The derby
You're a big fan of Flybe then? I sensed the tongue in your cheek Don, Im sure one realised i meant the name of the team rather than our soon to be departing sponsor. Regardless of that; COME ONE CALEY!

The derby
As my signature says "THE NAME ON THE FRONT OF THE SHIRT IS A LOT MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE ONE ON THE BACK". Said with such passion by Herb Brookes; someone very few people have heard off. Well he took a bunch of nobody USA Ice Hockey players to the Winter Olympics at Lake Placid in 1980 and won gold from the Russians who were unbeaten in years I do hope our players realise that they are playing for more than themselves. Their is a town desperate for SPL football again, a place that was so cruelly taken from our grasp. Our fingers are on that Championship trophy by a single point and 11 men + 5 subs is all that stands between us and that trophy, so i join Themann4the job in rousing the troops for the most important Derby ever. To quote Jonny Rotten from Anarchy in the UK " GET OFF YOUR AAAAARSE". PS i'd woul love to see themann4the jobs post is this goes down to the last game against Scumdee

Promotion...all it's cracked up to be?
I agree DavieB. The 1st division has always been a more challenging and exciting league to be in, but unfortunately money talks and the SPL and its TV revenue is where we need to be. Besides i think if and when the SPL expands to 16 or 18 teams then im sure some of the excitement we have seen in the SFL will transfer over to the SPL

Who really believed
I posted this in October last year and while im not a " I told you so" person, I have to say in answer your question- yes i believed. ICT were right to just sit it out in the middle and watch the the rest fight it out over the top spot each week I think Ritchie Foran mentioned this in the P&J last week after the QOS game.

The Difference a season makes.
Didnt the Hobbos ( Hibs) do it too Smee?

Partick Th -V- ICT : matchday thread
Stevico- I & a few others said at the start of the season; while ICT were hanging around 5th,6th & 7th place that they were in the right place as the top 3 of the time, Dundee, County & QOS would eventually tire/bottle it leaving ICT to quietly overtake them. So im happy that our game plan has panned out. Great results today and i agree we cant throw this away. The prize is way too precious.

merged: County Community Club?
Jesus- i never thought i would hear that. Football clubs are businesses? and like it or not; fans are customers. Its the way the game is now. While the idea of a club keeping its roots within its own community is a romantic one, its not the way that a club must operate to play at the top level. Yes they manage it in other countries like France, but the UK is a whole different game with different ideals etc etc. So to say its "bollocks" is maybe a kneejerk reaction Caley D.. Think about it again and while im not trying to change your opinions I am trying to say that Adams comments were right. County have always been in our shadow and its the way forward for them. Whether they can succeed with such a small fanbase is another story. I will say that ICT can have community at the core of its ethics, but ICT can and should embrace the "Branding" of its name and expand on a national and international platform like so many other clubs have succeded at. Revenue is everything in Football and im sorry to say that we wont generate the revenues we need at a "local " level.

Post match comments from George Adams after the Cup game in which he contradicted the company line. Basically he said that he was at odds with the board over their running of the club as a community club and he didnt care about being a community club and wanted to be a SPL club and County had to get rid of the community aspect to reach that SPL goal. Interesting comments i thought and i agree totally with him on that. Not sure if ICT are any different. thoughts?

Jocky Scott Sacked
my mind is casting back to his post match interview after the Challenge cup final. Like Strachan he couldnt even bring himself to give the other team credit when they were outplayed and outclassed by ICT in the first half. My hate for him rom that moment knew no bounds...He was an arrogant so & so. Goodbye Jocky Tw*t and despite being top of the league and a trophy in your cabinet; my congratulations to the Dundee FC board for the most timely decison in football. Right im off to give my pal Jim Gellatly some pelters

County V Hibs
maybe i should expand on my post. I live in Edinburgh and the Hearts/ Hibs chat is never ending and their attitude of ICT sized teams being diddy teams p**ses me off no end, so im sure this is where it comes from.
