  1. Assuming the games are all league games, the stats make interesting reading

Terry Butcher average 1.19 pts per game BUT 1.33 at ICT- 1.24 at Motherwell despite problems!

Craig Brewster average 1.13pts per game BUT 1.24 at ICT (1.38 first time, 1.14 second time)

Charlie Christie average 1.09 pts per game

John Robertson average 1.46 pts per game BUT 1.72 at ICT

Steve Paterson average 1.86 pts per game BUT 1.74 at ICT ( He also averaged 1.2 at Aberdeen)

Sergei Baltacha average (no stats) pts per game

I do realise that JR and SP were in different times but our current manager considering he came in when we were in freefall, seems to be doing OK

  2. I do realise you are a big contributer to the forum but you will accept that when I say 'some of the fans' I may not always include you.

[Pedantry Alert]But you didn't say "some of the fans" you said "100% of the fans".[/Pedantry Alert]

    ^_^

I thought you had accepted Alex's correction of my statement, "100% of the fans that had posted a team selection" - I concede that with the wide difference of opinions on here, knowing what 100% of the fans think on any matter would be difficult!

Alex point taken, I am now off to have a wee liquid refreshment(well it is mid afternoon!) and leave this matter in more knowledgeable hands.

  3. absent friend can you not just accept you were wrong ?

    1) I have merely pointed out the hypocrisy of some of the fans in picking this player for the LB slot in the upcoming game selection and then coming on here stating he is not fit to wear an ICT shirt.

    Where am I wrong??

You are wrong in that I have never, ever said I wish LDZ to be part of our starting lineup. If I have never said it, I'm pretty certain there are others in the same boat - thus blowing your "100%" stat out of the water.

I do realise you are a big contributer to the forum but you will accept that when I say 'some of the fans' I may not always include you.

  4. I thought maybe playing with 10 men relegated us but maybe since it was not Zadi that was sent off, it does not count!

How did playing with 10 men relegate us? As I recall, we played for a long time with 10 men comfortably, without conceding, no? What relegated us was a poor cross from where LDZ should have been defending, being scrappily knocked in by Higdon.

I love your footballing managerial style.

Playing with 10 men does not create a problem for my team, ICT are comfortable with a man short.

Would we have scored with another player on the park - 10 men does not create a problem to my team!

Would we have defended better with another defender on the park - no way, Rossco hides in a match anyway!

10 men made no difference folks - believe me - it was all Zadi's fault.

    Aye Right!

    .

  5. absent friend can you not just accept you were wrong ?

I at no time defended Zadi for his play on Saturday - you are welcome to trawl the threads to ascertain that.

    I made three points.

    1) I have merely pointed out the hypocrisy of some of the fans in picking this player for the LB slot in the upcoming game selection and then coming on here stating he is not fit to wear an ICT shirt.

    2) Stating that booing him helps in some way.

    3) If he was subbed we somehow would have won the game on Saturday when all our players were below par or, God forbid, Ross County were better than us.

    Where am I wrong??

    .

  6. - I shouldn't have to specifically mention that the goal that relegated us was his fault?

Let's hope that Golly comes in ready to do the business and show up LDZ for the wanabee that he is!

I thought maybe playing with 10 men relegated us but maybe since it was not Zadi that was sent off, it does not count!

  7. I totally understand the hurt on Saturday, I also understand the human need to find a scapegoat but players do have good and not so good days and management only have so many subs they can use in any game.

Perhaps if he were subbed early we would have won 10-0 because, let's face it, Ross County weren't very good and changing that one player would have made all the difference.

Perhaps booing him earlier would have made him play so much better, so it could be the fans fault.

I have a problem with this anti Zadi feeling because, as I have already stated, even Zadi's biggest critic, IHE, has this year, in his after match smileys, supported Zadi and has picked him as his selection at LB for upcoming games and Zadi has been picked as a team member for upcoming games by 100% of the fans on this forum this year!

'Lionel is a liability and not good enough for inverness, FACT!'

Wise in hindsight comes to mind!!

Your bit in bold is simply not true. Not even close.

Jay, if I had stated almost 100% would that have made you agree with the rest of my post??

Can I assume that it is only this statistic you differ with.

You accept he allowed Ross County win the game, that the booing was inspirational for the player and everyone and their cat, knew he was going to perform badly on the day.

    .

  8. Well it looks like a lot of people agree with me. Lionel is a liability and not good enough for inverness, FACT! However, i dont think booing him is the right way forward. I would have suggested loaning him out however that time has come and gone. Now that golly has returned, lionel will be dropped no doubt and our defense is stronger for that

  9. IMO what you have described IS mutual consent.

Dale "I need first team football"

Butch "You ain't gonna get that here, find a new club and we won't stand in your way"

    Dale "Okay"

    Mutual

Caley D 'In any other profession it would be called Constructive Dismissal.'

I may not condone the way it was done, IF this be correct but I would think that every Saturday there is grounds for constructive dismissal as players are left out of teams where they feel they have a right to play.

Managers must put players in the picture re their future at the club if they are to be fair and this will then allow that player to map out their future within the game.

Sometimes a move backwards/sideways is really a move forward in the longer term and let's hope Dales experience at the moment, although hurtful, will lead to better things for him.

Do we accept this presentation at face value and slate our manager for ehhhhhh- doing his job?

    .

  10. I am all for booing players. If they are playing disgustingly bad, I will let them know they are.

I feel sure the said player will be very grateful to you for pointing out his inability to play to your standards, using the full force of your constructive assistance.

    .

  11. I think most fans can accept defeat. I think it was the performance, in a derby match, rather than the result that annoyed folk. Certainly me.

I can easily take defeat... up to a certain point. Like YaBoy said, its the performance that affected people more. I am not sure about the rest of you's, but i feel that the team come out the tunnel expecting to win rather than giving 110%. The just seem to lay back knowing that they are much better. We are much better than most teams in Division 1 but we need to apply more team chemisty if we want to get anywhere. The only hard working players in our team just now are Bulvitus, Hayes and Eagle. Its like the rest have given up. Butcher needs to sort out the team fast.

I just hope that the team change their attitude before Fans change there mind about them (or Butcher) and after out first defeat, some people already hate Terry. Do people expect to go a whole season without a defeat????

I rest my case!! Throw toys out of the pram because 'I don't like it'

    .

  12. The late John White of Falkirk,Scotland and latterly of Spurs fame, could be seen playing billiards regularly at Hunter's in High Street, while in the army during the late 1950's.

In the early 50's Gordon Smith of Hibs & Scotland fame(don't know if he played in England) used to visit his relatives in the Mission House in Culcabock - now the Fluke's carpark - and participated in a kick about in the 'bunkers' - the area of the golf course just over the gate at the top of the Fluke lane.

  13. I am amazed at the degree of support for the negative threads on here, resulting from a loss of one game.

I realise that the loss was to 'THE ENEMY' but we are all big boys and girls and should be able to accept that our team can be defeated at times or are we?

This reaction therefore makes me wonder if ICT supporters as well as being 'tut tutters' 'sweetie paper rustlers' are also, especially the younger ones, gutless supporters, who are unable to accept defeat.

You know the type that Mummy and Daddy always allowed to win at Ludo/Cards/etc so that they would not be upset and attack poor Teddy!

Now able to use the PC they use this heritage to expect their bigger game, supporting ICT, to be a win, win, result too.

Well this is not the way of the world, hard knocks happen and have to be taken on the chin, so please, please, stop bitching and behaving as if you were from over the bridge!!

    .

  14. I think if I were Butcher and MM reading this, my ear would be to the ground for the chance of a move away before the easily lead, fickle Inverness fans, go to town once more, on their forum.

Let's move this on, you, the fans, have now managed to undermine our management team so where does this leave us?

Obviously there are no comparable managers about that will come to a club with this fickle fan base to move them on.

As manager after manager is offloaded, and this fact is becoming more evident, our team is on a downward spiral to division three, lacking good long term management, making the chance of recruiting a decent manager even more remote.

This small minority of posters will, by then, have done their work on this forum having lead the fickle fans by the nose and returned to their first love, Ross County, with their mission accomplished.

Remember it is always easier to disrupt from within than without.

  15. Mike,

I took a quick look at the Dundee 'team for' thread and guess what? Your dead right, 100% included Zadi in their line up.

Now they would have him in the Firth rather than in our side.

'Fans' - who would have them?

As no doubt the big guy is thinking to day - with 'fans' like we have at ICT, visiting teams don't need support the home 'fans ' do the job for them.

  16. What is also to be remembered is that the players may be very young, in mind as well as years, desperate to get home to their computer games. Footballing ability does not always equate to high IQ.

To assume they are motivated by Ross County coming to play or the potential loss of a win bonus when they are already enjoying a (local) celeb life style is way off the mark.

A degree of 'maturity', in my opinion, could be created by Rossco/Munro/Esson/Foran wanting their win bonus and, in no uncertain terms, making the younger players aware of this.

The management can only really motive if the raw material is there to be receptive, I don't think this is always in abundance in young footballers, hence the Alex Ferguson cup throwing management requirement.

  17. Lack of local home grown players in our squad?

I think you could be correct!

I am daft enough to think that if Rossco was on the field he would have instilled, by example and verbally, what it was all about and given the rest a lead.

  18. I suggest that the posters on this thread have a look at 'TEAM FOR COUNTY' thread and see how many 'fans' selections EXCLUDED Zadi.

Maybe even the odd poster now stating he is a liability included him in their team.

I must confess that I feel he should be rested with Hastings back in, due to the unusual way ICT 'fans' have in showing their support.

  19. You only need one or two of our team to be 'off' in a game or one or two of their team to be 'up' - for a big difference to be experienced BUT if both occur in the same match a big gulf can be seen.

The players that are 'off' then put the others under so much additional pressure that their play becomes suspect as well.

This raises the one big question - WHY AGAINST THE TINKS!!

  20. It's a fairly relaxed thing, basically the bar is open, you can have a bite to eat and watch some footie on the box..... much like going to any other football/social club before a game. You then have the free cuppa and a pie at HT and can wander back in after the game for a pint while the crowds/traffic clear.

I assume you've got a pass/membership for Saturday? For those not aware of it, the club are doing a one day membership for the C*unty game for ?10 and if you like it and decide to join up they'll knock the ?10 off the full price.

Aye, it's my birthday on Saturday; so my dad has bought match tickets for us, along with the Kingsmill club 1 match pass.

Quite looking forward to seeing part of the club i've never seen before!

Well, young Sir, was this a good Birthday pressie (forget the football)??

Is this facility to be recommended at the price?

  21. He was convicted by a Scottish Court DC, I expect they decided there was enough proof. The majority of Americans are decent hard working people, however some are manipulated by their media as are some of us.

Talking about media manipulation, I'm still puzzled by the waving of the Scottish Saltires to greet Megrahi at Tripoli Airport...

Where did these people get these flags from? Are they on sale at every other corner shop in Tripoli? I don't think so.

I did see a suggestion in the Scotsman the other day, that factions of the media brought these flags to the Libyans, in an attempt to discredit Scotland and make the story more sensational.

I wouldn't put it past them.

    How true!!

My home from home at the start of the Irish troubles was the Press Club in Edinburgh. The returning reporters having spent their expenses, needed column inches and, by their own admission, paid youngsters to wear an OF scarf, kept for the task and throw stones through the window of an opposition supporter, making certain the colours were spotted.

In no time stones were flying between factions, the wee boy paid, the photos taken, the required number of words written, on the plane and home, the editor satisfied, leaving mayhem behind them.

    Callous or what?

As we all know now the escalation was hellish, the presses fault? Maybe.

Advantage taken of the situation by people with bigger agendas? That's for sure!

Strike a cord re the current situation?

    .

  22. Dont get me wrong, i know there are plenty of good Americans, but I also know there are plenty of **** from Scotland. Scotland is a very small minded country. But i am not decided on the issue, but one things for sure, i am not going to say this guy is guilty as i belive there is more to this than has been told and i think he has been used as a scapegoat.

Don't bother rattling my cage young laddie!!

The average Irishman, in the home he calls his castle, slips into his national costume, a shabby raincoat, patented by chemist Charles Macintosh from Glasgow, Scotland. En route to his office he strides along the lane, surfaced by John Macadam of Ayr, Scotland.

He drives a car fitted with tyres invented by John Boyd Dunlop of Dreghorn, Scotland, arrives at the station and boards a train, the forerunner of which was a steam engine, invented by James Watt of Greenock, Scotland. He then pours himself a cup of coffee from a thermos flask, the latter invented by Dewar, a Scotsman from Kincardine-on-Forth.

At the office he receives the mail bearing adhesive stamps invented by James Chalmers of Dundee, Scotland.

During the day he uses the telephone invented by Alexander Graham Bell, born in Edinburgh, Scotland.

At home in the evening his daughter pedals her bicycle invented by Kirkpatrick Macmillan, blacksmith of Dumfries, Scotland.

He watches the news on his television, an invention of John Logie Baird of Helensburgh, Scotland, and hears an item about the U.S. Navy, founded by John Paul Jones of Kirkbean, Scotland.

He has by now been reminded too much of Scotland and in desperation he picks up the Bible only to find that the first man mentioned in the good book is a Scot, King James VI, who authorised its translation.

Nowhere can an Irishman turn to escape the ingenuity of the Scots.

He could take to drink, but the Scots make the best in the world.

He could take a rifle and end it all but the breech-loading rifle was invented by Captain Patrick of Pitfours, Scotland.

If he escapes death, he might then find himself on an operating table injected with penicillin, which was discovered by Alexander Fleming of Darvel, Scotland, and given an anaesthetic, which was discovered by Sir James Young Simpson of Bathgate, Scotland.

Out of the anaesthetic, he would find no comfort in learning he was as safe as the Bank of England founded by William Paterson of Dumfries, Scotland.

Perhaps his only remaining hope would be to get a transfusion of guid Scottish blood which would entitle him to ask "Wha’s Like Us".

But we do have to put up with strange neighbours!

For the record - the majority of the US citizens do not even hold a Passport! Scots small minded?- P*ss off unless you are referring to Dornoch!
