That's so funny! I assume (and hope) these as genuine and not photo-shopped! There was an old Countdown back in the day when Bamber Richard Whitely presented it and both contestants bravely offered 'wankers' as their word! After dictionary corner confirmed it 'acceptable', Whitely said something like 'well, we've got a couple of wankers here'!!!

You should consider starting your own post-referendum, anti-Indy Blog - maybe call it 'Yngwies Over Scotland'!

I can't believe some people would be happy if he signed, based on some computer animation! Why don't we sign Pacman while we're at it - he seems hungry and would gobble up the chances. I think we should be signing him for entirely different reasons - he apparently does triple-backflips when celebrating!! Celebrating goals that is - presumably not birthdays!

The Biggest Derby for years in the FA Cup
Sneckboy replied to IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER's topic in General Football
If you ever went on Mastermind I would suggest that your chosen specialist subject should not be TV quiz shows, because "Bambi" actually presented University Challenge, and I only know that because I can remember the episode of the Young Ones when they went on it! Of course! University Challenge it was...not Mastermind! Ah well, serves me right - jokes on me! -
The Biggest Derby for years in the FA Cup

Didn't Bamber Bridge use to present Mastermind? -

I certainly expect a 'non-league' team to beat a league side this weekend - Turriff United and Whitehill Welfare definitely have a fighting chance! Barry Ferguson's face will be a picture if he's humbled at Turriff!!!

The SNP do have a leader! But, like all parties, eventually do, will be seeking a new one shortly. I disagree. They (SNP) most certainly have a future - they're not going away! They are running the Scottish Parliament, and will be until at least 2016 - when, I predict, they'll again be the biggest party. Not directly 'attacking' you, Laurence, as your views are a broadly, a microcosm of what's been bugging me since the referendum. This air of arrogance which I find particularly annoying, as, I have since transferred my allegiances to YES - and am feeling mugged-off and frankly embarrassed and naive for voting NO. I watched a 'post-mortem' on Scotland Tonight, last night and that man, Pat Kane, amongst others, talks a lot of sense. A very interesting point mentioned, re. media bias, was the statistic that of 31 'print publications' (newspapers, Sundays's etc.), only one backed YES! In a poll where 45% voted YES in a turnout of 85%!!! Something very wrong there. Bring on the next referendum. Lessons have been learned and next time, the result will be very, and irrevocably, different!! SCOTLAND!

A wee 'bump' for this thread, as these games are this Saturday. (With the exception of Stirling Uni v Albion Rovers, on Sunday.) Which is an interesting game, in its own right. The Uni's female manger has had an immediate impact on the Lowland League club's fortunes - it'll be fascinating to see if she can create history by overseeing a win against SPFL opposition. Andy Gray and Richard Keys would be pleased! I think they were 1-1-4 (W-D-L) and bottom when she took the reigns - but are now 6th with a 5-1-0 record since she took over. I can't make Sunday's ICT-County derby, so will go to either Nairn (most likely), Brora or Elgin on Saturday for my fix. Just been looking at Elgin pubs on Google Street Maps. There's one called the Muckle Cross which I looked at - possibly 'then' called The Ionic Bar when the Google car passed taking its photos. A warm welcome guaranteed for all. Alternatively, Brora are playing against Juniors, Banks O' Dee. I haven't seen a lot of Junior football, but am aware of the 'rivalry' in, particularly, Ayrshire. There, I've introduced it - I'm now justified in posting this extraordinary photo of a Juniors 'game'. In the foreground, the obligatory Buckfast bottle can be seen in use as a makeshift weapon. Meanwhile, to the rear of the shot, one punter lamps another....

You're absolutely right! I was, of course, referring to league games...

As well as Billy being 'due' a goal, I think we must be 'due' a penalty anytime now - seems ages since we've been awarded a spot-kick! Edit: Checked back, and it's 'only' been 12 games since our last pen...so not as long as I felt. Possibly the close-season makes it seem longer. It was in April, at Parkhead - Fraser Forster saved from Aaron Doran.

I think that stat stretches back to November 2011! Bonfire night! We were certainly on fire, coming from behind to beat Kilmarnock 6-3 at Rugby Park. Which is appropriate, as it was, literally, a rugby score!
-
3-2 final score. First win of the season! Calum Ferguson must be getting close to a place on the bench!
-
3-1 Ferguson again!! The Hibs line up shows Alan Combe in goals...I'm sure he's not under 20! Or developing!

Yes. Hibernian at the Caledonian Stadium, 6pm.

Eagle4Caley, as much as I hate to admit it, it will be another shoo-in for Celtic. I'd be surprised if any team is within 15 points of them.
-
I think 7 points, would be a great return from these 3 games. It is just 3 fixtures for us in October - there's another international break after the County game!
-
Continuity for us - no surprises. Aberdeen have all 3 ex-ICT boys starting...typical! I feel Warren and Meekings will have a job today dealing with Rooney. But they're more than capable. It'll be a tight affair today, I feel, no more than a goal in it. Good luck, Inverness!

As mentioned by DD (Doofers Dad, not dd, dougiedanger!), the next few years in politics should be interesting with the General Election next year, the Scottish Parliament the year after, then, the following year, perhaps an EU referendum? I read an interesting article recently, from the anonymous punter who placed £800,000 on NO winning. He placed 4 bets at different times resulting in average odds of around 1/4 resulting in just over £200,000 winnings. Obviously, this guy could 'afford' to lose such a vast sum - and it's an example of how money-makes-money, but it was nevertheless an enormous amount to stake, and regardless of how rich, his reasoning follows some compelling points. His rational was interesting. He was guided more by bookmakers odds: to paraphrase, "this was a significant gambling event, and bookies are more often reliably accurate than opinion-polls." And secondly, he had studied the outcome of world-wide referendums (referenda?!) over time and, with only a few exceptions had seen a significant trend. For the most part, people tend towards the status-quo. But, there's often an upturn in polling figures for the 'away team' (a YES in this case) at some stage - before, nearer the day of the vote, folk 'refer-to-type'. With bookies odds, SNP fans may take some comfort in the knowledge that, currently, they have Danny Alexander to LOSE his Inverness seat next May, with the Nats favourites to take the seat. Also, a future referendum appears inevitable - but, you've got another 24 years to wait! (date with the shortest odds). I suppose that's a 'generation'!

On current form, I'd be disappointed if Watkins was dropped.

The only statistic of relevance is the 55%-45% outcome. Yet, you're eager to proclaim "Apparently, 51% of Scots-born voters voted Yes, while 74% of non-Scots UK-born voters voted no. So the Scots did actually vote for independence" I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to infer from those comments!
