  1. The club this year have a new season ticket, specifically aimed at families and it's for the uncovered main stand.

1 adult and 2 children for £220 for the season.

£42 for an adult and a child would equate to well over £700 a season.

Perhaps you could purchase this season ticket without breaking the bank, get your seat in the main stand and without turnstile hassle. Even if you only made 4 more games this season on those tickets, it's cheaper than paying £42 per game.

Less than the price of a single adult in the North Stand (family section) and works out at around £11.50 a game, which is a fantastic price no question, but I'm not too sure for how long the kids would want to keep going in times of less favourable weather!

  2. I understand that taking kids to the game can end up being pricey if you are travelling, parking, getting the food, which let's be honest is poor for the price, programme is now 50p so it ain't so bad. But if you can make the games based on 19 home games in the North Stand (family section) for an under 12 it works out at £2.10 a game! A season ticket for the price of an xbox game. For a 13 to 16 year old it works out at £4.70 a game and finally 16 - 25 anywhere in the North Stand it would be about £9.50. Of course that's if you make the games. TBH that's on par with the cinema and you don't always know if you are going to enjoy what you see there either! Fair enough if you have 5 kids but personally I don't think that's too bad value so long as they enjoy it of course!

  3. Nice to see the Main vs North issuse come up again. I rather enjoyed the view from the Main Stand for a change even remembered to bring my sunglasses, quieter yes but my mood may have been helped by the 4 pints I had in hospitality before. I actually think that the North Stand lads haven't been as vocal since they moved to Section E from G strange as the stewards seem to be leaving them to it these days. Kille fans sounded in reasonable voice considering there was so few of them.

Anyway, North v Main only one way to find out who's best...

  5. Someone said some local rangers fans who usually give us support have boycotted us. Sod them, we don't need them.

Also some of the 'neautrals' are now going to see 'that lot' over the bridge. Sod them and their half hearted loyalty. We don't need these groups and need to forget about them.

Our focus and priorities should be the community and youth of Inverness! We should be making sure that the youngsters of inverness are growing up supporting ICT and not the OF or 'that lot'. The club and. CJT need too work very closely on this! £16 for a concession is shocking! It was £3 for me when I was a kid only 10 years ago.

I also remember when I was younger my PS used to give out 3 free tickets per year for each home game. This allowed kids who normally wouldn't go to games come more often. The club did under 12 free ST not so long ago, why not now?

Lastly, I'm a part time youth worker in hilton and of the 40-50 kids who come to indoor footy on a friday night only 5 go to ICT games. FIVE!!! That's shocking, we are failing the youth of inverness and we need to encourage them along!

It might mean losing money for a while giving out free tickets or charging £3 for kids BUT it will repay in the FUTURE when they keep coming back and bring THEIR kids!

Funnily I was thinking about this yesterday as I also do youth work in Hilton, Merkinch and Kirkhill. I often have young people asking why I support ICT as they are 'rubbish'. Out of the young people that have an interest in footie I'd guess that around 80% support the old firm, 10% or so ICT and the rest being a mix of the Dons, Jambos etc. Throw some Clachers into the mix for the Merkinch youth club, which to be fair is their local club and some actually play for them. To say nothing for the number of EPL shirts I see too.

Some of the young people have come from or have parents that have come from other places so it's not surprising if for example their dad came from Glasgow that they would support one of the OF. However many are Inverness born and bred but you would probably find that their parents, older uncles, brothers etc will support the OF and that will be passed down unless something is done to divert away from that. That's where we have to intervene getting young people down to the stadium for a game, tour meet a couple of players etc. It's never going to be easy as it's ultimately cool to support a team that wins most of the time, is on tv, in the papers and no young person wants to be slagged of due to their team getting beat much of the time. No easy solutions sadly but you have to keep plugging away!

I say this from some personal experience as I supported Rangers in my younger years (as my Grandad supported them and Clach, dad had no interest in footie) and pre 94 Caley were my wee team (as my uncle Ben was a big Caley man who took me to Telford St sometimes, now a refusnik!). When I got older 17ish I basically fell out of love with football altogether and it wasn't till I was in my early twenties that I started taking notice of the ICT results and went to some away games as I was living in Glasgow. When I moved back to Inverness I bought a ST and have done so since.

Anyhoo I will continue to try and spread the good word of ICT in whatever capacity I'm working! :ictscarf:

  6. I was gonna say hello but you seemed deep in conversation with someone near reception. Plus the missus was telling me to get a move on so we could pick up the rugrat. :whip:

  7. Does anyone else think that it should have been a red. I personally think a yellow would have been enough for that silly antics. Let me know what you think.

Might want to have a look at the match thread for some folk's views.

  8. How to we place a regular order for those of us away from base camp ? I am sure like many others that I would be only too willing to pay the extra for the postage etc. as long as the spondoolicks are going to the club.

Perhaps there should be a Dear Johndo page for psycholgical support and education ?

Can't wait to see the Dear Johndo page lol

I would subscribe to it for that alone!!

  9. Some fair points there, and there's no question it was a woeful (and quite embarrassing) attendance. However if you are going to have a go at others (groups or individuals) for not being pro-active enough and doing more to bolster support you really should be presenting ideas yourself no? Why not join CJT (only a quid for life) or contact the club and tell them what they should be doing better.

Where is the benefit in me joining it? I would quite happily contact the people involved and tell them what they should be doing better. Do you really think they doing everything they can?

The benefit surely would be that you could help improve the club's standings with the supporters. You're of course entitled to your view but you are going to make more of a difference working through a group with hundreds of members than a post in the internet. I don't know much about CJT as I only joined the other week, but to knock folk trying to help the club voluntarily is sad imo.

  11. owain with his history of knee injuries i think it played on his mind, for me that seems totally out of carachter.

You would think with the time he has spent on the sidelines already he'd not want to end up straight back there by his own doing.

true. and im not defending it but, seems out of carachter and i think fans booing him off the pitch was wrong aswell, give the guy a chance or petes sake, he was excellent last week and up until the incident was great today, dont judge owain by what he done under 20+ degrees, in a high pressure situation.

again it was totally out of carachter.

Dunno what the temperature has to do with it and if it was a high pressure situation already then how did is actions affect his teammates once they were down to 10 men? Perhaps you know him well but TBH I don't know OTJ's character too well was I've seen very little of him in the past year. As for the booing of him, that was pathetic, there's little I hate more than fans booing their own players.

  12. Bought the magazine, haven't read it all but what I have seemed pretty good. Some things that are in it are probably what would have been in old programme but hey £3 and the programme comes free, not too bad. The new format of the programme was a bit strange but if it makes more financial sense for the club to do it that way (and I hope it does) then great.

  13. I doubt we'll be allowed to include the incident in any highlights, and I'm not defending his reaction, but there was no raised hand, attempt to head butt or grabbing/holding of the player. Every time I heard mention of it after the game it grew worse and worse. Entirely right to have been red carded for acting in an aggressive manner, but it was little more than charging and getting right into the face of the guy.

No need for it, stupid thing to have done....but the guy had been niggling him the entire match...and that on top of the fact that OTJ has had near career ending injuries from such cynical challenges and you can perhaps understand his reaction a little more.

Don, no question from what I saw that it looked like he went to nut the guy. No idea about how much actual contact was made but the intention was there. If tv proves me wrong so be it.

  15. first look at our new team for me.

like the centre back pair. warren looks like he can be a big player for us. no confidence in either full back on show today though

midfield i thought jones was having a good game and draper has presence.

    up front oh dear

mackay cant hold the ball up, too light. means a team like killie the get possesion easily and keep for long spells

pick of the bunch for me were sutherland and doran

doran always comes sideways or turn and goes back. does not have the pace to take the opponent on or does not have the confidence to do so. head went down i thought after he should have made it 2-0 jonny hayes he is not

shane -- i will never be convinced this guy can can be a spl player.

he runs with the ball until he loses it, which is not very far. or he passes to an opponent.

had one great run though only to finish with a weak shot straight at the goalkeeper.

we should have put this game to bed after 20 mins. draper should have scored from close range, doran played in by jones i think and hits it straight at bell when it looked easier to score. rabbit in headlights comes to mind.

after that killie passed us to death without creating much, how they miss dene shiels.

should have stolen the points at the end with nick ross header.

are we so bad in front of goal or is cammy bell the best goalkeeper on the planet.

sorry to say i came away wishing i had kept my 500 quid in my pocket and not bothered buying 3 season tickets

I understand your frustration but ultimately it was one game, give it time. Fingers crossed and your decision will be proven worthwhile.

  16. Obviously I'd love a top 6 finish. Realistically though I'd be delighted with 7th to 9th place. As Luke alludes to, injuries (or lack thereof) due to our small squad will play an important part in our season. Oh and of course above the caravan dwellers!
