  1. think we are missing this young lad, we lack imagination and quality in the team which has improved but still isn't as good as it could be. Vigurs was playing so well when butcher was introduced, so why has he not featured since...we need our best players playing. does it not worry people a little that we are wasting such a talent? just wondered what peoples thoughts were on this?
  2. I think butcher needs to change his tatics a little, he definitely needs to recall vigurs, need some ball players back in the team. morais need him back in as well...come on butcher don't do a brew. get out better players playing again.

I'm sure a lot of fans would agree, but the team's performances and results have improved a lot since we dropped him. I don't think that the results are down to vigurs not playing but down to butcher getting the best out of the players we have, so surely if he did that with vigurs it would be a massive boost even more to the team as he has massive potential. we should be taking advantage of that, not to make the most of something is very unusual indeed in any manner.

I can't understand why one of our best players is being left out...very strange indeed.
  5. Not really.....if it's not broken don't fix it and this line-up have done well so far. Yes i understand that, but he's not even on the bench, does that not suprise you a little, he was one of our best performers before Butcher came in. I think the club want to keep this boy but he has no reason to sign an extension if he is not playing, we're going to loose out on one of scotlands bright young talents which would be a blow to the club. Lets not be naive here, we have only played two games with this line up which has been under the new manager syndrome. We need our best players available to us to win games.
  6. Is noone suprised to see that once again vigurs is not involved at all???? Surely one of our best players...what's going on here I wonder?!
  7. Welcome to ICT and the highlands! Hope you will feel at home and most importantly keep our team in the SPL where they belong. If anyone can do it you two can as I believe you are capable of motivating the lads to deliver the goods for ICT!

I take it you were not at the Hamilton game then? He gave the ball away far too often and the boy McArthur ran the show in the centre of the park, whilst Vigurs tried to keep up with his shadow. I have no doubt the lad has great potential but he appears to be trying to run before he can walk. Sponge you are judging the lad on one game, a player is allowed to have a below par performance. Every other game he has played in he has been one of, if not our best player. He controlled the game against celtic at parkhead...how many players have done that...not many, which has included some of the best players in the world. You say he is lightweight, i've heard from a caley player that he is one of the strongest players in the team and is very difficult to knock off the ball, doesn't sound lightweight to me. He does throw himself about but it's no good Iain being sidelined for going into a stupid challenge. In my opinion Vigurs is our best prospect and should be dealt with by the club in a more serious manner otherwise we will loose him to a bigger club.

This lad has already demonstrated his potential to become a truely great player and more importantly has shown his mental capacity to perform well at SPL standard - a skill that was probably honed and developed during his time at Aberdeen and Celtic's YD not to mention his early exposure to 3rd division football at the tender age of 15. It may be prudent however for Vigurs to determine what Terry Butcher's opinion of him is before agreeing to extending his contract at ICT cos as we all know different people see different things in players and this lad would not be satisfied with warming his bum on a bench every week. So lets hope TB sees his potential and keeps him as a regular 1st team player, offers him a contract that reflects his talent and potential as it would seem he is more than happy to stay at ICT!,
  10. Magic.! :thumb04: No Vigurs? He was outstanding yesterday! We need that sort of quality on the ball against Celtic - they'll allow our midfielders to play a bit. I would go with: Esson Tokely Pav Munro Hastings Cowie Vigurs Duncan Imrie Morais Rooney I've been saying for the past couple of weeks that if we're keeping Black we should play him, but none of yesterday's midfielders deserve to be dropped after their performances against Hearts. Having said that, I'd put Black on early if the game is not going our way. i agree with you, can't leave vigurs out, he is becoming our best performer and has the class to change a game. the only player we have that is capable of filling black's shoes...and who eventually could become our most valuable player.
  11. I take your point re Black's take on fitness but having said that I can tell you that I just heard from the horses mouth that everyone felt they had so much more energy today and one particular prolofic player said he felt physically great instead of the usual dead legs at the end of play!
  12. Totally agree with this opinion! Why so negative of what could be a great opportunity for ICT. I know for a fact that the players were run into the ground by CB and other aspects of their game was neglected as a result. Its not that we dont have talent in the team, we most definitly do but it has to be nurtured and utilised by an experienced tactician and lover of beatiful football if we are going to benefit from watching their skill in action each week and not just on the odd occasion. As for the number of clubs he's managed I would say that was a plus especially when you learn of the reasons why he moved on from them! He is experienced and has lead other teams out of relegation what makes managing ICT be different! New start new blood! ok new start I can understand where you are coming from, 14 jobs and and 14 sackings I fail to see how you can support that, this is a stage of getting stuck in and get out of it, not 5 forwards and lets go for it . With the exception of Alex Ferguson, Kenny Dalgleish and very few others most managers of that age group have had many jobs. Is bringing back a manager from the clubs past the answer? I doubt it! But hey ho everyone is entitled to their view on things, despite most of us not having first hand experience of how to survive as a manager in todays 'culture' of wanting things to happen yesterday!

  14. Would go along with that, the most sensible player choice and a formation that can used to its attacking and defensive strengths. Looks like a winning combination to me!
  15. Taking on board the possible cons of appointing Butcher (eg his national side involvement) I cant help having a good feeling about someone of his calibre let loose with our team. I say give him a chance to show what he's made of! He certainly cant be accused of being a wall flower and I think we need someone with some 'balls' to get us back up the league where we belong
  16. Cant believe that previous managers are been flagged up as possible replacements for CB. Surely the lesson learned is that going back no matter how successful a manager has been in the past is not the stuff of progress. Can you imagine the pressure on a old/new manager given we are at the bottom of the league and have new players in the team. A new face and a new approach is surely the way forward? A character that believes emphatically in his own tactics and style of management that is endorced fully by the fans. If he proves to be unsuitable then and only then begin to judge him. But first and formost make him feel welcome and therefore give him the support and confidence he will need in his dammed if you do dammed if you dont role.
  17. i agree i dont think they will manage to keep vigurs...it's early in his career so he isn't going to tie himself down to a club that aren't prepared to offer him a salary that reflects his talent. anything under a 1000 a week will be pointless for him to accept. im sure he will find another spl club easily so caley really need to offer him a serious deal to keep him.
  18. need to offer him a good contract to keep him at the club, i dont think he'll settle for the usuaul rubbish caley have offered the youngsters in the past. potentially a far more gifted player than cowie and blackie so they need to hang on to him whatever the cost i reckon (well within reason).
  19. thought we played well first half but we tired the second...vigurs was superb for 50 minutes but tired, to be expected though as he hasn't played in three four weeks. black and cowie average, mcbain played well. we're in some serious trouble though...
  20. yeah anyone who puts out a team without vigurs simply doesnt follow our games...when he plays we usually win. we have won one game without him i think...possibly two. roby i agree with you mate.
  21. Esson Proctor Duff Munro Hasting Cowie Duncan Black Vigurs Imire Rooney/Wood
  22. i fear we might lose these players but what i fear more is that it won't only be them that is gonna be going to bigger clubs. we might have a very large gap in midfield to fill come this junuary/summer.
  23. the celtic goal was onside, it was timed to perfection the run, however, i do seem to remember thinking we should have had a free kick just before they scored. cowie was also on side i think, but i need to have a look at the highlights to see it for sure. thought our midfield were superb, black and vigurs were spreading the passes about the park brilliantly. just unfortunate we couldn't score, but well played to the whole team.
