The DoF was paid an emolument of ?50k last year. This was 'supposedly' in recognition of his services over the previous four years when he done the job for nothing.
The DoF received ?40k in the previous financial year, so the above justification for previous unpaid service is not valid. In my opinion, a paid DoF is a luxury we cannot afford in the 1st division.

Gringo, thanks for that and for all your good work in running the NPL.
-
Well done Kencar, you're a worthy winner. Hard luck Gringo Jnr.
Gringo, on a personal note, could you check my score for the Falkirk game, as I think I'm due 5 points for the correct half time (not that's going to make much difference to final standings :015: ).

Kind of Blue by Miles Davis
An inspired selection.

Rescheduled for Feb 18th (I hear Sky dictated the date)
Just realised today is Feb 8th.
I spotted the date also, Yngwie. Amazing to think that 9 Years have passed since that historic night.

I warmly welcome the appointment of the new management team and they will get my full support. I urge everbody to unite behind the team and management, so that together we can play our part in fighting off the threat of relegation. I know that's easy to say and harder to act upon but everthing else is secondary in the face of this threat. We've had little to cheer about this season but I really hope that Butcher can turn things around; get the team motivated and fired up to spur on a challenge to the teams above.

The appointment of manager is due to be made on Monday. Apparently Robbo is still in with a shout but Buthcher is out of the running. My money is on Knox.

Alex, a timely and sensible thread and one in which I share your sentiments. It's time for us all to look ahead and believe that we can stay in this league. Every game now is a cup final and we must play our part in every way we can to fight for survival. All is not lost and starting with a win at Tynecastle we can turn things around.

Dundee United certainly seem in a position to try to tempt us to sell Cowie having just posted a profit in excess of ?800,000.
They did indeed post a profit of ?800k but they still have a debt of ?5.5 million. I don't doubt though that they could make Cowie an attractive offer.

Barry you have made a big contribution to the success of this club over the years and have provided many entertaining moments (how I dream of being entertained again!). I wish you every success at QoS and thank you for the memories.

Best: I believe in Father Christmas - Greig Lake
Worst: to many to mention

Fleet Foxes - (Best album of the year, IMO).
-
Time for Esson to get a run in the side. His distribution is far better than Fraser and he has looked confident and composed when given a chance in the cup games.
-
A fairly good attendance today despite the early kick off and the game being televised.
-
As much has been made of our crowds figures for the opening two games, it's interesting to note that the crowd at Falkirk today was 4,700. The same fixture last season produced crowds of 5,265 and 5,631 respectively. It is too early to make assumptions about levels of our crowds for the rest of the season, but the significant reduction in the Falkirk crowd does suggest that the general economic downturn is going to impact on most of the clubs in Scotland.

Far too many changes for my liking - hope it doesn't backfire on us.

If you study the TV advert you will see that the TV shop (albeit with a name change) in Grieg Street is shown. You can also see the ICT Social club.

KOB
You still fox me unless you are Robert?Give me a clue. World Comes Crashing In is a great song but it was not one of the ones we recorded, I agree with your review tho, Hedgehogs and Rainbows, City Lights and I can't remember the other one unless I have a look at the CD. Three in total I think we recorded.
The penny has just dropped Lifescan!
I'm not Robert but Alan. I spoke to you a few times in the ICT stadium last season.

Is there a free bus from the bus station on monday night down to the game? If not will the Caley club be running one?
The Caley club is running a bus.

Grant is out for 4 to 6 weeks, so it wil be interesting to see if Duff gets another chance next week.

Well KOB to be Fair at the time I cannot say they ripped me off with stuff let's just say we had a parting of the ways as I finaced their first tape on Skye and did them ever so much of a good deal on the recording of their tracks for the album Raining Stairs. Incidentally they recorded 3 tracks at "Arcane" the rest in very very expensive Edinburgh Studios with top producers, I think the tracks they recorded in Inverness stand out against them as we only had an 8 track 1/2 in Tascam Recorder syncd to some nice Midi gear against 24 track super duper stuff. I'm trying to think who yer are kinda blue were u a suspect device?
If I say that I was a long standing customer at Nu Direction, then that will narrow it down.
Was the Raining Stairs track - "World comes crashing" one that you recorded? Its sounds good although the guitarist was trying too hard to sound like the Edge.

I think we should give the lad a chance, despite several seasons of scoring goals for fun, Paul Ritchie would still be described as the above by some
I agree

Cannot believe Aberdeens finest prog act Pallas have not been mentioned, surely they played Inverness.
IQ certainly did and so did Marillion in 82 and my old mates Comedy of Errors played the Hayloft.
Graham
Yes this sad old prog head was at the Fish gig last year and it was great to get the whole of Clutching at Straws. nostalga!
I helped organise the IQ gig at Eden Court in 1984. It was a great gig but I lost a fair bit of money in the process. Did you hear their album: "Tales from the lush attic". I think I may have seen Pallas at the Ice rink but I ndidn't manage to see Marillion. Have you heard of Pendragon?

BornCaley, I dug out the "Groove Machine" compilation tape tonight and gave it a listen for the first time in many years. Your track stood out from the rest and although it has an obvious Madchester feel to it, it is a good track. The sleeve notes make the following comment on AGS: "AGS have brought Manchester just a little closer to home with an impressice combination of dance rythms and indie sounds".
Other interesting tracks on the tape are by Raining Stairs and Suspect Device.
Ed Waiter - didn't Raining Stairs rip you off with some equipment?
