  1. Aye they were checking handbags of two women in front of me the old folks are an easy target it is no surprise that the young ones manage to get in with smoke bombs!
  2. Another oldie can you name the players?
  3. On the way down to the football today I was looking at the old houses left going along Harbour Road and at the rear of 3 Lotland there is a metal staircase to number 4 so the old house is split into flats.
  4. He is not a manager and never will be only interested in the money he is making!
  5. IBM

    Mark Ridgers

And it's good luck from me for the future Mark in football or other employment it's just shocking the way you were treated by our club.
  6. I will get my ticket and go to support the team for this game tomorrow.
  7. Yes it was a common thing and it is worse in the modern days and most are suicide unfortunately. If it happens to a train driver 3 times he or she is retired on full pay which the rail unions were fighting to keep in recent years.
  8. Thanks snorbens I remembered the story just not where I had seen it The old soapworks and cottages are long gone Lotland Place is opposite the old dock on the 1872 map. There are only 5 houses left on Cromwell Street including 2 that was the Citadel Bar PH on the 1904 map and 2 behind them on Lotland Place. 3 Lotland Place is still there it is beside BM 13.3 on the 1904 map and Cromwell Cottage is the second on the right going north round the slight bend opposite the remains of the old fort which is still there. There are not many houses in Innes Street on the 1872 map but by 1904 all the houses are built and would be full to bursting to the seams! From the 1911 census No64 was split into two properties and the McLeod family were two adults and five children in two rooms.
  9. Rather than go off topic on the other thread I have started this one. I remember reading the story about snorbens great grandfather that was killed by the train but can't remember where, it might have been at the Local History forum so if it was there weeman will remind me My wife's great grandfather Adam McLeod a sailmaker from Wick lived in number 64 from 1898 to 1936 after a short stay at Cromwell Cottage on Lotland Street. He was a wagon cover maker with the railway and one of his sons William started as a carriage cleaner and went on to be a plate layer with the railway.
  10. A couple of books that might have been on here before.
  11. I am just going to get a ticket for each game even though it might cost more as I am so pi**ed off with the way the club has been dealing with everything!
  12. Yes indeed a great player for us exciting to watch running with the ball and scoring goals just brilliant compared to the style of football we have now.
  13. No
  14. There was a flight came in from Bournemouth yesterday which is unusual. But whatever investors are out there I don’t have any faith in our current custodians at the club managing to get a deal done as their track record speaks for itself. I would be happy to be proved wrong though.
  15. I have to agree DF has failed the club although we are stuck with him he might be a coach but after the way outgoing players were treated he is NO manager!
  16. Oh those memories I think it will be the same turgid football as last season simply because that’s the way Ferguson wants to play regardless of who we have in the team.
  17. Not very enthusiastic about the start of the season but will be following the scores today with fingers crossed
  18. I hope it is true but it might just be more spin that SG is giving him we are waiting patiently
  19. Who knows as the club do not release any information even although we have a communications director on the board although he might no be there now as they don't keep the information updated on companies house! The appeal is in and reported on the BBC news in the name of the football club but from what I now believe the club only has 1% holding in the battery farm, the whole thing stinks! Inverness Caley Thistle appeals against battery park decision - BBC News
  20. Morgan Boyes and Zak Delaney join Nathan Shaw at Morton.
  21. With all that’s going on behind closed doors and reading bits on other threads about changes on the board and not recorded I am not renewing until the club and those running it make a clear statement as to what’s happening and who will be running it. I will purchase a ticket on a week to week basis and more than happy to support the team.
  22. All very shady I think
  23. I agree totally Alan but unfortunately we are stuck with him
  24. That's me logged in £5 is ok to watch the game on a wet afternoon at home.
  25. That's why we are in such a mess the people that are running our club are useless
