Duncan Offski??
Russell is a very decent hard working player. However, so is Caff, Golly. Liam, Michael, Richie, Zander, Rory, etc etc but unfortunately there are but 11 spaces each game. In this league a suspension, a few poor games or an injury can be the passport to losing one's place. That is true even in the 'big' clubs. Russell, you need to go away and increase your training or watch more Blackadder films! You should be in the holding role in midfield and only you can get back in by your efforts. Caff, for instance, has alerted his Uncle at Barnsley FC that Darren is out of contract in May.

BREWSTER'S FAMOUS QUOTES
At the end of the day the chairman is looking for results," Brewster said. ''We need some wins, and quickly."

Derek Spillie, that has a nice ring to it.

BREWSTER'S FAMOUS QUOTES
"I keep asking for a reaction. At the end of the day it doesn't matter how good you are, you can only work with the tools you've got..... and people will maybe question me, whether I've got the ability. I had the ability at Inverness. Those boys responded to me brilliantly. But at Dundee United it is not happening.'' Confirmation that Craig believes he is superman and his players mediocre.

Hilarious Reading
This thread gets better every time you read bits. The one I really like is about getting rid of all the current players and someone else noticing they wouldn't have a team if that happened. This time last year Livingston were like Dads Army - Flynn said ' there's no need to panic, Paul has my full confidence!!' They didn't bother to panic and slipped away quite quietly in the end. ET is a very good accountant and he's cottoned on that -£2m + Brewster is a far worse scenario than -£500k - Brewster+Malky. I think Brewster has worked that out. The question is which two unfortunate teams will lose to Dundee United in their next 27 league games? Brews probably up the Heathmount this very minute dreading tomorrow's training.

Teflon Tokely
He was chopped for the free kick that lead to the winner - Rossco is a talisman and winner representing team spirit not overpaid egos.

BREWSTER'S FAMOUS QUOTES
He refused to pledge that he could turn round the situation, however. “I’d like to say yes, but at the end of the day when you go 27 games with two wins you’ve got to question everything about the club. It’s obviously not been happening, maybe we just aren’t good enough. '' Inspirational eh!!! ''.....to be fair, I never thought we looked like winning today.''

BREWSTER'S FAMOUS QUOTES
Inverness tried very hard to keep us, with a contract offer through to 2009, but I just feel there's great potential at Dundee United," continued Brewster. "The fans believe they should be better than where they are because there are good players, but I say the league position never lies. But there is potential - a great stadium, good training facilities, a great fan-base and, sure, they've got some decent players. "They will have a lot to live up to if they are to give me as much as the Caley Thistle players gave me. Fitness is massive for me. If you're not fit and strong, you lose more games. '' The importance of every little sign and detail was the motivation for Brewster’s attempt to ventilate a stadium he came to regard as a Colditz on Sandeman Street. “I came in at pre-season and got all the bars taken off the windows at Tannadice. They were security bars, but the windows are too high up for that to be an issue. And we got all the windows cleaned. I brought it on myself to change that because the place was like a prison. No disrespect, but it was a prison. It was brutal at times. Brutal. I got a new floor in. Got the place painted. New pictures in, glossy pictures of previous players. Anything to get a freshness about the place.”

simply the best
It's like a good wine getting better with age. Jim Calder certainly pulled off some cracking saves. Hopefully someone will post the video of Viduka throwing his boots at his boss in due course. 10 points behind Rangers and out of the Cup - how times change. Rangers 10 points behind Celtic and becoming the first Scottish side to beat an Italian side away. We owe a lot to those who fought adversity and created ICT. Now we have to extract points from Falkirk and St Mirren.

BREWSTER'S FAMOUS QUOTES
As Alex Smith headed in a permanent downward spiral his media quotes became more and more cliche ridden and predictable. So what are your favourite quotes from the great man (as the grim reaper Sturrock awaits!)? For instance, after putting an unfit Lee Wilkie on the bench for the visit of Celtic to add presence to his team he witnessed 26 out of 28 games where he did not get a win. His team, bereft of talent because only Craig Brewster can play football even at 40, sunk to the bottom. After his reserves won this week his classic in the Evening Telegraph was '“It shows there is competition for first-team places, which is something we need.” Well done Craig!

England supporters have gone quiet....
A few seconds after the divot moved after a well trained mole passed underneath, Steve MacLaren went straight to his notebook - let's hope he didn't write 'Check to see if Mark Brown has an English granny'.

McSwegan Non Story in the HN.
Planet Mars is in fact 800 metres down the road from the Stadium. They must dream stories as they watch the dolphins play.

Dargo welcomes contract talks
We probably have the most honest bunch of players in the SPL. Craig has experienced some very serious lows in his career and I am sure these experiences mean a false big money move could be a disaster. At his age he could be more into oblivion than O'Riordan because there might be no way back. For those who do not see him coming off the pitch either for substitutions or at the end he is the most serious of any player. He always looks totally angry with his performance for the Club or team.

HA HA - Look at Elgin City now!
Against County, Charlie always had a kind word of advice for Irvine. Charlie will be speaking to Sir Alex this weekend at Gleneagles. What message should he text Brian?

Invitation to Inverness Courier
Will the Editor please speak to whoever continues to peddle the assumption that Mark Brown is most likely to be our first full Internationalist. Please ask him to venture under the Bridge around the corner to Caledonian Stadium to check whether Richard Hastings became our first full Internationalist. If the Courier mean Scottish, please insert that in future reports to correct a recurring error. Then for good measure, add 'whilst playing for the Club' so that our neighbours can appreciate that McSwegan, a former Scottish Internationalist, is not the first Internationalist to play for us. And for good measure, please ensure you state professional because Richie Hart is a Semi-Professional Internationalist.

O'Riordon
Agree with IHE - Zander looked very impressive in his cameo role against Dunfermline. Equally Rory is only a brilliant goal away from leading the line on a regular basis. If we bring in mercenaries we change the culture of the club. We develop our own unless we find hungry guys looking to add to ICT's traditions. Riordan whinged and whinged at Hibs for a big money move. Many players have screwed up through greed and unrealistic ambition. It was one reason we offered Ian Black advice to get his game right before taking a move.

Hearts 4 - Dundee Utd 0
If you are a big team you have to start somewhere. Celtic home in their next game whilst Motherwell entertain Dunfermline. United will have a chance to show the SPL where their old firm training regime has taken them. Bottom place! A swap with Gretna would be Brewster's next target. Thank goodness they don't want to become a diddy team like us.

Dundee United sign player without ICT experience!!!
The Scotsman Dundee Utd Grant Smith has agreed a short-term deal with the Terrors after he impressed during a trial at Tannadice (BBC Online). The 26 year-old midfielder was a free agent after being released by Bristol City. Craig Brewster welcomed the new man, saying: "Subject to clearance, Smith will turn out for the reserves tomorrow. All being well, he will be included in the squad for Sunday's game against Hearts." Insert mean-spirited crack about Smith never having played for Caley Thistle here. Craig Brewster has revealed he's going to cut back on his playing duties so he can concentrate more on running the team (Sun). He said: "I enjoy it more when I'm on the sidelines, so the ideal scenario from now on is either to be a substitute or out of it altogether." And think of it Craig, you'll have even more time to scout Inverness Caley players. I really must get over this obsession.

ICT V Dunfermline
We may be just four points off the bottom which is clearly better than 2 if it had been 0-0 so lets be positive. Rossco really wanted the win yesterday. He will inspire others to want to win and by that I mean guys like Rankin who's finding it quite hard at this level. Barry has been driving like **** to get breakthroughs. Mark and the back four worked very hard as a team yesterday. That's four league games without defeat. Rangers is a massive game because they will regroup after the internationals and will prove very dangerous. We could be Kilmarnock supporters today! Or Elgin or Forfar or Ross County supporters. We do give the impression that behind the current malaise which has its roots in Brewsters unethical and childish behaviour, that sooner rather than later, we will up the work rate and produce a great performance.

Dicky Hastings
He left for Champions League experience eventually. Mark Brown may well leave at the end of this season and he should get a ,assive thank you. Denzil and Barry have both gone out and improved their pension rights.

Aberdeen game moved to Monday 6th November
Charlie is right about the TV money being greatfully received. I can see both sets of fans having grievances and we might lose money. We have a great chance to get a first win if Aberdeen continue to whinge.

Congratulations to the Wee County
They are in a cup final after beating the mighty Albion Rovers 4-1.

WHICH REFEREE HAS THE SHORTEST MEMORY IN SCOTLAND?
Alan Freeland to Falkirk's Stephen O'Donnell 'Have you been booked already?' The ref asked me the most stupid question ever,” O’Donnell said. “He asked if I’d been booked already. I said ‘no’.”
