as we got. In saying that, that's the poorest I've seen County this year, and other than a flurry at the end they didn't really create anything either.

Eric should've been hooked at HT, and Sanchez brought on. He's too lightweight, his first touch is woeful, and I've failed to be impressed by him everytime I've seen him.

Duncan was my MOTM by a mile. Superb performance from him.

A great point, considering County play Dundee next week. And we've got Foran back now.

I said it before, but I think Dundee are going to drop out of it, and it'll come down to us or County.

  9. This is not a debate about who should play. there are plenty other threads for that. Please stick to the title of this thread.

Um it kinda is since you are saying in your post that he should or will be playing.

If you read some of the papers today you'd see he's the favoured choice to replace Foran. And he has the support of the rest of the team in that.

And he'll have the support, if he plays, of all the fans there.

  10. Hmmmm...rather have Sanchez in for this one if he's fit. He offers a lot more creativity in attack. Nick Ross can get a run out later in the season once we have wrapped the title up! And maybe come into the team more next season.

Yep, Sanchez has to play. No offence Nick, your time will come.

  11. Seeing as Dundee have won only 3 of their 10 away games so far, I don't see why everyone's expecting that form to change. They've looked very ordinary lately and I can see them dropping plenty of points in their last 11 games....of which 8 are away.

Don't think it's a must win game on Sat, a draw would be ok I reckon.

  12. That's 4 times we've played them this season, and 4 times we've been by far the better team. We played them off the park up til the 75th minute, then as soon as Kerr scored you could see them getting a second.

Not sure it's Munro's captaincy we should be questioning, it's his general play. Their equaliser came as a result of Munro giving Harkins all the time in the world to get his shot in.

I really hope, if it isn't us, that Queens or County catch Dundee. I'd laugh my arse off if they didn't get promoted.
