Our Season in a Nutshell
Afternoon all! It's been a magnificent season hasn't it? Ups and downs, cupsets, cup final, derby matches, knocking 7 past opposition, and ultimately promotion and the league title. Anyhoo, I don't know if I'm allowed to do this so apologies if I shouldn't be trying to advertise my work, but for anyone who's interested, I started up a blog a few months ago. Didn't post for a while as I forgot my password! But I've written a small summarisation of this season and the title race. So if anyone fancies a read, please do. And if any of the right people happen to read this, I'm a very keen football journalist. Cheers guys, SCF. http://graaaavy.blogspot.com/2010/04/15-po...-fed-it-up.html

Small Positives about getting promoted
Exactly! It gets really tedious and repetitive playing as Caley on FIFA because it's the same 12 teams in the same division, the same 12 teams competing in the cup competitions, no relegation or promotion. As much as I love playing as ICT, it does wear thin eventually.

Pre Season Friendlies
I'd love to see a friendly against Southampton. I've never watched a match before where I was torn on who to cheer! Might just hope for an entertaining score draw.

Small Positives about getting promoted
Being able to play as Caley again on FIFA 11. I've missed it terribly in FIFA 10, just not the same. Squad numbers and names back on the shirts. I've hated the lack of players' names on the back of the shirts this season, looks so unprofessional and amateurish. Tynecastle. Always have some good craic with Hearts fans in Diggers. More media coverage. Soccer Saturday have properly covered more SPL games this season, actually having pundits at the games like they do for Premier League and Championship games.

Can I buy a season ticket for the beer tent?

Ireland
Came across this today on BBC Sport. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8644885.stm Is anyone else a little surprised that none of the Irish trio have been selected? I am of course referring to Rooney, Foran and Hayes. They have all been brilliant this season, and are all in the top 10 goal scorers in the league this season. I know it's not exactly the Premier League but they've still had a magnificent season, and some of the names in that squad are not as good as our boys IMO. Who the bloody hell is Paul Green for example? And Caleb Folan is certainly not a better striker than Rooney. Paul McShane? SCF

Party in the Park
In other words, someone we've never heard of. But please, if it is someone well known, please not McFly or any of that rubbish. Hopefully it'll be a real band, who play real instruments. Any ideas? Doves. :021: THE greatest British group of the last 10 years. They are so vastly underrated and unappreciated it's an abomination. I would be blown away if Doves turn up at TCS but highly doubt it. ;)

Supporting England?!?
Being half English, half Scottish, I follow both countries fortunes with equal pride and passion. First and foremost, I support England. I also want Scotland to do well. If Scotland ever get to the finals of a major tournament and England don't, I will support Scotland as passionately and maniacally as I would if it was England. I'm looking forward to the World Cup. Bagged meself a couple of tickets for England's group opener against USA. COME ON ENGLAND!!!

home shirt for 10/11
My favourite home shirt was the stripes for 06/07 when the sponsor was OneTouch. Wonder who the new sponsor will be for next season. Anyone got any inside information?

Ex-ict Players Score
That Zander goal was mighty impressive. Don Cowie set up another goal for Watford yesterday, better than nothing. Apparently Kammy was watching the game for Soccer Saturday and said he thought Cowie was the best player on the pitch over the 90 minutes. There's been rumours in the local press down my way that Southampton are interested in Cowie. Would be great to see an ex-ICT star in the red and white stripes of my other footballing love!

Up for a Fortnight
Evening all! I attended my first Caley away game today since Motherwell last season. I'm up in Scotland for 2 weeks for the end of season celebrations. Drove up from Southampton yesterday to Ayr, staying in a B&B for 3 days, took in the close, cagey encounter ( :clapping03: ) at Somerset Park today. Not ashamed to say I got caught up in the joy of the moment and joined in the pitch invasion. Didn't go very far, but the adrenaline rush was super! On monday I drive up to Inverness, staying in Munlochy for the next 6 days, exploring the area, although I do know the area from Aviemore up to about Dornoch and over as far as Ullapool very well. Will be at the Dundee game on saturday, before driving home on sunday. Been brilliant so far, and it can only get better! Bring on the Dees! Also, kudos to the team today. To score 7 goals away from home without reply is fantastic, but with 7 different goalscorers it really highlights the depth and quality we have in our squad. Really hope Tezza can keep as many of them as possible. Well G'night all, I'm off to the bar :clapping03: See you all at the TCS on the 1st! SCF

Pitch invasion(s)
Let's not bicker and argue about who did and who didn't! I did, no regrets. :clapping03: My third pitch invasion after the last promotion season and Southampton beating Sheffield United on the final day of the 07-08 season to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Portsmouth
As a Southampton fan I have found this whole sorry affair to be fecking hilarious! :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: Pompey's Going Down With No Money In The Bank! No Money In The Bank! No Money In The Bank!

ICT Training Ground Celebration pics!
Traing ground looks like it the football pitches at Fort George that the MOD own !!! Where do the team train? Last time I was up in Inverness I thought I saw them at Bught Park. There was certainly a football team training on the park and I swear one of them was a dead ringer for Russell Duncan.

Cya Leigh, Cya Pal!
A lot of you will have seen that Leigh Griffiths writes (or wrote) a blog for BBC Sport. It is surely no coincidence that he hasn't written a blog update since March 12, around the time that Dundee's dreadful league run began. Could it be that he was told by the club to stop writing the blog and concentrate on getting the season back on track? Maybe he is too ashamed perhaps? I've certainly been giving him a fair bit of stick in the comments underneath the articles. On a similar note, is anyone here a 606 member? I'm on there a lot and there aren't many ICT fans around. More seem to be appearing, most likely the plastics adding ICT back to their profile, just after Rangers, upon learning of our promotion. SCF

I think your travel sickness suffering neighbours might have something to say about that! :028:

What positions do we need to look at now?
I think a few Championship and perhaps Prem loan signings could be in order. Look how well Lukas Jutkewicz has done at Motherwell on loan from Everton this season. And as a Southampton fan I know quite a bit about English league players and Saints players of past and present. Simeon Jackson is a proven goalscorer for Gillingham and they could be relegated this season. Would he prefer SPL to League 2? If we wanted to move Rosscoe into the middle to accomodate a new right back, Graeme Murty is a free agent in the summer. Had a bit of an injury prone season with Saints but when fit he has been our best right back this season. Getting on a bit so might fancy a season or two in the top flight. As a former Saints player and someone not doing very much at Wolves, Andy Surman is a brilliant young player who was voted Saints player of the season 2 years ago when we were in the playoffs and could be an excellent loan signing for Caley, as he appears out of favour at Wolves, having made only 2 starts and a handful of sub appearances, despite them shelling out nearly ?900,000 for him last summer.
