I would be interested - would you allow an over 40 year old to play?
-
Well done Mike :clapping03: it truely was a fantastic save. I think MF has now left the understudy tag behind him and overcome his difficult start to the season to show that he is a class keeper.
-
What a game... it had everything - 5 goals; a fantastic come-back; a world class save; a side that showed grit and determination in adversity; Freeland giving us a break for a change; ICT fans getting right behind the side; a midfield that can now dominate its area.
If we see a better game this season then we're in for a treat.
-
This is a game where we simply have to play a 4-5-1.
I agree with 1 up front, but who would it be? Neither Wyness or Marrius have the necessary speed to to the job on their own
-
Not fussed about Rankin, he can be anonymous at times. I believe Patti will be a better player given time to prove himself after injury, at least he can offer us something in the air. I would rather keep Hart than Rankin if that were my options. Frustrating player Rankin, hides for most of a game then bang, sensational goals a la Rangers and Falkirk, but he is a luxury we can manage without. Now Cowie...................that is a player we must keep.
tm4tj, my thoughts exactly.

Van Morrison (x2) at the Ironworks.

As long as Rankin :029:
Any player who plays half decent is a threat to brewsters high ego problem.
Thats why he signed Zibi, Proctor and Watt, he knows they are sh1te :014:
Brewster didn't exactly have many players to choose from, as there was only about a week of the transfer window open from when he took charge.
-
I can understand Tokely loosing the plot with McGarry because McGarry was diving for most of the match and succeeded in winding up our players and conning the ref (although it was a sending off). However, Tokely should have been mature enough not to have hit McGarry. He must learn from this big mistake.
It will be interesting to see how Proctor does and if he performs well, as I hope he will, then he should get an extended run in the side.
-
If Black did walkout at half time, then it clearly demonstrates that his maturing process has got some way to go.

Brewster made a big mistake in selecting Bayne (although, I agreed with the decison to play him last week). For a home game against a team like Motherwell, Niculae should have been the automatic choice.
We were punished for again having a poor start to the game. Motherwell scored with their first real opporunity. One of our players appeared to flick the ball into the box for their guy to finish off.
The ref was terrible and this was a major reason for some of our players loosing the plot. As has been said by others on this thread, most people could see that Bayne was eventually going to get sent off - so brew should have subbed him at half time.
I don't think 'well outplayed us, we just made it easy for them.
Tokely deserves a spell on the bench when he comes back from suspension - he let his team and the fans down today.
-
The club has made a sensible decision and I hope that RH grabs his second chance with both hands and doesn't let the club down.
-
Motherwell will give us a very tough game next which we will have to be in top form to win. I would not be too unhappy with a point. We should be good enough to beat St Midden, provided the defence does not gift anymore goals.
-
Rig, I ain't cluthching at any straw. The bottom line is that our "defence" conceded 4 shoddy goals and therefore handed Aberdeen victory on a plate. The deployment of Bayne had no bearing on the defence conceding these silly goals.
We were able in the dim and distant past to win games by one nil and this is something that we must be able to do again soon.
-
Rig, please remind me, who scored for ICT tonight? If the defence hadn't been so woeful, our goal might have been meaningful.
-
I blame it all on IHE and his pseudo reverse psychology :017:
-
I feel really sorry for all the ICT fans who made the journey to Aberdeen and then had to suffer such a sorry performance. No case for the defence tonight.
Priorities for the January transfer window must be an experienced keeper and a quality central defender.
This is now two games against Aberdeen where we have made things easy for them by gifting them opportunties through silly but costly mistakes. When will we start learning from these mistakes.
-
macgint71 :clapping03: for getting the team changes spot on - good info there.
It will be very interesting to see how Bayne does tonight. I think this is a good tactical move by brewster.

Marius is extremely unlucky, due to hitting the woodwork and inspired saves, not to be on about 5 league goals by now. This situation will change very soon and once it does he will relax in front of goal and his class will be apparent to one and all. I've been impressed with him so far and I have every confidence that he will be an important player for us.
-
No doubt about it, Darren's departure has had a drastic impact to our once solid defence. It was great, therefore, that we managed to keep the first clean sheet this season in the league. The defence yesterday appear to have cut out the stupid mistakes that have blighted this season so far - long may this continue.
-
Agree with all of the above, he looked the part and did his prospects no harm. He's always done a good job for us when called upon.
-
Well done Dennis :021: Scoring 100 goals is a fantastic achievement - I wonder if it will ever be repeated by another ICT striker?
-
A draw will be a reasonable result. The midfield must control this match and not give Gretna any encouragement.
-
I have not been happy with some , aspects of Fraser's play such as his positioning and decision making in many games this season, I therefore think Brewster was justified in replacing him (although I would have given him another game before making the decision). Fraser will be back but some time on the bench will do him no harm.
As far as Zibi is concerned, yes it was a bad mistake (and the defence didn't exactly cover themselves in glory) but we must play him against Gretna. The defence must also learn how to defend - what the heck was Tokely playing at with the OG. Some of the defending this season has been shocking.
-
I had the great pleasure to be at 46 of these games. I just hope I'm there to witness the 100th.
Can we beat Aberdeen on Wednesday?
in Caley Thistle

I don't recall there being that much snow on the pitch :024:
