  1. Foran played a poor game (not for the first time this season) although to be fair he set up the goal. But he's not the only one under performing, not by a long shot and that includes the management teams as they have brought these players in. I felt Foran was only clapping at the end and thanking the fans for sticking with the team, at least that's what I saw. People would be moaning if he just walked straight off saying that 'he isn't showing the loyals fans any gratitude' so he's damned either way.

Foran could have had 2 or three goals himself today if he put in a least half the effort that we have seen him produce. He was a liability from the start (not for the first time this season). He was over critical on more than one occasion (not for the first time this season) and he himself was probably the worst player on the park (and not for the first time this season).

For him to clap the fans at the end and try to get us all behind the team really p***** me off, because for a full 90 minutes he did nothing but stroll around the pitch and not once try and gee up the lads. There was no praise, no passion, no desire, no encouragement. Just lots of critisism to other players, even if it was he who played the initial bad pass in the first place.

We all know how close Butcher and Foran are, and for that reason I will slag off Butcher. But Foran is the club captain and should show the desire and passion in every single game, not just at the end when the fans are on his back!!!

I don't disagree with most of what you're saying. I think that he is clearly Butcher's golden boy and the manager can't see past him and will play him no matter what, but that's not Foran's fault. I do believe that unfortunately Foran is learning his leadership technique/skills from Butcher i.e. shout/moan, not really a good thing! He should be encouraging other players more yes, that would be one of the aspects I would like to see in an ICT captain, but that only goes so far. Ultimately all the players on the park are professional footballers and need to take responsibility for their own performance.

Was he really the worst player on the park or has his form just dipped more noticably due to previous good form? I have no idea why of course, is it injury, pressure, confidence or his upcoming fatherhood? Who knows. Tade has missed plenty of sitters too and has the touch of an elephant but because he runs and runs he seems to get away with most of the criticism.

People used to moan about Grantys captancy style- that he didn't say enough, was too quiet with the players etc and it would seem that people feel that we have gone from one extreme to the other which is fair enough.

At the end though (unless I missed something) I saw nothing wrong with what Foran did, as I said before if he just slinked away with his head down people would be gurning about that too. At least it was a bit more dignified than the 'fans' lining up to boo him and the other players off the park.

  2. Getting fed up of people with their love for Grant Munro and how he is what we are missing. He was a poor leader, below average overall defender and not good enough for the SPL. Today i thought Proctor played ok had to make the tackle, shame it wasn't made outside the box, but doesn't deserve the pelters he is getting today. Richie Foran was the worst player on the park today and has been like that all season, for him to come up to the fans after todays performance and tell us to keep our heads up is a joke! ill start to keep my head up when the team pulls their fingers out and start looking like they give a F**k!

You feel we're not missing a solid, reliable and committed centre half? GM not good enough for the SPL, but how many seasons has he played there? Shame Proctors tackle was in the box - PMSL thats a bit like shooting someone in the head with a gun and then in court claiming I never did anything wrong it's just a shame his head was in the way! :rotflmao:.

Never mind all will be well when- We start to gell, get injured players back, find the system that works for us, play a passing game etc etc. Not to mention the stability brought from giving TB & MM the contract extensions so early, that will hopefully kick in soon too. :slapme:

  3. Hi not sure if this is the right forum so apologies if not.

I am wanting to get my wife a good SLR Digital Camera for her xmas, well as good as ?400 to ?500 will get, perhaps something that allows better lenses to be added as her photographic prowess grows. I am totally clueless and the wife doesn't really know what she wants as just starting out as a budding photographer. Any experts on here that can assist us in making the right choice.

Dunno about cameras bud, but FYI prob should be in the general nonsense forum.

  4. I'm in a union but will not be striking. The "right" to strike is something that should be used as a last resort and is appropriate where there are more specific issues directly related to a persons employment and where management are being unreasonable. In my view it is an abuse to use the right to strike just because you don't like the way the Government is handling the national economy.

Strike action will do nothing to help the economy and will only cause loads of irritation to others and impact on the most vulnerable in our society. It is ironic that these calls for strike action should be made on the same day a serious increase in the unemployment figures was announced. Those calling for strike action should count themselves lucky they have got a job and if they don't want to do it then how about giving it up and letting those without one do it instead.

And by just what "right" do the unions think they can have a ballot of their members and then impose misery on everybody else? They may not like the result of the last election but they should respect the outcome because all the nation had the opportunity to vote in that. Of course, they have every right to show their dissatisfaction with the actions of this Government but the way to do that is to protest, and argue the case. If that doesn't prompt the Government to change policy then argue the case for an alternative approach at the next election.

I take it your pension is safe?

My own was increased a couple of years back from 4.5% to 6% to maintain the same final salary pension and my employers are going through a consultation process to increase that to 8% of my salary from January. We don't have the union at my work but many of our colleagues are members and I'd probably strike if directed to. Our working terms and conditions have deteriorated over the last few years and there has to come a point where the employer is shocked into listening.

If your work doesn't have a union how can your colleagues be in it and how can you strike if your not in a union

IIRC anyone can join most unions (tho some are only for teachers etc) you don't have to 'have one' at your place of employment.

  5. I was in Unison when I worked in Glasgow City Council, went on strike twice during that time for pension rights if I remember correctly.

Not in one anymore now that im back in Inverness and working in a completely different line of work. My old man is the boss anyway and there are only 3 employees so not much call for a union!
