It's all Christie's fault...
Is this possibly what was meant - seems there are more coups than you know what to do with :001: A coup d'état (pronounced /ku de'ta/), or simply coup, is the sudden overthrow of a government through unconstitutional means by a part of the state establishment — mostly replacing just the high-level figures. It is also an example of political engineering. It may or may not be violent in nature. It is different from a revolution, which is staged by a larger group and radically changes the political system through unconstitutional means. The term is French for "a (sudden) blow (or strike) to a state" (literally, coup, hit, and État, state, always written with a capital É in this meaning). The term coup can also be used in a casual sense to mean a gain in advantage of one nation or entity over another; e.g. an intelligence coup. By analogy, the term is also applied to corporations, etc; e.g. a boardroom coup. :024:

Vote of Confidence in Charlie Christie
At the moment we are sitting 9th in the Scottish League system with 33 teams below us all in a worse position (some more than others - naming no names :023: ) and wishing they were where we are now. Quite looking forward to stuffing Gretna next season actually (in the SPL) :025:

I could eventually get the Sporsound page to load but the match link would load but no sound once connected. Then opened it up via the "Listen in Stand Alone Player" link at bottom and commentary is OK :024:

Graham Bayne
I managed to watch the game on Sunday - not easy from Bulgaria believe me - especially when the English League Cup Final is on the same day. I will put my hand up and say that a few years ago I said that Bayne was not up to the job and slowly I have been forced to change my thinking. I thought his performance at the weekend was excellent. He may not be the most skillful of players but his work-rate and attitude are A+ and you cannot ask for more than that. God knows how much ground he covered but his tracking back and closing down was tremendous. And if it wasn't for that pesky power outage I would have had him for first ICT scorer :023:

Can anyone identify this team?
Jock - the gentleman on the far right (Mr MacBean) I have been informed worked in Camerons which if I remember right was at the top of Church Street. I have found out that the confirmation of the names in the photo you posted were all given by the young man to your right :003: Just out of curiosity do you have any others?

Bavidge wins top January award
Bavidge wins top January award Peterhead striker Martin Bavidge has been voted the most outstanding player in the Scottish Football League during January. The 26-year-old former Inverness forward received his Scottish Football League player of the month award after scoring six goals in two games. He followed a double against Cowdenbeath with a four-goal haul in the 5-0 win over Stranraer. Bavidge has already netted three goals in February. BBC Link

SCOTLAND U19s WIN LA MANGA TROPHY Scotland Under 19s will return home from Spain with a trophy in their baggage, having won the La Manga Tournament with a 2-1 victory over Norway today. Having alrady beaten Austria and drawn with Slovakia, the young Scots needed to win the match to be sure of first place, and were shocked in 16 minutes when Roberts put the Norwegians ahead. A strong claim for a penalty for handball was denied, but the Scots did eventually equalise five minutes before half time through Fraser McLaren of Gretna. In the second half, as conditions became difficult because of a strong wind, the Scots stamped their authority on the game and got a deserved winner in 57 minutes from Aberdeen striker Andy Bagshaw. Levski
Something to share: Video of the Levski UEFA Cup matches in season 2005/2006. I went to the home games and the chip against Marseilles (and a distraught Barthez) still looks excellent.... Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKzImfulc28

Favourite Scottish Players
Davie Cooper (1956 - 1995) Davie scored an outrageous and widely remembered goal against Celtic in the 1979 Drybrough Cup Final. Davie received the ball on his chest with his back to goal on the edge of the box and seemingly nowhere to go. Cooper flicked the ball in the air four times with his left foot taking him past four Celtic defenders before putting the ball in the net. This goal was voted the greatest ever Rangers goal ever as voted by worldwide fans. Davie Cooper is remembered as one of the most significant players in the histories of Clydebank, Rangers and Motherwell football clubs. In his eulogy to Cooper, the then Rangers manager, Walter Smith, said that "God gave Davie Cooper a talent. He would not be disappointed with how it was used." Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davie_Cooper Goal: Goal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRO6gyvoO_c...ted&search= Having watched a number of Cooper goals what is clear is that the goal in the Dryborough Cup Final was not a one-off. Where are the players today who can run the length of the pitch twisting and turning with the ball and not afraid to take on 4 or 5 players. Sadly in today's game it is an art that only a few seem to have either the confidence or skill to manage. Would love to see somebody like that at Caledonian Stadium (preferably in the home team).
