Oakley ahead of Baird every time for me, but Gary Warren would be better up front than either. Throw Daniel Mackay in there for the knock-downs and who knows what could happen. If 16 year olds can break into the Hearts first team then why not for us?

His run up the pitch to score the winning goal in the Cup Final is the memory we should let linger in our hearts for eternity
It was the only thing positive I ever said about him. Before that I was cringing and saying no, not him when he was standing on the touch line ready to come on at Hampden.

Glad to get some info on what state the pitch is in and thoughts on the game being on or off. The heavy rain earlier tonight won't have helped, but we could really do with this game being on and getting three points on the board.

Yes, I wish I could make it on Thursdays from 1 - 2.30pm at Hilton Community Centre. A few familiar faces there too. Is that Richard Hastings back row far right?

Best bit of business so far this season. For me he's been our best player in nearly every game he's started.

According to Robbo last week Zschusschen will be like a new signing, when he eventually gets fit. ?

Yes, that's all very well but doesn't explain who has given permissions for use of the car parks as vehicle compounds for Thrifty. Check the Council Planning Applications part of the website and you'll see that no applications have been lodged. Nothing in Council committee minutes of the Common Good allowing that use either.

So what chance of it being on this Tuesday? If the pitch wasn't covered up to make it playable for yesterday it will have frozen snow on it. Can't see that shifting in the next 48 hours if the USH isn't used.

Well it is the panto season so don't expect common sense.
Personally I'm hoping the game is on as I need a good reason for avoiding Christmas shopping.

Back to the topic ........ I'd just like to wish my ex colleague Gordie all the best and look forward to seeing what materialises and bending his ear about a few things.

The tail end of Storm Caroline?

The last 5 or 6 posts say it all. That old summer football chestnut has come up again too, but I'm not convinced it is the answer given that we barely get 1000 for July League Cup matches nor do we have the lucrative pre-season friendlies against bigger clubs to pull in the potential new fans at that time of year.
On the bright side, our newly appointed Director, Gordie Fyfe, may have some good PR ideas and help with better communications between the Board and the fans.

Team are out in Newcastle tonight for a bit of r & r. I hope they have a great night. Well done today in the circumstances. Team spirit is thriving and long may it continue.
Yes and obviously making up for being deprived of food and liquid during yesterday`s traffic delay. A long enough journey without what happened.
I also agree with Robert's comment above about the A9 dualling taking too long. I can't see it being completed in 2025 despite what Scottish Ministers believe.

1. Warren, Bell and Doran.
2. Adam Rooney and Billy Mckay - I know we probably couldn't afford them but their current clubs don't seem to see them as first choice any more.

I still have a headache and next to no voice from all the shouting I did at the ref. I was seething and was still mumping long after I watched the recording of Scotland whipping the Wallabies at Murrayfield.

Whilst we are still on track to be gifted the stands, the statement makes it appear likely that our landlord is hoping to develop the current car parks into something else. What’s that all about?
They started turning them into a car and mini-bus hire storage lots months ago.

All very quiet about this match. I assume it's still on. Perhaps a chance to rest a few or push on to extend the clean sheets record?
My selection is as follows: -
C MacKay
Raven B McKay Donaldson Tremarco
Mulraney Trafford Vigurs Doran
Bell Oakley
Subs
Ridgers Warren Chalmers Seedorf Polworth BaIrd D MacKay

Can they score goals? Should be good at headers...
Probably more chance of scoring than Baird or Oakley. ??

Yes and his link play with Gary Warren at centre forward would be interesting.

Winning ugly was something we couldn't do under RF. Otherwise we might still have been in the Premiership. Job done tonight even if we did ride our luck in defence and without a goalscoring centre forward.
Crusaders away, yes, as long as we don't use a Flybe Bombadier 800 to travel. Might be safer to take the ferry.

County had a fairly strong starting line up and I thought we did very well with a totally new starting XI.
What I find amusing is the Ross-shire press and some posters on the Jail End thread on Overthebridge thinking that it was more or less our strongest XI that played. Shows how much they know.

Much improved from 5 weeks ago, yes, but oh how we desperately need a forward who can score regularly taking these chances being created by our resurgent and rampant midfield. The misses by Mulraney and Bell were woeful. That said I didn't see how Bell was off-side for his "goal" in the first half.
I see that Alex Fisher was warming the bench yet again for Motherwell on Saturday. This may increase our chances of getting him back (at least on loan) in January.

Big cup game on the Saturday after, hence why low key and our fringe players more likely to be involved?
Baird or Oakley

Just like John Baird then.
