Couldn't disagree more with this. We all go through periods where we benefit from a little bit of a motivational pick-me-up....be that in work, or just day to day life. It happens for various reasons, but as often as not it's because people lack a little belief in themselves and doubt starts to creep in...the more you focus on it, the deeper you get into the hole. I've been doing an NLP and Life Coaching Diploma with a guy called Don MacNaughton. I first met Don when he used to come in and work with ICTFC players during Terry Butcher's time at the club...and there are few who could argue that Terry didn't get the best from his players when here...so the evidence that working on the mental aspect of things with players is beneficial and there for all to see. Many of the larger clubs (and an increasing number of not so large clubs) do regular sessions of this nature with players, and an increasing number are working with players at a young age. This means that more among future generations of players will have the tools to help themselves with the mental aspect of the game, but it won't be with everyone and unless a club are developing it themselves and/or signing players who've been at clubs who do...then many aren't going to have it as part of their arsenal. If a club isn't investing in a third party to undertake mental coaching, then it's even more important that the manager (or coaches) undertake the role of motivator. That's not a judgement on what Robbo and the staff are or aren't doing at present; and whilst I'd be concerned if they weren't doing something in this area, I don't actually know if they are or not. Personally...In the last 20 months I've gone from being a 31.5 stone heart attack waiting to happen, to a far happier 19 stone (and dropping) bloke who's got a chance of making it beyond his 45th birthday. I didn't need to be taught how to get off my ass, go for a walk/run/cycle or how to count calories (although I did do a 6 week gym based bootcamp)...but I did need a bit of help to develop the mental habits and exercises that are helping me become a better version of myself...on all fronts.

Scottish Cup 3rd Round
I perhaps would have been better saying "should have". Can only assume that the SFA didn't consider out game important enough to take any stance over; so just allowed the Spartans game to go ahead the day before ,on the park we will be using, in winter when pitches are barely able to recover in a week, let along 22 hours! Also spotted earlier that every Sunday in November there are bus replacement services in operation for trains to Edinburgh.

ICT Supporters Trust : Board Nominations
With the deadline for nominations just 4 days away, I thought it might be an idea to give a brief view on where the Supporters Trust is at and see if anyone has any questions on stuff that's maybe holding them back from getting involved; so here we go... Earlier in the year, months of chat and discontent over the Supporters Trust came to a head and resulted in a push for a Special General Meeting and changes to the Board sitting therein. At that time there were people who indicated that it was an organisation that they might have considered getting involved with if not for the internal challenges that would exist for whoever stepped up at the time. Thanks to the hard work and diligence of those who did step up, the organisation now finds itself in a far better place.... Internal administrative and procedural issues have been rectified. For the first time in what looks like many, many years there's a members list which we have some confidence in and which has allowed us to meet the obligation of better communicating with the members/fans. Dialogue has been opened up with the club and we are represented on the ICT 25th Year Celebrations Committee…with the ICT Supporters Trust Hall of Fame being included on the calendar of events (date tbc). For those of you who don’t know about the Hall of Fame, you can get more info here : https://caleythistleonline.com/index.html/archives/news-archive/news-2007-08/hall-of-fame-2007-awards-r359/ We got off to a bit of a sticky start on the SLO conversation, but there's now a commitment from the club to regularly review and grow that role. The first review is due to take place during November 2018 and we welcome the proactive approach now being taken in this area. It is the shared hope of the ICT Supporters Trust Board that at least some of those who previously saw the above as a barrier to putting themselves forward for the board will now be more comfortable in doing so. Fresh faces bring fresh ideas, fresh energy and a wider focus to any organisation. We all have an opportunity to ensure the ICT Supporters Trust never again becomes stale and unable to meet the purposes for which it exists. That can be from supporting the work of those involved directly with the society or, and this is where we really need your help, by stepping forward and being one of those people joining the board. Applications for board nominations are being accepted up until midday on 6th November and you can find the information and forms at https://drive.google.com/open?id=1PyhLlLxTlBgiMM18U8qJE18CVHQEzD0m : alternatively, drop us an email to [email protected] and someone will assist you from there. We will also have board members on hand at the Stadium Sports Bar (Pie and Pint for a fiver from 12pm) before this weekend's Highland Derby. Come bring us your forms, ask us some questions, sign up for the tenpin bowling night at the end of the month….or just for a bit of idle chit chat! I could finish with any one of a dozen inspirational, cliched call to arms type lines, but it boils down to this…. The ICT Supporters Trust exists to give fans the opportunity for a strong collective voice. If you want that voice to exist, then support it. If you want to be part of that voice, then join it. If you want to help drive that voice, then get your board nomination submitted....NOW!! Thank You

Scottish Cup 3rd Round
At the very least, some kind of communication saying that the date had not been finalised/was still under discussion would have prevented the situation I'm seeing with a number of people across social media reporting they are now out of pocket having booked hotels and/or travel. I would suggest that fans make use of the [email protected] email address to feed back to the club.

What is it in a persons psyche that makes them think it is acceptable to subject another person to abuse purely on their perception that they didn't play well enough in a game of football? I'm not talking about a shout of "FFS" or "What was that" or even a "You clown" etc that comes in the moment when there's been a loose pass or missing a sitter...I'm not even talking about booing your own team (as much as I disagree with it)...I'm talking about foul mouthed, nasty, senseless shouting at players. I've said it on here umpteen times before...but I'll say it again. There are very few players I have met who come off after a poor game and aren't feeling it every bit as much as those who've been watching the game. The players don't expect false praise or fans to blow smoke up their butts...they know when the fans aren't happy because there is no applause and no cheering....they don't need or deserve whatever other nonsense some people think should be flung their way.

The League Table
The assumption from the last few comments is that we have been prudent and operating without investment since relegation...and, by the Chairman's own words, that couldn't be further from the truth. Back in July he issued a statement that said there had been £900,000 in additional investment and more was needed. That's a long way from living within our means and being sustainable in the Championship! P.S. We got £374,000 from UEFA last year which we won't have got this year.

Friday Night Football
You can't say "I'm not going to tar everyone with the same brush" when that's what you've just done and then reenforced it by saying you're making a generalisation....well, you can as that's what you've done....hence the

It's a little frustrating not to be a bit further up the table, but we're still very much in the game. Heck, if we were in Falkirk's position then I'd be wetting my knickers along with everyone else...but we're a long way from that and not even a third of the way into the season. The points on the board are fixed, they're done with, in the past....there's nothing we can do about them. However, there are still plenty of points to be won and we CAN do something about them. - ICTFC : Open Fans Meeting : 25/10/18
Was talk of it being done 3 or 4 times a season and looking at the format to see if it would be practical to do live online so more people can participate.- ICTFC : Open Fans Meeting : 25/10/18
A reminder that the club are having an open fans meeting to discuss the Supporters Liaison topic. The meeting is being held at the ICTFC Social Club tomorrow night at 7pm. More information on the club website at http://ictfc.com/index.php/news/club-news/2325-open-meeting-agenda-thursday-25-october- Scottish Cup 3rd Round
I don't recall any specific rule on it....although there is a specific one for replays....but I do recall the conversation coming up during a meeting (the year there was a horrendous level of league postponements) and reference being made to the fact that it is part of the agreement between the SPFL (SPL & SFL at that time) that Scottish Cup matches could not be postponed due to matches taking place in other competitions.- The League Table
The last time I looked at City Population v Attendance figures....we were up there at the top end of the table. That would have been done when we were playing in the top league with better attendances, so would doubtless make for less impressive reading on current numbers...what with attendances falling whilst population continues to grow. It should also be taken into consideration that whilst population is growing, it is in no small part due to people moving to the area who may already have other team allegiances. A fact that ties into a point I made elsewhere about the country possibly being at "peak interest" with fans of the game being spread across too many clubs for a country our size.- Return of OFW
Robbo has said he's cut £1.2 Million from the wage budget....so we're probably paying less than minimum wage these days.- Friday Night Football
I'm not against Summer Football, I'm just not a fan of going "oh, look what they are doing, if it worked for them it should work for us". If Scottish Football really wants to know what will work here...ask the people here...create a case for things based on meaningful, relevant data. It's checking over the fence to see what the neighbours have that landed us with league splits and project brave and the attitude that it's the supporters and clubs who must be screwed up because these things worked elsewhere.- Scottish Cup 3rd Round
Scottish Cup would have precedence. - These draws
