  1. I'm sure they are however for the wages that Draper is likely to be on JR will be able to bring in a couple of extra players in his place much like he has done or is doing now that Boden is off the books. It's a tough one. Do you keep one of the best players at the club and probably someone who is captain material as well to drive the team forward or do you flog them and use the cash freed up to bring in two or three players in other areas where the team needs strengthened? For me, ideally, other players get shipped out, use the money saved to bring in some other faces and keep Draper. But I seldom get what I want
  2. Or an indication of just how badly we need the cash from the transfer and that saved from his wages.
  3. That's a good point (although the amount they received from Boyce was never disclosed and I can't imagine it being close to £1 million). We know County have a fair bit of dosh after the Boyce deal so they can easily stump some more. If we're going to sell Draper then we should take the buying club to the cleaners like the French and German sides do when a minted EPL club bids for one of their players.
  4. Cheers guys. Can't help but feel it's pretty similar to Ryan Christie when Hughes was talking about interest from Celtic. If County match our valuation he'll be off.
  5. That's certainly the hope anyway. Back of the P & J has Robbo allegedly rebuffing another Staggies offer for Draper and basically telling them to make the club an offer it can't refuse for the guy. I say allegedly as I've only seen the headline and can't read the actual story so there may not be any quotes to support the headline.
  6. TBF a lot of the signings Foran had made last summer were generally welcomed by the fans (myself included) as they were the players we needed at the time i.e. strikers, defenders instead of the plethora of midfielders signed by Hughes. Obviously things didn't work out so I'll remain cautions. Regardless, glad to see us making moves to strengthen the playing pool.
  7. Here's a wee ESN video compilation of the guy:
  8. Apparently he's been training with United recently and they are favourites to sign him. Probably just some idle Twitter chat linking him with us for some reason.
  9. Hard to keep track TBF what with all the players they release for so called "personal reasons".
  10. Some chat that we're after Paul Quinn and we've offered him a contract.
  11. Maybe that's what is written in the stars...
  12. Really!? That's even more out of date than my one on P & B
  13. I have signatures turned off. It could be anything for all I know.
  14. #pedantalert There is no such thing as the SPL anymore. It folded 4 years ago.
  15. Found some Villa fans chatting about him on Twitter and saying he was a defender and DM. Sounds like a bit of versatility which is what we need.
  16. None of them have signed yet though Ridgers is imminent and Oakley has been offered a deal. Baird is our only confirmed signing.
  17. Probably waiting for the email to come through with the contract offer. That seems to be our preferred method of dealing with players these days.
  18. This is the market we are in. Young guys who feel they have a point to prove and probably won't cost us the earth whilst they try and achieve some success. Fingers crossed we pick up another Hayes type player for this season.
  19. Lawton apparently hasn't played in nearly two years due to a serious knee(?) injury.
  20. Out of interest, what kind of infrastructure are we talking about here?
  21. So, as Chris says, we've had Josh Meekings find out via Twitter that he wasn't getting a new deal, Duncan Shearer getting an email and voice mail that he wasn't getting a new deal and the club not even bothering to let McNaughton know that a contract offer has been withdrawn. Throw in the laughable season ticket launch and you've got a pretty shambolic 'off season' from ICT. How many more PR mistakes can we make in the space of only a few weeks?
  22. If Boden has even been back in the door since the end of the season...
  23. Meekings is feasible but Dundee wouldn't be able to pay a fee for Draper. Also, Dundee fans have a reputation of being notoriously deluded about their club. See some of the weapons on P & B and their hilarious valuations of their players. Some genuinely thought they could get seven figures for players like Stewart and Hemmings.
