  1. I get the impression that Butcher would prefer to sign a big tall man who can hoof the ball away than a smaller trickier player who can play it.

Ah! Now I understand why he let Munro and Tokely go.

Dunno about Tokes but Munro's departure was less to do with on the pitch issues or styles of play and more to do with off the pitch issues.

  2. It's not a question of punishment. This is a new club - it is the old club and those who are responsible for all the wrong doing who need to be punished. The point is simply that a new club should enter an established league system at the bottom and work its way up. If they are good enough they will get into division 1 in 2 years time. If they are not good enough a club that is good enough will move into division 1 instead. Meanwhile it would be quite wrong to deny a place in the the first division to a team that is good enough, who play by the rules and who therefore have earnt that place. It is exactly the same argument as that which says they have no right to be in the SPL.

    ^^^ Wot he said.

  3. Any word on when it's out I need 4, one for my brother in law with 18 n his name, does the club do that???

If I remember correctly the club does not do numbers and names. The only place in the Sneck that does official ones as far as I know is the Celtic shop (sadly).

  4. Oh but we are in a position to sign the Ian Black's of this world, just you wait and see

    Wait and see what exactly?

Courier article of 8th June? Though the position would depend on his value of his worth, ICT's abiity, or even willingness to pay it........and whether anybody else wants him.

I believe blackie will be on everyone's wish list in Scotland this summer with the exception to Celtic. I can see him going to rangers if everything works out for them or a fairly decent English team, lower championship or high league 1.

Wasn't on Heart's though, was he? Given the Courier article, doesn't look as if he has had many decent offers, else he'd not have been saying he'd consider any offer made to him by the club who couldn't afford Tokely.

I'm being mischievious here...but I really don't understand the ICT fans obsession with the past and the eternal assuming their ducklings are everybody else's swans.

Do you even know why he was released from Hearts? His wage demands were too much for them to afford so he was released. He is one of the best midfielders outwith the OF in the SPL so why wouldn't everyone fancy having him in their team. You love arguing for absolutely nothing....Do you even know who Ian Black is?

Probably 'never seen him play' IMO.

  5. http://www.thejailender.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/stadium-upgrade-continues.html

Looks like I have been proved correct once again and the above photos are evidence that the peg sellers will have a very compact and atmospheric stadium this coming season

I see the away stand is to hold just under 2000 fans it will be interesting to see if we can sell out are allocation at the up and coming highland derbies what with the falling numbers of our fans etc

IMO there's a fair chance at least one or two of these derbies will hopefully be shown live on sky sports so it would be disappointing and embarrassing to see half full stands going out to world wide audiences

    Dougal

    It's still in Dingwall though.

  6. If he scores and celebrates il boo him. If he doesnt il maintain some respect for him.

But can't say I'm happy with him.

Why shouldn't he celebrate scoring a goal for the team that pays his wages?

to show abit of respect to the fans the supported him for 16 years of his career perhaps

So no players should celebrate scoring against their former teams? (I guess the same should apply to Munro too) Depends what you regard as celebrating, a smile, a hug from teammates? I very much doubt he'd go running up to the ICT fans jumping for joy. Perhaps just a wee wave to Butcher.

Also you say you are not happy with him? I presume for moving to County, would you have been happy to help cover his mortgage, or costs for moving house instead perhaps?

not the fact he went to county, the fact he ran to the papers the instant he seen his offer.

i dont think thats the right way to go about it, a quiet word with butcher, and a goodbye in the papers, or through a club website, or something.would have surficed. the way he went to about every paper in the land and said he wasnt happy with the club, the manager etc. its not the right way to leave after 16 years.

i can understand why at our level if hes offered something better over the bridge then i have no problem with him leaving for that but its the manor that frustrates me.

Plenty of hyperbole there. Once he ceased to be in the employ of ICT (so long as he's not telling porkies) he's fully entitled to say what he wants to the papers, free country and all. You may not like what he said perhaps but that's a different matter. I may be wrong as I don't read 'every paper in the land' but I don't recall him saying he wasn't happy with the manager or the club per se but with the contract (renumeration and his position in terms of starting place).

The manner of his departure frustrates me too but for slightly different reasons. Sad really after 16 great years. :tears:

  7. OK so that's the squad/back up player signed. Who are we chasing to be the first choice?

    I despair. I really do.

I see a player who has been playing part time football until the age of 27 as a signing that might be for squad depth. I certainly won't be expecting him to walk into the team and i'd like a couple more players with a better CV at the club looking for a starting place but i will give him his chance to show what he can do. If he performs exceptionally well and earns a regular place then great, if not he'll be the back up player that we need and what we have all expected from him in the first place.

Do you? Why doesn't that surprise me? I have never read any football forum so packed with glass half full with a crack in the bottom fans that it is positively depressing. It certainly isn't particularly positive in any other way.

Clearly never been on P&B then
