  1. 2 questions for Butcher? ok 1) Terry, I've got chills and they're getting worse. In fact, I'd say they're multiplying. Allied to this, I'm losing control. What would you do in this situation Terry? Should I shape up? 2) Can I have a game for ICT? (or at least join in training?)
  2. you'd have thought the Northern constabulary would have noticed someone walking past with several acres of turf, but then they can't even catch the culbokie road rats when they have a sign outside on of their houses! If, as seems to be the case, ICT are relaying the pitch for next season....why don't they build a slope into the right-back areas so that Tokely will always be running downhill when chasing nippy left-wingers?
  3. it's a start...good luck!
  4. to be honest I struggle to understand why Ferguson has been so highly rated for do long. He's never been anything more than a run of the mill midfielder in my eyes. At 31 he wsn't going to get any better. Time to blood some younger players...but where do we find them! (I'm available obv. - and having never had any pace I haven't lost any)
  5. Just ?18m would give the season ticket holders free tickets for a season... the ?5 has had the desired effect, should be a full-house of 48k for the home leg
  6. How are the club going to benefit from a 25% increase in crowds only paying 25% of current prices ? I dont really know :thumb04: Perhaps if we made it ?5 only for really obese people, they'd make up the extra income through pie sales? I can see it now, every row in the north stand must have 2 additional fatties, but they'd have to go at the end of the rows obviously
  7. I know, I'm going down for it and to Hamburg (where I understand they do sell beer) for the away leg too! The reason City have dropped the prices is simply to get the crowd numbers up, it's a big stadium (48k seats) and if it's half empty the atmosphere is crap. Can't have the away fans making more noise than the City fans can we? Having said that the away fans in Europe (esp. the Danes and Germans) do very passable impersonations of British football songs, so if you hear 'We're sh#t and we know we are' sung in English it's probably the Hamburg fans.
  8. Good luck, I had an interview and they didn't even respond to let me know they'd chosen someone else....rude f#ckers! After a couple of fruitless attempts to get something more secure (and permanent), I'm going self-employed again (did it a few years back and it was quite enjoyable)....( I do I.T. Support). Got the Co. name, got the website underway, even got some clients!! Big question is which ICT player should I sponsor first?
  9. all the advice in this post is good, have used it whenever I've needed to in the past. The comments about keeping positive are so true So having just finished a contract, if anyone knows a place that needs I.T. staff......I'm available! Good luck RIG Cheers Gav
  10. I wish they could get Michael Johnosn as far as the bench. He's a talented lad but doesn't seem in too much of a hurry to recover from a groin injury - my spies in Manc tell me he's out on the town all the time. Gelsen is a headless chicken and won't be there long. City are being overrun by physically bigger teams. Apart from Given, Dunne and Kompany there aren't any regulars over 6 feet. We'll be ok this season but I fear the owners will replace Hughes in the summer...though I hope they don't.
  11. Sneck has the same problems attracting players and managers that regional towns and cities in England have. Sunderland are always complaining that they can't get players cos their wives like shopping in London...but then if you've seen Sunderland you'd know why Apart from the feeder club in Dingwall, maybe ICT should go for the cream of the crop of world clas s young players on Skye.....
  12. how about 'Russell Osman made you look good' ?
  13. well the deal's off...just rec'd this from someone at City: 'Talks with Bosco (Kaka's dad) went well in terms of City's ambition. Further talks then took place with Milan and hey ho they wanted more money. And that my friends is the time it all ended. Feeling of deep frustration from City that we never got to speak to Kaka So in sum total Milan have just taken a ?91m gamble and failed if it makes you feel better' oh well.....wonder if Barrowman's available for ?100m
  14. well it's taken time but finally the ICT board have done the one thing Hearts will have been hoping they wouldn't do. 7 points out of the next possible 9 anyone?
  15. why all the thanks? Does he read this board??
  16. Hughes makes ?15m bid for pint of Stella Mark Hughes has launched an astonishing ?15m bid for a pint of Stella at the Stonemasons Arms in Altrincham, sources revealed today. 'Mark comes in here quite often' said landlord Bill Spiggs, 'usually it's a quiet drink with friends, but today he came in with a well-dressed older Italian gentleman and was determined to spend millions of pounds.' Regular punters were shocked and dismayed at the implications of Hughes' unseemly display of wealth. 'If that's the way things are going we're all going to be priced out of drinking at the Mason,' complained retired plumber Dan Oldwick. 'We've already had a well-known county cricketer in here this week splashing out ?20,000 for Smokey Bacon crisps. It's disgusting in this economy when that kind of money could be given to starving children in Africa, or on a new dartboard.'
  17. I've heard from someone at City that the deal should go through Mr Brewster, that means that Darius Vassell is spare.......
  18. [City (and ICT obv) fan] I couldn't agree more about the obscene money, however Keanu Reeves got ?75m for making a crappy film recently in which he was crap....taking the view that it's an entertainment business (yes, sometimes it is) then whatever they pay players is on a par As for wanting to go back to Peter Swales days as chairman......I've been there it wasn't pretty so no thanks...although Big Mal could spin a good tale in the pub over a couple of bottles of shampers
  19. I reckon the fee (?100m) would provide free season tickets for all the City fans who currently go for 6 years Ticket prices down there are a scandal. It's not the danger of the possible transfer putting City fans prices up but the other clubs charge City fans more for away matches. The other year I was faced with ?45 to see City play Birmingham....**** ground, loony fans and ?45 ffs....not worth it. Personally if I was still down there I'd pay ?45 (if I could) to see the likes of Kaka playing for my team
  20. If I may add my two-pennerth.....as a former season ticket holder at City for 20+ years I have experienced much suffering, but...there's always a but isn't there.....who you buy depends on where the club is in it's development Chelsea got money suddenly but were already a team that got into cup finals and finished in the top 4 of the league. The EPL is such a tough league that the Old firm would do well to stay in it....and I'm being honest there. City were very comfortable in pre-season in a draw at Parkhead. Having seen Samaras play for City I can testify the lad is a bag of shyte up against good defenders City seem to be going for a top 6 place then building from there. It doesn't mean I wouldn't like them to have Cassillas and Villa, but they aren't likely to give up European cup football just yet. Of the latest batch of rumoured buys: Given: great goalie Parker: good holding midfielder Bellamy/Santa Cruz: decent strikers for a side in the UEFA places in the EPL It's all about building, not just throwing the best 11 players you can buy onto a pitch S'pose Caley somehow had ?10m to spend, who would/could the club buy? Boyd & Miller? It might get the club into the top 4 teams of the SPL but it's wouldn't make the slightest impact in Europe if we qualified for it. I'm not riled by comments about City by the way, I know it's only said in jest and when you've spent most of your life sharing a city with the most successful (and annoying) club in England you get a thick skin :thumb04: But then it's be boring if your team always won and did sensible things
  21. I had a nightmare last night, I think all these David Sutherlands had confused me . . . I dreamt there were 2 Craig Brewsters!
  22. what nationality am I? You tell me? I was born in Scotland of Scottish parents but lived in England from the age of 2...took me 40 years to come back. I've always felt Scottish and supported them not England...but I don't sound Scottish As for whether I'm British, well of course...
