  1. Don't get me started on the whole mascot thing :029:
  2. I think the situation highlights (yet again) the poor communication between the club and the fans. The club seem to be doing a lot of their communicating via the Supporters Trust these days. That makes it easier for them to distance themselves from the responsibility of getting information out there properly, but if this is to be the way forward then the Supporters Trust need to work on their methods of communication to ensure information is passed on to all fans in a full and proper manner. When the new West Stand was put in place, some people seemed to believe it was with the intention of giving fans the freedom to stand and sit as they saw fit and I don't think it was made clear enough that the same rules would applied there as they do in other parts of the stadium. Perhaps certain people will realise now how important it was to have cleared the air properly following events at the Deunfermline game last season. If the club had not been allowed to sweep it all under the carpet and bulldoze it all with promises of this new west stand then perhaps we wouldn't be faced with the current situation. NOTHING has been done to rectify that situation and improve the relationship between fans and stewards and until it's sorted properly then these situations will continue to crop up in all parts of the ground. I'm not defending the actions of the fans at the Arbroath game who stepped over the line and if only half of what I have been told is true then they deserve whatever punishment the club hands out to them when they meet with them this week.
  3. I think cutting of his bollocks is a bit severe. :015:
  4. DJS - the link to that image isn't valid (hence it not showing up)
  5. Just finished uploading some pictures to the gallery (courtesy of Gordon Gillespie - NorthSport) :link: [attach=1]
  6. DBS, I couldn't agree with you less. As for your comparison to Les Fridge...that did give me a wee laugh (at you, not with you). And are you referring to Ally Ridgers the great shot stopper who allowed Arbroath to ship 4 past him in his first appearance for Elgin the other week? :015: Fraser has made a couple of mistakes, but he's also saved us on more occasions than I can remember. Your not the only one looking for a scapegoat to justify our poor start to the season, but it's a team game and there's only so much one person can do. Mike Fraser is saving a fair number of the opponents shots on target and the back four have to work a little harder to whittle that number down before we can start laying blame at his feet.
  7. Scotty, that's what I said below - I don't mind it being tightened up a little, but to remove the opportunity altogether is simply wrong in my book. Also, if you look at the days when we had more teams competing in Europe, it was teams at all levels and not just the premier league elite. That is the issue the SFA should be dealing with. They are charged with looking after the game in this country, and how we are perceived in Europe should be secondary to that instead of the driving factor in trying to come up with temporary fixes which will only serve to further damage the domestic game.
  8. Our co-efficient will never improve until such time as the SFA, SFL and SPL stop with the self protectionist bull5hit and start looking at improving things for all teams so even thinking about it at present is academic. Even if we were to improve the co-efficient, do you think for one second these same people would change the system back to open up the chances for other teams? This is the thin end of the wedge in keeping Euro places for the big boys at the expense of allowing the smaller guys the dream and hope of getting a shot. For many of the middle to lower SPL teams and even 1st Div teams this was the one real thing to play for during the season and it's been taken away for what is, if you really think about it, very little gain in the grand scheme of things.
  9. IMO, this decision is about nothing more than protecting the income for the bigger teams and ensuring them European income. As for his comments about teams outside the OF damaging our game...I think he needs to be looking a bit closer to home to see where the damage has/is being done. Perhaps if he concentrated a bit more on improving things on his own doorstep and giving our whole game in this country a lift then we'd all be better prepared to perform on the European stage. The incentive of a realistic chance to play in Europe should be there for ALL teams in any given country. If they want to scrap giving the place directly to the cup runner-up then they should at least allow that team the opportunity of a play-off against the other contenders. We have 2 Champions League and 2 UEFA Cup Places - the CL places go to the top two in the SPL and the other 2 places got to a play off between the 2 cup winners (or runners up if winner has already qualified), 3rd & 4th in the SPL.
  10. - Your spot on the money Mantis. I ran a minibus to Hibs, couldn't get enough bodies to run one to Celtic and have people queuing for a seat on the one to Gretna for that very reason.
  11. I think your right, but we can live confident in the fact that we'll be part of the new lowest when we visit them at the end of October :015:
  12. The only stats that will matter to me are the ones at the end of the season which decide who's for the drop.
  13. I know stats don't count for much when you've just lost 5-0, but interesting reading all the same.... Shots - 17 v 14 On Goal - 8 v 6 Offside - 6 v 3 Corners - 3 v 4 Fouls - 10 v 9 Possession - 60 v 40

Caleyboy - have you ever made a post that wasn't an attempt to taunt someone or other? Personally I think it's getting a bit boring, but unfortunately I don't have the ability to ignore you.

I posted a link to the application form earlier in the thread, but here it is again. Clicky Clicky

It was sold on the basis that people's names would be on the pitch with the players every time it was worn - I think that's confirmation enough.

Be he was just to lazy to look and wanted someone to do that for him :015: I've been playing a wee word search game trying to see if it spells out any interesting or rude words anywhere on the vertical or diagonal.....how sad is that :029:
  21. Too slow again darnit!!!!! :015:
  22. BBQ Sale? I need a new one, where's it at? In fairness Clacher, this was in response to a request from a site user for something they could print and stick up on the staff noticeboard at work type deal. From that point of view it needs to be simple and easy to print out and your not going to get full glossy colour posters. Big Oaks from Little Acorns and all that. If 10 minutes work can bring in even one or two more people then it's 10 minutes well invested.

    Should it be?

TM4TJ - They have to use names and numbers in the SPL. OK, so it may not be a big deal in the grand scheme of things, you have one with your name on for yourself etc etc, but when your shelling out ?100 for something it's not unreasonable for people to expect that it's done to a certain standard. It must have entered someones head at some point that the players name and number was going to cover a fair few fans names and the design/layout should never have been signed off on. It would have been so easy to avoid it that it just makes you have to shake your head at what is (unfortunately) another PR blunder by ICT - it's just one other thing that adds to the mounting frustrations.

Yikes!!! I had thought all names were on twice and a few 3 times but having used TM4TJ's pictures and running them through some OCR software then checking what all names are on it, it would appear that if your name is in the outlined area then it's on there once only. All names on the front are repeated on the back lower section. Seems like someone somewhere has really screwed up on this and instead of repeating names on the back the whole top portion could have been left clear and names printed on the lower portion so as everyone was just on their once and not obscured by names and numbers. atback1.jpg_thumb
