  1. Maybe Caleyjagsforever could add this topic at their next meeting it's all very well admitting the chants were offensive but without action the problem won't go away

A closer working relationship with the club and the authorities should help weed out the troublemakers

I blame movies like football factory and green street, school children are easily lead and they think that kind of behaviour is sadly acceptable

    Dougal

Well said Dougal ...then maybe this thread wouldn't have been in vain.

  2. Im sorry Davie but I cannot accept that as a reason for Police not stepping in .It was so offensive

I don't believe they needed anyone to spell it out to them. Im not sure that Richard Brittain or his wife

would agree with you that it's not personal .Please do not try to make excuses for these yobs

You are comparing us to Man Untd and Man City please keep in mind it was Highland Derby

.quote name="davie" post="405409" timestamp="1396725345"]Police probably didn't step in because no one complained that they found it offensive at the time. I would have found it so, but would have taken the IHE line and robustly asked them to desist. There is a long history of this type of chant, from Man City fans mocking Munich, Man Utd fans mocking Hillsborough to songs about Tommy Burn's cancer and Norrie MacAthie of Dunfermline's death. They are calculated to provoke and prompt a reaction from opposing fans, and there's nothing personal with regards to Mr Brittain's wife in this. Depression is a serious illness, but these laddies don't see that. It ain't funny, it didn't provoke a reaction and your fellow fans abhor it. So just stop it.

Izzy, I'm sorry if you accidentally misread what I was saying, but a couple of points. I have made it clear that I would have found this offensive and acted (as I have previously done). You must also realise that the police will only act if there has been a complaint in this respect. It seems there was none. The teams that you think we bear no comparison to are football teams who have fans as well, of all types who can be offensive as well.. I have a long background as a professional in mental health, and find your (erroneous) implication that I would minimise the effects by "making excuses" a bit - to quote you - offensive.

I did not mean to offend anyone Davie and I apologise if you have been offended .I take your point about the Police and had I been closer I would have said something .I can't imagine how offended Richard Brittains wife feels and its her I was speaking up for . I too have worked in Mental Health Davie and this is why I feel so passionate about it.

Reading OTB there are fans on there stating how there are a few of our fans going to get our club into trouble with that particular song.

I hope I have explained myself and my apology is accepted, but my views on the original post does not change.

  5. But I would take the responsibility becos I am one of the most law abiding, politically correct, mature and righteous individual in our support.

Me too :)).... There was plenty Police and Stewards beside them why can they not step in .

They need to be named and shamed and they may think twice next time .someone knows who they are.

They are a disgrace to the club.

  6. The content of the song is very difficult to look past .Its an individuals opinion .

This took the shine of an otherwise brilliant night and the fans were exceptional

best atmosphere for weeks .The result was the icing on the cake

I agree we must not let a few idiots spoil the occasion but their idiocy and ignorance

    should be dealt with.

  7. I agree totally with Frizzle I was near enough to hear exactly what was being sung and it was absolutely disgusting also Richard Brittain was within earshot and responded with a thumbs up gesture to these numbskulls. It was embarrassing to be associated with them.

Anyone who is flippant about this is no better than these idiots .Ok it was only a few but enough to be heard and in my view one is one too many .

There have been ill judged songs before but to aim at someone with the problems that Richard Brittains wife has is as about as low as you can stoop .You know who you are and you can all hang your heads in shame.

  8. To the OP: I'm sorry that you feel that way about there not being a bus running to Motherwell. As has been said elsewhere, there were 6 provisional bookings which would have netted CJT £90 (It's us who run the buses) and a minibus would cost at least three or four times that. If we can't create demand, we can't run it. It's simple maths.[/quote

Thank you for your reply Davie and you're right it doesn't take a mathematician to work out that you obviously cannot afford to put on a

bus for 6 . Although it doesn't change my way of thinking and I know Im not alone with my thoughts ,we can only hope the Team come

home with a win to cheer us up .

  9. If I go I'll have to drive it as the public transport is limited post-match. It's also on BBC Alba 'as live' from 2200.

    Tickets priced at:

    ADULTS: £22 / £18

    CONCESSIONS: £15 / £14

    JUVENILE: £12 / £9

    FAMILY: £28 / £24

I know it's on TV but not live .Yesterdays game was live on T V but it didnt stop thousands of fans coming out

to support team. Sitting watching it on TV two hours after KO is hardly support.

Just what does this team have to do ???????????

Sorry for rant but just saying it as I see it !!!!!

Yesterday was a Sunday with lots of options to get there by public transport, most of them returning by 10 p.mish.. Motherwell is on a Wednesday night with no options of that. Most of us will have to work on Thursday morning which is not very nice when you come home around 2 p.m.. Most of us have to look how to pay mortgage, food, insurances etc., many for a whole family. This won't be made easier if they get sacked from their jobs for not meeting expectations because they run off to a footie match during the week. So I can fully understand that few will take the trip down from Inverness. But I'm sure that the central belters will be there and make the club proud with their support!

Rainbow if you read my post properly you would see that I put in a nutshell what you just came back at me with.

I just cannot not believe that out of the thousands yesterday we cannot fill a mini bus .

I've made my point and now Im going to leave this topic here as I don't particularly like where its going.

  11. Very disappointed and saddened to hear no transport to game on Wed night at Motherwell. I realise

money is tight for a lot of people but out of the the thousands of supporters yesterday I would like to think

we could at least have managed to fill a mini bus for an important league game.....The team deserve better

than this ,we are out of the cups now so we need to support them to get as high up the league as possible

    Im actually quite disgusted .

It was a very good fun trip enjoyed by All, and in very good company.

Thanks again and look forward to the next one

  14. Public loads of thanks to Caley D for this. For anyone who books from now on, you won't be on the list. John will simply tell you which bus you are allocated to. Thanks to everyone who is travelling and remember we leave at 07:00 on Sunday, so have a bit of patience when you get there - we'll all be half asleep!

Hope that doesn't include the drivers !! :))

  15. I'd been apprehensive of the looming mid-season window fearing the loss of one or more key players like McKay, Vincent or Draper. But it looks like we'll be 'unscathed' - big boost ahead of Sunday.

(Mind you, the final day's often when there's most transfer activity!)

Not over till the fat lady sings ...but sounds as if Yogi has locked the door !!!

  16. Not exactly an easy sell to make to a player.

"Fancy coming up to Inverness for a few months with almost zero chance of playing regularly as Billy is our first choice? Oh, we don't have a Nandos by the way."

OR....Fancy coming to a lovely city like Inverness and joining a team of hard working genuine boys with the prospect of becoming our No 1 scorer.. SOLD ?????

  17. I think Hughes will go with

    Brill

    Tremarco

    Meekings (Devine if he's injured)

    Warren

    Raven

    Draper

    Shinnie (at CM)

    Watkins

    Doran

    Ross

    Mckay

I'd like to see Tremarco dropped, with Shinnie replacing him at LB... freeing up a space in CM for Tansey. I really hope we don't end up with a bench full of CMs (one or more of Foran, Polworth, Vincent, Tansey will have to sit out)

Why Tremarco Ive been at every game and haven't seen him have a bad one yet ?????

  18. Dont be so fickle you negativiteers!

It isn't Hughes who is missing the chances made, The team is playing well enough to win most times. We are back in the missing chances mode as we were at times under Butcher so I say lay off, get off the manager's back and support the Club's decision.

Also don't be so fickle he was a hero last week remember.

What happened to togetherNess or were you never part of it ???????????

Agree with all above plus he has just got his assistant so for a God sake lighten up and get behind them .

All teams have off days and our usual pattern after a bad result we come out all guns blazing...

    Looking forward to Sun.!!!!
