snow socks are meant to be good, BUT as with chains you have to stop and put them on PALAVA then stop in a couple metres take them off again PALAVA then stop put them back on again PALAVA i had to buy some new tyres anyways, but i didn't get snow tyres because i thought it was silly, and i would try the just staying in bed until the snow goes away trick. p.s. i tried driving in light snow again via a different route, i.e. not the hill and nearly came off the road twice and nearly in a ditch once....so hence hibernation is in order. my front tyres are a bit crappy worn, so i got some good ones off black circles dot com and will get them put on up dingwall tyres.

no i am bloody serious! i live in the most stupid place on earth. there is two roads to get here...1 is miles of crappy coast road and 2 is over a damn stupid hill, and i had a bad experience the other day trying to get up it, and it was not good. AND THEY NEVER GRIT AT ACHNASHEEN!! it is either water logged or covered in snow, i hate that road...

see when i'm driving along with it in D can i move it into manual whenever i like or do i have to stop it and then put it into manual,(you just move it over to the left a little and then its just up down on the gear stick and no clutch, i haven't tried it yet. ) ???

poor wee boy. the taps in my house are far too hot too and i had the council manny here already turning it down although i don't think he turned it down enough. always worried about my two babies at the tap! why do they make it so hot it can burn you? crazy.

hello i just passed my flipping test last summer and already had to try and drive up THE massive HILL (if you know where i live, you know about THE massive HILL) in the snow and almost died a death to remember. and its an AUTOMATIC car i have!!! i had it in winter mode which i think means it skips the 1st gear out, but it was swooshing all over the place. SO how do you drive an automatic car in the snow without falling off the edge of a cliff? i was trying to build up a bit of momento coming at the hill of doom, but how fast should you be going? advice welcome
