  1. just goes to show what a team prepared to have a go can do...............congrats to Brew and his players As that was my first ICT vs Old Firm clash, would I be correct in presuming they are always that enjoyable? Thought so
  2. ahh, I understand all about glory-hunters having seen the Utd fans pouring up the M6 from Devon and the Home Counties for years Old Firm = ManU is something warming to the heart, everyone needs someone to hate Lets f#ck em today
  3. enlighten me here...as I'm only recently returned to the country of my birth...games against the old firm....? Do other SPL teams treat them as a cup final and have a go, or accept the least battering they can get away with? I've been to a few old firm derbies, but not games involving one of them and another non-old firm team. Down south bigger teams tend to inspire smaller clubs to take them on. City when they were in Div 3 had 46 cup finals as other teams tried to take their scalp. I got that impression when ICT did that number on Celtic (Caley Thistle go ballistic....). but is that normal (the having a go. not necessarily beating them!)?
  4. Realistically can't see the Tics not scoring, but I reckon 2-1 to ICT...... :024: ICT are on a roll right now, no reason why it can't continue...... :023: Btw......Brew needs to borrow some defenders in Jan.....got a couple at City who would do a great job till the summer. Shall I call in a favour and get the subject broached at City?Failing that anyone got Brew's email addy? :001:
  5. ..mainly cos of the program title, 'Cunntas', and some young oik had a dig at ICT Said he'd just moved to Inverness from somewhere remote and ''at least we have a decent football team....<long pause>...and Caley Thistle'' Presume a Clachnacuddin fan?? He needs educating. This isn't such a big city, should be easy to find....about 21, ginger and with lots of spots
  6. 6 points....doesn't happen often, I'm just making the most of it :023:
  7. fantastic day......both my teams won couple of bevvies in Innes bar before caley thistle held onto a lead, then Citteh scored a last minute belter against Reading.... it makes the whole weekend, wish it happened more often
  8. just need to scrap for points till Jan, then see what Brew can do (if he has anything to do it with).....jury out until then very few teams at the arse end of the table can play their way out of trouble, points will do over performance till New Year
  9. c'mon stop shilly-shallying about, tell us what you really think........ :014:
  10. too soon for Brew to go he has to have until the end of Jan to prove what he can do imo chopping and changing managers doesn't work (unless Mourinho fancies a trip north)

    Pies

Mmmmm...chicken balti pies, just what you need when it's a bit chilly. They've had them at Man Citteh for a few years and they always sell out first. Made by Hollands Pies of Oldham I think.
  12. where's any good near the stadium? ta only ever caught a taxi before
  13. ....just a bit of a punt.... If anyone could suggest a place for a regular booking, and there's enough who'd fancy a kickabout.....would it get off the ground? I'd do what I can to sort it out.. [bear in mind I'm older than Brew though, so it'd have to be 'of a certain level']
  14. any in the Inverness area require old codger to make up the numbers? ICT and Ross COunty are not acceptable answers :003:
  15. Ferguson at least put the effort in, but needs someone younger like Scott Brown to do his running maybe?
  16. that was back to the bad old days Fletcher should have been dragged off, Miller had upped his tally of touches to control the ball into double figures, Weir shows his age at times............trouble was the subs were no better Has Boyd ever run more than 5 yards for the ball? Beattie about a stone overweight... Scotland play better when they play at pace, we aren't a team who can sit back and knock it around Not McCleish's fault imo....absences showed the lack of depth in the squad ....back to the league... :009:
  17. aye, and as there's room in the West Stand they can do the okey-cokey
  18. not sure I shouldn't be posting this in the non-ICT section, but maybe the thoughts are relevant to the standing/not-standing issues at ICT Having been a Man City ST holder for nearly 25 years (I'm moving back up north v. soon) the move to the new stadium in Manchester gave the club stewards an excuse to stop the fans standing during matches (from a fans point of view that meant ruining the whole game). At Maine Road we could pretty much do what we wanted short of throwing things onto the pitch. The whole North Stand stood up for the whole game, apart from the away fans when they were losing. At Eastlands there were initially problems with the atmosphere as the 34,000 fans were dispersed into a 48,000 seater stadium, add in 14,000 'new fans' who didn't know the songs and it was all a bit flat. The noisier fans started to congregate behind the south goal and started standing up whilst singing...it took the club a mere month to start banning fans who were collared by the stewards for standing. Apparently it 'ruined the atmosphere for some fans'. Load of bollocks. We even had whole rows of fans banned because some were caught standing. It has only been partly resolved by fans reps meeting the City Board, and the club somehow managing to overlook council regs about standing in stadiums. To date no-one has been hurt because of standing, those offended(??) can move, and the atmosphere has come back. It took serious threats of boycotts to bring the club to their senses. The trouble is if you put a stewards luminous jacket on someone they start to act the role. The club has to tell them to think twice before wading in. Problem being that in a crowd of 4,000 it's easier to pick out fans, on the plus side it doesn't take so many boycotting to bring them to the club to their senses. Personally, I'll do my best to fill a space or two in the North Stand, make a bit of noise...and blame Lord Justice Taylor and scouse fans for the seats in the first place....
  19. p'raps the drugs were a ruse to distract attention from the Genesis tickets lying on his back seat? :023:
  20. Bayne 1-0 !
  21. Must admit when I was last up I had trouble finding somewhere that still stocked ICT shirts (XL req'd), the club shop had run out. As someone of 44 who still plays I wouldn't have minded bunging ?30-?40 to the club to spread the word + being at the edge, as it were, Caley shirts have a certain cudos in England... Someone is missing a marketing ploy
  22. Corradi is ok, you don't get 10 caps for Italy being crap... The service and support he got last season was no-existent. (who is your Corradi then?)
  23. aye, ok I know some arabs fans who treated him as a legend....till he managed them obv. ok if I bring Paul Dickov with me?
  24. nowt wrong with Moss Side........long as you don't have to live there! besides.......City moved and manged to find a buit of Manc actually rougher than Moss Side Should be up there in a month or so, any (decent) boozers near the ground? Didn't remember seeing any nearby. How are your pies?
  25. Hi folks, you're getting another fan.... Moving up from Manc soon, dinnae worry I'm no white settler I'm Scots born-family from Drumnadrochit, can't cope w/out live football so I'll be going to see Caley. 40 years supporting Man City have prepared me for all the disappointment football can throw at you. Just don't beat the crap out of anyone with a Manc accent....I'm on your side I always thought Brewster would be welcomed back as the returning hero, but seems some didn't want him. What was up? Gav
