Aha. It's on "cooncil telly", so maybe a chance of legitimate live coverage over here !!!

Dont understand why they suggest 16-10-16 ? I havent read too much on it other than the summaries, but I assume the 16 team leagues would be 1H/1A for a total of 30 games? and the 10 league would be 2H/2A for a total of 36? Bit of a nightmare to manage fixtures there, especially if you wanted to establish another cup or something to add a few more games to bring it back up to the same sort of total as there is now. Why not just go for 16-16-16 (or 16-16 + 8-8 north/south regional for bottom tier) and invite in 6 ambitious clubs from the juniors or other leagues? Lets face it, with the exception of Gretna, every team added in the last 18 years has done pretty well, especially ICT and County, and even those that havent reached our heights have done at the very least, no worse than some of the perpetual bottom feeders that have been around for 100+ years ! However, for me, the crucial thing is not the league setup itself, but how we manage the entire game. We need a single governing body. I dont care if its the SFL, SPL or SFA, but they need to merge or two of them need to go. The SFA would be a logical choice for this role as they are the defined governing body for Scotland with both FIFA and UEFA. We need a proper pricing policy for tickets, perhaps with the governing body setting a maximum ticket price for each division. Dwindling crowds and higher prices are both cause and effect for each other. Lower crowds mean higher prices to break even for clubs, but higher prices mean lower crowds .... if we dont reverse that spiral, anything else is irrelevant. We do need to pay heed to UEFA club licensing so we do need to keep certain stadium (and other) criteria, but internally we should be a bit more lenient with clubs. If clubs want terracing in the lower leagues, great, no problem. If they want it in the higher leagues then that should be allowed too, and for those in European competition, that would have to be safe standing areas. Lets encourage clubs to develop their infrastructure, and lets remove the barriers currently in place that mean those aspiring to the SPL have to rush to develop their ground before they have even won D1 .... Give them a full season in the SPL (or equivalent) and allow them to use the increased revenue to help offset that cost. Youth development has to be one of the cornerstones of any new administrative structure. I would not go as far as to say clubs must list 'X' number of U21s in their squad, but every club should have some form of youth development as a clearly defined requirement. For smaller, lower league clubs, it may be something as simple as the club having a tie-in with local schools or youth groups and sending players to coaching sessions or holding them after school. As many players would be part-time, perhaps this could be tied in with the players themselves getting monetary or qualification credits towards recognised coaching credentials as an incentive. For more senior teams, they should have a more organised structure, perhaps their own youth team(s) playing against other club teams (in their area), and for the top tier teams, they should have a fully developed youth structure with multiple teams and ultimately it would be nice for all to have an Academy but that may be a leap. Rather than have the youth teams play and travel at weird days and times, perhaps they could also be scheduled to have a game against the same opposition as the senior side, on the same day and maybe even at the same stadium either before or after the senior match (provided its not a night game and timing is an issue). Not only would this reduce costs for separate travel, but perhaps it would increase the value for money for fans who could watch the youths play included in the price of their ticket, and would also give the youths experience of playing in proper stadia in front of fans instead of at training grounds or local parks. To pay for increased focus on youth, clubs should perhaps consider diverting a percentage of transfer income to this, and the league itself should establish a youth fund to be distributed to clubs on a yearly basis for defined projects in youth development (like establishing an academy). Eventually, the youth setup would be self financing for some clubs as good young players would emerge and be sold on, with some of the money going back into the coffers to develop the next set of youths .... My final suggestion is likely to get a torrent of derision .... but perhaps the league should also consider a salary cap ??? Clubs in each division would have a ceiling they could not go above, and have to manage their squad within that ceiling. Clubs who wish to go above the cap (eg Celtic and Rangers no doubt) would be allowed to do so (within reason) but would have to divert an additional fee equivalent to a significant percentage of that overspend directly to the league. that money would be used to help fund the aforementioned youth development as well as distributed to other clubs as "equalisation" payments ..... levelling the playing field a little bit as it were. My last two suggestions (Youth Development and Salary) come almost directly from MLS. A league which imploded once already and which, this time round, decided to control growth to a slow and steady pace by managing costs and trying to ensure no teams were able to outspend each other to become a dominant force (although LA and NY seem to be allowed to do whatever they want, but thats another story). In MLS you must have an academy or you dont get in. Toronto FC had 6 academy graduates in their squad last year with 2 or 3 of them winning international caps or junior international caps and those same 2 or 3 being regulars in the side on merit. Although player contracts in MLS are owned by the league not the clubs, if these players are ever sold to a team outside MLS, TFC will retain a significant portion of the fee but must use a lot of it for youth development or infrastructure improvements..... Rangers actually paid for TFC to rip up the original artificial turf at BMO Stadium and replace it with grass ... all from the proceeds of the sale of Maurice Edu to them ! In terms of salary, the MLS system is hard to fathom, but there is a cap and you cannot go above that. you can sign up to three 'designated players' above the cap with only $350,000 counting towards your cap and the rest being paid by the club (Beckham and Thierry Henry both get about $5m for example and even Barry Robson got $600K for half a season) but if you do sign a third DP, then you also have to pay a substantial fee to the league that is distributed to clubs where the owners may not be so rich and cannot afford to pay for high salary DPs ... an equalisation payment in other words. Seems to work here, so with a bit of tinkering, perhaps it could be one of the checks and balances Scottish Football could use to get itself back on its feet again ?

"I've got a feeling" that the conversation went something like this ..... Director: " I said to you before the game "Don't Let Me Down", but you were a "Bad Boy" Willie: ""I Should Have Known Better", but from my "Matchbox" after "A Hard Day's Night" all I did was "Act Naturally" Director: sorry Willie, but "All Things Must Pass", and we have to say "Hello, Goodbye", you are now as "Free as a Bird", "Because", "You Can't Do That" Willie: "Surely "We Can Work It Out", "Ask Me Why" Director: "That'll Be the Day", "Tell Me Why" Willie: "Because", "You Like Me Too Much" Director: "Don't Bother Me", It is just "A Day in the Life" "Across the Universe" Willie: Och well, "I'll Be on My Way", you were "Bad to Me" and now I am a "Nowhere Man", what "Misery" Director: "Madman" !! Of f*** "Here Comes the Sun", wish I was "Back in the U.S.S.R."

Broke Hearts leave Inverness Heart Broken They may be in poor condition off the park, but they played with plenty of fight on the field of play and deservedly took a point back to the capital, albeit with a dubious penalty scored by captain Marius Zaliukas after Owain Tudur-Jones had opened the scoring with a thunderous strike from thirty yards. Inverness passed up a great opportunity to hit the top of the table by crumbling meekly against a Hearts side desperately trying to avoid the same fate as The Rangers. An impeccable minutes silence ahead of remembrance day was observed by all as the fans readied themselves for what should have been an entertaining afternoon. It did, however, turn out to be a frustrating day for Inverness supporters as the Jambo's turned the tables with a late sucker punch. Supporters from both sides offered their predictions before the event As expected, Richie Foran was the only change Inverness made with Ross Draper being out injured and the visitors started with Sutton and Driver on the bench. To be honest, this was as scrappy a game as has been witnessed at the Caledonian Stadium this season with neither side able to string too many passes together, and don't get me started on throw-ins, more like throw-aways, as far as Inverness were concerned. The telly viewers were able to dissect this match in full as Inverness stuttered their way around the park. Gone was the free flowing football of late and an unwelcome return of the longer ball was evident as the match wore on with the midfield being bypassed as Hearts tenacity won the day. Inverness did start bright enough, or should that be right eenuff, and had the better of the opening exchanges but nothing of note happened in the first quarter, that was until Jones stepped in to score his first goal for the club. Andy Shinnie did well along the edge of the box holding onto the ball before laying it off to McKay who played it back to Shinnie. With the Hearts defence blocking his path, he rolled the ball back to Owain Tudur-Jones who took a touch before unleashing a ferocious curling shot from thirty plus yards that flew high past a diving MacDonald in the Hearts goal for a fantastic first goal for the Long Man. Unfortunately, that goal was about it as far as Inverness were concerned as we handed the initiative back to the visitors soon after, although Billy McKay dragged a shot wide from the edge of the box after he jinked his way into a shooting position. Just before the break, MacDonald pulled off a decent save as Foran looked to extend the lead with a placed drive from distance, the keeper pushing his effort to safety. Hearts had not threatened in the first half apart from a shot from Stevenson that Reguero needed the assistance of his chest to deny the number 7, although the warning signs were evident as they were gaining the upper hand in the midfield battle without being able to penetrate the Inverness back line. Half Time 1-0 The warnings were not latched on to by the Inverness tacticians and Hearts dominated the second half, but again without causing too much concern for Reguero and Co. Andy Shinnie almost doubled our advantage after 55 minutes bursting into the box after a neat exchange with Doran but the keeper brilliantly beat away his angled drive and Jones felled Zaliukas when the rebound fell to him on the edge of the box. However, it was now beginning to look like just a matter of time before the Jambo's would get the breakthrough, the fact that it took so long was the only surprise. Paterson had been interesting throughout, but it was his diving that caught the eye in the last minute of the game. He went down very easily as Jones stuck a leg in his direction and he had no hesitation in hitting the deck, referee Collum falling hook, line and sinker for it. After some confusion as to who would take the kick, captain Marius Zaliukas stepped forward and sent Reguero to his left, the ball unfortunately going to his right and a not undeserved equaliser, although the manner in which it was acheived was somewhat shabby. Full Time 1-1 Inverness will be kicking themselves after blowing another lead where three points turned into one, but have only themselves to blame after a jaded looking performance where stringing passes together seemed to be too difficult for too many players on the day. Credit to Hearts for sticking to the task and getting their just reward. tm4tj Man of the Match:- Easier to say who would not be in with a shout for the award, however the back line were pretty solid and David Raven seems to be a different person from the one that arrived in August, and for this and recent performances he gets my vote. Moan of the Match:- this award goes to whoever thought it was a good idea to sell cup tickets immediately after the final whistle. This led to the North Stand emptying quicker than the Marie Celeste before the end of the game.......meh! if nothing else, their officials and players will surely be in turmoil and perhaps not mentally prepared for Saturday ..... I don't like to see players, staff and fans suffer for the actions of those who make these types of decisions in respect to taxes (even 'most' Rangers ones) ... but as an ICT fan, I hope we can take full advantage of any lack of preparedness on the part of HMFC

as much as we would really like to get another one over the shadow dwellers, this is a tough tie against another SPL team .... confident Terry and the boys can get a result, but by no means a foregone conclusion !!!

Doesn't sound like a thing Dennis would do !
Scotty replied to gordieict's topic in General Football
Did he attack anyone? That has yet to be proved. I believe CaleyD was merely quoting the article in the original post ... The headline of that article, quoted verbatim was " Elgin City footballer arrested after 'attack on former teammate' " The first para then says the same thing but adds "allegedly" into it .... but you are correct, although this alleged 'attack' is public knowledge courtesy of the media, it has yet to be proven in a court of law. -
oh dry yer eyes Chizzer. As mentioned elsewhere, our editorial team always produce tongue in cheek articles. This is not the official site, it is a fans site, and we encourage the fans to get involved with fanzine style articles. This particular article is neither offensive, nor bigoted - consider yourself lucky you are not Ross C*unty !!! (PS: only 1 G in bigot, unlike the EBTs - allegedly [that was humour too in case you wonder - hence the tongue in cheek smiley]) Want the official preview which is far less humorous, but nonetheless interesting? here it is: http://ictfc.com/matches/previews/674-preview-rangers-v-ict-scl-cup As to the other points you raise in your post and comments on the front page: We dont hate Rangers, they are largely irrelevant to us as fans. Sure, their demise - at the hands of those in (financial) charge at Ibrox over many years rather than officials or fans of any other club - affects our club financially, but like the others, and like the new owners of your club, we have to suck it up, move on, and do the best for our own club ..... Your unintentional irony is also not lost on me .... you talk about us not respecting a team 3 leagues below us in the article comments on the front page, then mention our "little club" like your patting us on the head ... pot and feckin kettle dont you think !!!

As this is a matter before the courts, please be careful of comments .... but yes, I agree , it does sound out of character from the Dennis we know/knew from ICT. -
according to Robbo, Andy Shinnie having one of 'those' days ... and not in a good way !!! puts penalty at least 3 yards over bar, then from 3 yards oud misses by even more !!!!

Something did give We mentioned in the preview that something has to give, and it did. Both sides lost their winning streak as the village side from Perth snatched a last gasp point with a piece of agricultural play from the foot of keeper Mannus. His long punt forward in the dying embers of the game saved Gregory Tade's boast about his new employers, as his replacement David Robertson netted a soft equaliser to level Billy McKay's opener. They came in numbers from the farming community around the lowland town which became Scotland's seventh city in 2012 with ex-Inverness forward Gregory Tade extolling their virtues and no doubt giving false hope to his followers. At the end of the ninety three minutes Mr Tade was nowhere to be seen, possibly still inside Josh Meekings' pocket, his presence more noticeable for his absence throughout the ninety minutes. The first blasts of winter descended on the Highlands as snow caused havoc on many of the higher routes around the area and the game was played out in Baltic conditions, not a great day for brass monkeys it has to be said. With both sides on winning runs, it was always going to be a tough decision to call, as is sometimes the case with these games, the expectation is greater than the game itself, and this was apparent here as both sides cancelled themselves out in the first forty-five. Inverness started with the same side that trounced Dundee last week and St Johnstone were unchanged from their encounter with Kilmarnock. This meant that Ryan Esson was on the bench and Richie Foran remains injured, possibly for up to another month. Inverness started brightly and pressed forward from the start, but Meekings made his only error after six minutes when a long through ball escaped him and allowed Gregory Tade to run in on goal. The away fans thought this was to be their moment, but the home fans knew better as Reguero did well to grasp the ball after it bounced off Tade's shin and kept the score at nil-nil. He did have another glorious chance to score with a header after half an hour from six yards as he rose highest in the box, but he nodded it over the bar when he should have made the keeper work. There endeth the bold Tade's involvement in the game. Reguero was more fortunate after Rowan Vine lashed a shot goalwards from the right edge of the box but it bounced downwards off Reguero and then up over the bar for a narrow escape for the Spaniard. It was mostly all cat and mouse in the first half and while the visitors enjoyed plenty of possession, they had no cutting edge and David Raven was so under exerted that he managed to forage forward and try a couple of long range efforts but to no avail. Inverness had gone back into their shell somewhat and were offering St Johnstone the ball at every opportunity but they did not know what to do with it and gave it back to us; and so it continued up to half time with our only attempt of note being a Draper header that was easily gathered by Mannus. Half Time 0-0 The second half begun in the same manner and little of note happened before Fraser Wright left the field with a nose bleed, and Hasselbaink shortly after. His replacement was due to his lack of success against the Inverness back four. David Raven was having one of his best games for Inverness, especially going forward, and there were no takers as he fizzed a dangerous ball across the box, but the action was about to warm up in the seventieth minute. Aaron Doran played a neat reverse ball into the box and Graeme Shinnie was second favourite to get on the end of it, but a tremendous burst of pace saw him get there ahead of Vine who tripped him as he burst through, and picked up a booking for his troubles. No doubt about the award but plenty of doubt about the strike from Andy Shinnie as he blazed it high over the bar, an effort that would have looked good at Murrayfield, but not at the Caledonian Stadium. The ball ended high at the rear of the stands as the fans vented their frustration and searched for the ball in row ZZZ. Shane Sutherland was introduced for the ineffective Roberts and like last week, this move paid dividends. Some intricate play on the edge of the box saw McKay being played in by Draper and he whistled a great strike below and behind Mannus from the left side of goal to put Inverness ahead. From that point on, there looked to be only one winner as Inverness pummelled the Perth goal. Tudur-Jones took time off from dictating the play to get a shot away but it was charged down by the now desperate Saint's defence and Billy McKay almost doubled the advantage as he turned neatly in the box on the right side to curl a shot goalwards with his left foot. Unfortunately for him Mannus dived full length to prevent a goal as Inverness turned the screw. A sporadic break forward almost produced a goal for St Johnstone but Reguero guessed right and threw himself at the feet of the Millar to prevent an equaliser. It was only a matter of time before Inverness stretched their lead as they burst forward in a throwback to the Pele era and Andy Shinnie almost atoned for his penalty miss. Jones outjumped Tade to nod the ball to the far post where Andy Shinnie lurked, however, he contrived to lash the ball over the bar from a couple of yards when it was easier to score. An unbelievable miss which would come back to haunt the Inverness team on Halloween. Aaron Doran had been woken up by the sudden Inverness activity and he was unfortunate to see a whipped shot narrowly miss the keepers right hand post. Shinnie's misery was complete when he thrashed another effort just over the bar from twenty yards for what would have been a spectacular goal and he was replaced soon after, but not before the now invisible Gregory Tade had left the field. He had been missing for most of the match, outplayed by young Josh Meekings. As the clock ran down Liam Craig lifted a shot over the bar to keep Inverness ahead for now, but those misses were going to take their toll before the end. Doran was strangely adjudged to have committed a foul deep into stoppage time and from the resultant free kick a long ball was launched into the Inverness box from eighty yards away by keeper Mannus. It bounced high to the back post where Tade's replacement David Robertson sneaked in uninvited behind the defence to head the ball past Reguero for an undeserved equaliser with barely fifteen seconds of the additional three minutes left to play. Full Time 1-1 This felt like a defeat after dominating the latter stages of the second half with so many excellent opportunities to put the game beyond the big team from Perth, alas we were caught out by a hopeful ball into the box and a point each it was. tm4tj MotM:- Owain Tudur-Jones was immense in the heart of the midfield spraying balls all over the park. He has the look of a great player, always appearing to have time to control and play the ball as though he was having a kick about with the kids on a Sunday afternoon down the Bught. He was closely followed by Meekings who put Tade in his place and Warren and Draper who had fine displays once again. Reguero will take some shifting from between the sticks and Esson may need to sit on the bench a bit longer. tm4tj Moan of the Match:- Andrew Shinnie had a great game until it came to putting the ball in the opposition net. The penalty miss was a bad one, but the miss from a few yards out was much much worse and although we didn't know it at the time, it was one that was going to prove crucial to the outcome of this game. My second moan was the poor home attendance. What more do the Inverness public want. Scoring goals every week, top scorers in the SPL, only two defeats in eleven games and still general apathy reigns supreme. Come on folk, get off yer erses and get behind yer local team, we are playing as attractive football as we have since Butcher came to Inverness, but that is seemingly not enough to tempt the stayaways out of the pub or away from the Xmas shopping.
