Oh and taking on Miller instead of Rhodes when Fletcher was injured was a great choice wasn't it?! Playing a guy thats well past it instead of Scotland's future. Great choice. :frustrated01:

If the boy from Norwich City had kept his cool Scotland would have won that game, although Wales passed them off the park.

I like Miller he has done yeoman service for club and country in the past,  but it was as you say a great opportunity to give Rhodes a go. After all he is scoring every week more or less for  lacklustre Blackburn Rovers  team.

If we have ( I say we because I feel for Scotland although I am a sassenach, but I do  have a highlander grandaughter  ) a plan for the future  it should be for the rest of this campaign, to  give all the young lads a go. Nothing to lose

I also think Chris Coleman seems to have more about him tactics wise than Gordon  Strachan, time will tell on that front

England seem to have an abundance of riches , leaving out their Captain Steven Gerrard and still winning ,

Anyway I have my fingers crossd for Wales now  pity Ramsay will be banned he is one hell of a talent.

against a nation with a population of 30,000 and a national team that was only formed in 1986

You are quite right it begs the question should the minows not have their own tournement

Fans spend a lot of money travelling to  small remote places to see one sided  matches

I seem to remember in  the back of my memory a senior country  failing  to beat  a small outfit  like . The faroe Islands  -. Maybe I'm wrong does  not seem likely., does it ?

  3. Scotland let down by rash tackles

I like Snodgrass a useful player, but he needs to curb his two foot tackles

I thought Ramsay was exceptional for Wales , unfortunately will miss the next game or so red carded also.

    Anyway an interesting match

  4. Is the season ticket valid for the split games?

If we have an away game for the "Highland Firm",, game will there be enough tickets available for ICT fans?

Are all games played on Saturdays?

Is there a danger of early Lunch Time Kick offs for TV ?

Will we get Celtic at home?

  5. Hi

Thanks for that except it is double Dutch to me , I can't reallsee how it boosts the signal. I contacted BT and they could not help.

I said there must be a lot of old houses with construction that kills the signal , but they said they do not supply any booster equipment

Anywat thanks for your help. I will ask in Curries or PC world, see what they come up with.

  6. Hi

Sorry to bother you , but I am somewhat of a novice. I would greatly appreciate some help on this aspect.

I have a fairly recent BT broadband modem' but for a large part of my house the signal is weak. ( former guest house which rambles a bit and has thick walls )

I sometimes lose connection or I get slow performance

I was wondering if I could buy a gadget I can plug into the mains which would bookst the signal.

I am not too  concerned about the cost as it will help my business

    Can you help?

    regards

    Laurence

  7. Yes Mr Macloed point taken

  8. The real issue here is why is William Banks emails being sent to you? This would never, ever happen in an independent Scotland. :fishing:

And yes, all political views are welcome, but please do a little background research before making outlandish claims.

What do you mean the real issue - I don't understand that comment, the real issue is this pointless  exercise in bringing to a vote the asperations of a political party whose eyes are lighting up with the thoughts of outright power.

I am William Banks so I receive my e-mails ,  My Full name is William Laurence Banks, my father was William or Billy Banks, my mum didn't want big Bill and little Bill in the house so I was called Laurence.

On legel documents I do get addressed as William .

With regards to my e-mails I have very little security because it is a business e-mail address , I get a lot of orders through it, therefore I don't want to block any potential sales with security.

With regard to research, I am old enough to know my own mind, I don't need anyone else especially Salmond and Sturgeon telling me what to believe.

I was earning a living when they were in 3 cornered pants

I take independance to be like a divorce court. The judge asks why do you want a divorce to the wife?, who answers because I can manage on my own?.

It is not a case of managing it is a case of what is best for both partners, and divorce is not the answer.

We get a lot of talk on how we can manage as a separate state. But very little talk on why, we should want too.

Like I have said before my biggest worry is the Royal mail, if I lose the domestic rates to the UK, It will cost me at least £100 a week and probably more if the Royal mail leave Scotland. I travel a lot to England, I don't want to be paying for green card car Insurance, or getting a card to allow me to get medical facilities over the border, and if Scotland is forced by the EEC to join the Euro , to have to mess around with currency. Also when I travel abroad I want the back up of a UK passport, not some woolly document printed in Edinburgh  , where I will struggle to find a consulate or embassy to take care of me. Basically I don't want to live in a foreign country , Or I am sure hundreds and thousands of Scottish nationals living in England don't want to either.

This whole referendum business is a waste of money and time. I think the SNP are wasting a lot of public money on it.

I had a place in France for 17 years I know what a pain  travelling in a foreign land is. Why should the Scots want all this agro is beyond me,

As far as I can see just exercising the parish pump.

  9. Congratulations Grandad - I just hope Ruby is a girl and please tell me that she wasnt named cos of an anagram of some hole in Lancashire ?

Cheers , yes a girl, not a boy like Ruby Walsh the horse trainer.

    Never thought of the anagram

True it is a pit these days but when I was there it was quite a  thriving place. Like a lot of Lancahire mill towns . When I was a teenager we had 4 Cinema's two dance halls, need I say it a good football team, with gates around 15,000.

But now I think the Rock ( name of main shopping street) , should be vapourised, as the planners have wrecked it, as they say a good place to come from, but never to return.

  10. How long is a piece of string

    How long is a week

Contemplating the navel or a crystal ball does not help

We like any other side are as good as our last match

As the pundits always say, " Take it a match at a time",

Don't worry about Ross county , or bragging rights ,  life is about the future not the past..

  11. ..........As the title said, congratulations are due to a few teams today.

Firstly, well done to Annan Athletic, humbling the Rangers at Ibrox

Well done to Stirling Albion, 9-1 winners over East Stirling

Elgin bouncing back and beating Peterhead 1-0 away from home

The Spiders keep on winning, 2-3 at Ice Station Clyde :holyshit:

Queen of the South stretch their lead

The Pars make a point after a traumatic week :clapoverhead:

And I also notice that Ross County beat Celtic  It's enough to put you off yer breakfast :notlistening:

Football is a funny old game - Jimmy Greaves

A week is a long time in politics -  Harold Wilson, -  Football too methinks

Reluctantly  congratulations to the fellow Highlanders from across the bridge who are having one hell of a season.

Maybe the  "Highland firm"  will be the future. -  (spoken by a died in the wool Lancastrian).

Nothing puts me off my breakfast not even Bury being bottom of their league. "cry the beloved country",  Shaun Bellow.

My daughter has returned from Raigmore with my first grandchild 'Ruby - a true  born Highlander in the family.

My life is a bowl of roses at the moment.

Will miss the next home match unfortunately as I have to work, There is a book sale in Perth, I have to get supplies to keep my businrss afloat.

  12. When I was involved with Bury. The Owner lost shed loads of cash speculating on the London Stock market. To such an extent his creditors claimed  all his assets through the courts including Bury  ( Bury's accounts were in order ).  no debts and the lowest pay bill n the championship.

A court case resulted Bury got off the hook because the House of Stanley  ( Lord Derby ) who gave the land to the football club on formation, stipulated it was only to be used for sport. The judge threw  the winding up order out. The club was later sold to the co-operative formed by the fans.

However Bury was forced into administration which resulted in two relegations , but that's another story.

So with Hearts it my be the club can go into administration for its own debts , but may be subject to asset stripping by the creditors. I hope not.

  13. Hearts could be in the hands of Romanov's creditors

When an owner goes bust, as opposed to a club going bust, it is a whole different ball game.

If the creditors of the owner so wish they could take over the club and sell it off. The land could be the site of a new supermarket.

  14. THe Highland Firm  maybe draw each other in the Euro final

and meet in Juventus Stadium  Turin,

Who are those men in white coats knocking on my door?.

  15. With the interest it would bring, could we afford not to?

I am stating a possible problem, I have no opinion on it, I will leave it for others to view.

I don't think I will be travelling to St. Petersbug, but I might manage Lens or Lyon. ( I have watched Lens a few times when I had a maison in France) The year they won the French championship. By golly they could play. Cheap as well about 90 French francs in those days.

Bradford's gates in September last year were over 4000, before there rise to fame.

  16. Bradford City

Mentioned that if they achieved a European place ( recent cup final)  they would not take it, as they would be out of pocket, travelling Hotel bills , player bonus' etc. Take into account a Russian trip could be on the cards.

Now their gates arn't bad compared with ours, so it begs the question, can ICT  afford it?
