  1. Having now thought about the players that left in the summer, im beginning to wonder as to whether Garry Wood, Iain Vigurs etc actually had relegation release clauses in their contracts. Obviously if the club went down they couldnt support an Under 19's team and maybe these guys fell into that catergory in that situation. Surely if we stayed up then they would still be here no?
  2. well its not actually cold and it has forecasted to be above freezing so the USH(if it was to be switched on) will cope with it. Just depends really on whether Ayr can actually get up for the game?
  3. Ok then lets try and answer some; "we are run like a diddy club at times but keep burying your head in the sand it's nobodys fault bar our own." - True but thats more to do with the board than anything else "Then that makes it worse on our part diddy club are we." - in connection to the USH, again we are not obligied to switch it on so Q.O.T.S have no basis to make any complaint against the club for it "Maybe our joke of a club could have decided either we put the ush on or not" - See response above "Inverness Thistle failed" - Thats why the club merged with Caley and now its Inverness caledonian Thistle! "So knowing the forecast was well below freezing why waste money on switching it on in the 1st place." - no, the forecast was taht it would be about -3 and it was double that. weather predictions are not 100% right all the time. " someone putting 2+2 the gether and getting 5 and trying to deflect any blame" - cant remember what this was in reference to? " although our club has to shoulder some of the blame hopefully lessons will have been learnt" - Yep we do, we should learn that we should not switch the USH on AT ALL in this division. "sometimes we run like a diddy club" - Havent we crossed this ground already "stop trying to deflect criticism of our club silly gamble switching ush on Friday" - again not ICT's problem. we are not obligated to have it on at all. "money we can ill afford was now wasted" - Yes we have wasted a few grand tryingf to oplease that circus from Dumfries "the loss of income from hospitality etc and gate money will hopefully teach us a lesson" - i doubt we would have made much out of it. Most of our home support is mainly season ticket holders so the club has the money from that. Some hospitality will be lost but not a great deal. And considering that queens wont bring up much support on the saturday anyway, there aint much of a loss there!
  4. we will lose to the czech's. Too many scots in the team :P
  5. id say the one on the right but with red and blue stripes but keep the white shoulders and sleeves?
  6. Queens can complain all they want but the fact of the matter is that they were presented with options. They were told that there was little to no chacne of the game being played(with or without USH) so why did they book an overnight stay in Inverness on that chance then? I would have had them up on a bus the saturday morning, atleast then they are only losing the cost of a driver and a bus hire rather than an expensive stay at the Travelodge Arms Hotel :P . Queen's can complain as much about Inverness CT & Dunfermline having USH but neither club is obliged to use it under the rules of the Scottish Football League(thats why St Johnstone will get hammered by the SPL for it). The SFL wont entertain any idea of subsidising any club with USH under their current rules.
  7. How simple do I have to make this and apparently several other aspects of this issue for you? There was NO 9:30 inspection on Saturday! The 11:00 pitch inspection was originally supposed to be at 09:30 but no-one told the ref.
  8. Yes, the clause states that they won't ever, ever(1) get relegated.(2) (1) ever! (2) subject to hell no freezing over Concerning the OF i dont know if thats fact or a joke? :P
  9. Maybe they heard the Inverness lasses were easy and wanted to try a John Terry or Ashley Cole!?
  10. Goes to show atleast we put the fear into one team in this division! :021:
  11. cant say ive noticed to tell you the truth
  12. remember everyone gets a clean slate with Levein so maybe thats why and hes probably judging him on his recent exploits at Blackpool. Levein probably knows Kenneth could do the job under him.
  13. Who cares, when the clubs loses more money from this appeal we can then have a go at them and say "told you so!"
  14. can we not just leave it as the weather wasnt as previously predicted and was colder than the USH could manage. That way everyone keeps face, except for the ref for not bothering to get up for the 09:30 pitch inspection as he "couldnt be bothered" and decided to get up here at 11:00. Will we get the usual from these southern refs of "Inverness is sooo far away to make a 09:30 pitch inspection" crap.
  15. yes but the income stream from the SPL would have cushioned any blow we had on wages, now in the 1st we are feeling the full effect of 6 months of paying Barrowman & Imrie on SPL wages and no TV income nor big money attendances. Oh and do Rangers & Celtic have relegation clauses in their contracts aswell? :021:
  16. Marshall (Cardiff City) that is probably the only one i dont want anywhere near Hampden ever again. Has not been the same since he left Celtic and is such a calamity in goal for Scotland.
  17. On this one I am going to give the club a big :021: . They are contractually obligated to change strips every so often to generate revenue for themselves and the kit supplier, but in ICT's case, they do not gouge the supporters in the way that some other clubs do. Many clubs change their kit every year and sometimes that can mean 1st, 2nd and even 3rd strips changing at the same time generating lots of expense for supporters (and revenue for the clubs). ICT only change the design of one strip every two years and stagger it so there is 1 new kit a year - home kit one year, away kit the next. In fact, on more than one occasion, the away kits from previous seasons have also doubled up as a 3rd kit so you get more than two years out of it (like the black kit for us this year) ! Obviously there will be a change to both kits for us next season as the sponsor will change, but the design of the away kit will most likely be exactly the same with that one exception .... I even remember one season (think it was 98/99) where ICT issued iron-on sponsor logos to cover the previous sponsor logo as the kit hadnt changed so fair play to the club, and praise where it is due on this one. Having said that, I do think we should keep our identity as red/blue stripes of some description ... the style can still change within a vertically striped template by giving more prominence to the red or the blue in different seasons but keep the stripes, it is our identity now and clearly the most favoured design of most supporters. yes, i have no problem with the club changing the kit but how about keeping it as stripes. maybe every other year changing the likes of how many stripes or how thick the stripes are. Not going from stripes to block design, then back to stripes then to a top that looks as if its had a can of red paint thrown across neck of the top.
  18. This is coming from a club that as it stands, cant even negotiate a standard contract with an International player and are just now trailing it through the courts so i doubt there are enough braincells between all the board members to say" hey if we go down, shouldnt we have some sort of clause in the players' contracts that reduces their wages?". unless the board come out and say that there are clauses in these contracts then we can assume for the time being that there isnt any.
  19. Inverness Citadel 4 - 2 Inverness Ladies D.MacKay S.Ceplinski J.Knight G.Leitch not too sure on the scorers for the ladies though!
  20. How's that working out for you? :D quite well and enjoyable! :015:
  21. maybe so, but i found out last night that the game is going ahead at Jubilee Park
  22. You forgot to add Barrowman too. Right you are now forgetting the other factors that have come into play aswell. S/T - as caleyD has said that season tickets are ?100 down on what they were last season. wages - we are still paying 1st division footballers SPL wages so thats a big drain on our funds USH - for the games that have had the USH on before hand runs at approx ?5-7k a game that had it on Niculae - We still have to pay him the monies he's due aswell as this pointless appeal next month which we will lose. attendence - We may still be getting close to some of the crowds we had in SPL but most were paying ?22-25 a ticket for that instead of the ?13 it is now plus there is no TV revenue coming in and now we are out of all cups so there will be no income from that. Basically we cannot afford to run something that (a) might not work in the weather conditions being forecasted and (:D will greatly reduce the income from a game against let's face it a team who will bring up maybe 200 fans tops.
  23. Don't think you will get a reply stevico1 cause he doesn't have a clue! First off I dont think there's any need for sarcasm. Second, If you don't know me then don't assume I dont have knowledge. Lets look first at wages. Average U-19 wage ?150 a week (guess) = ?7800 a year x average squad of 18 = ?140k + costs of staging home games + costs of travel + insurance + kit + coaching staff. So we could be talking in excess of ?250k a year to run one team. Players could, of course, be part time in which case they'd need to be holding down other jobs so wouldn't be in a position to train alongside first team squads. :( Oh Alex - you always rise to the bait. I think you have been listening to the spin doctors at TCS - they always talk the costs up. When we were in the SPL we received massive financial support for the young pro squad from grants and sponsorship deals but most of the kids got ?90 per week. Danny Macdonald did bring in a lot of money on the youth side but he also spent a lot on salaries for himself and others. I'm sure that a great deal of this money is no longer available now that we are out of the top league. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise Alex - this club has NEVER spent a lot of money on its youth development - FACT. For all the cost, we could have a team in the SFL U19 league and the squad could easily be made up of full-time and part-time players. I think the truth of it all is that we just couldn't be bothered trying to get this together! I think you may find the truth is we kept a squad of players on SPL wages with a first division budget so some things had to go. I would hope that was a temporary decision. Aye you may be right - and who's fault would that be then? obviously the boards for not negotiating relegation wage drop clauses in the contracts but what player would sign one with that in the deal?
  24. well if the USH wasnt switched on i honestly dont blame the club whatsoever for not putting it on. Its costs a good deal of money to run it a day and we just dont have the money to spend.
  25. Just got told by the Citadel manager and the Ladies Ass.manager that the council have postponed the game tomorrow. shame it would have been funny to watch! :(
