  1. Unless they win the league and play off and Sneck has another SPFL side! Now that I would like to see - an Inverness side making it to the Scottish leagues on their own terms ;-))))
  2. I thought that both the centre half partnerships that were used looked ok. Christie and Polworth both kept going and will no doubt feature at some point in the new season. Christies goal was well executed showing good control and awareness to end off a good move. Also thought that Ali Sutherland showed some nice touches and movement when he came on. The most pleasing is that there appears to be a bit of depth in the youth element of the squad and my only concern is that a few of them need to bulk up a bit more to be able to compete in the SPL but I am sure that will come. For Clach I thought Martin Laing had a good game. He covered a lot of ground and was always trying to create things. Overall Clach looked a fairly decent side who tried to play passing football until they just ran out of steam in the last 15 minutes or so. It's been quite a while since I have been inside GSP and it is a tidy little ground now (always was a decent pitch though). Here's hoping they have a decent season in 2013/14 and continue to grow as it is good for Inverness football to have a strong Highland League side.
  3. Hayes also bagged one in the Dons 0-4 win against UCD in Dooblin this evening
  4. Vigurs got Motherwell's first in a 4-2 defeat to Newcastle
  5. If we can keep the bulk of the first team free from injuries then fairly confident we will have another decent season. May be difficult to surpass last season's league finish but you never know might be offset by a cup final appearance this time around.
  6. One of my least favourite sports (I think that was partly due to the BBC coverage of the cricket as an alternative to a test card in the 70s) but I have been to a number of test matches over the years. Can't actually say that I have not enjoyed any of them and at the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne a few years ago I can still actually remember that I watched some cricket although as it was the first phase of a stag party it was never going to a boring day. Cricket though is not a major sport in Scotland but I completely understand why people brought up with it love it so much. Living in Qatar I see a lot of workers from the countries listed in Kirishima's post above who make up the majority of the countries workforce use their Friday mornings, afternoons and evenings in any available space (disused carparks, wasteland etc) playing cricket and then they are back to work the next day. Where I always go for a haircut is run by a Bangladeshi crew and they always want to talk about cricket and if I try to turn the conversation to football they never seem that interested and get it back to cricket. The way I see it is when I was a kid all I wanted to do was play football and talk football and for many billions around the world (Laurence included) they have the same love of cricket. Oh and by the way what the young Aussie kid did was a bit special - only hoped he had got a few more ;-)) you never know he has been moved up the batting order today so maybe lighting might strike twice but it is a tough one to follow. Still won't be watching it though ;-))))
  7. Foran and Warren with the goals
  8. FT Peterhead 2 County 0
  9. ....oh and Peterhead 1 County 0 after an hour or so
  10. The assured money for at least a last 16 spot will help though ;-) ....and one game less in a long season - who knows we may even make a final this year :-)
  11. Once many years ago spent a few weeks preparing a technical report and checked it over many times before we issued it to the client Hampshire County Council. Not until after it was sent to them did we notice it said 'Hampshite Sewage Sludge Strategy' on the cover page. Quite apt really given the content. Fortunately we had only prepared 20 copies ;-)))) Anyway first reports are the boy can actually play a bit and that is all that matters really.
  12. Be aware of the side effects of Absinthe ;-)
  13. A SFA hearing now scheduled for mid July. Not sure that it will bring much more than a slap on the hand but it must be pretty worrying times if you are a Hearts fan. Just where is the money going to come from to keep them operating?
  14. As Jim Bowen used to say "....look at what you could have won"
  15. A better ditty would be "The Thistle and the Eagle" the story of how two small clubs became a big club and how the merger of those two clubs has grown into a bigger conspiracy than The New World Order, Boswell and the assassination of JFK.... Soon to be an ITV mini series....
  16. ....and Citadel. Dissolved not merged.
  17. It's time this thread was merged ;-)
  18. The question is who will be next - could be another bumper season for the lower league clubs if this ends up going down the same road travelled by The Rangers FC plc 2012. Not sure that it will come to that but I am also not sure this is what the men in suits meant when they said one of the aims of changing the scottish football landscape was to provide the lower league clubs with a bigger slice of the money pie. What exactly are the potential scenarios for our maroon friends?
  19. Even dressed like that they strolled to a 3-0 win....bump.... ;-)
  20. Good warm up game to get us prepared for away games against similar opposition like Partick Thistle and Ross County next season ;-))
  21. Nice stadium - mental fans - and a goat ;-)
