    Are you stevie in disguise......................................................

Are you IHE? Can I ask Alex, why don't you like him? And if all of these contacts are Terry's why weren't they used in his previous jobs? Just annoys me that we can't let anyone go without slagging them off, shows no class. It's just a difference of opinion and mine just happens to be the right one.

Capital Caley - hashtag seething is something used on P&B by posters who have lost the argument (cue hashtag seeting from another genius).

Eh?  I'm really sorry that he's not the man you thought he was.  I've stated quite clearly the role your hero played at the club.  I wasn't slagging him off.  I admire your level of fanatical happy clapping though.  I hope you give the next management team the same level of loyalty.

  2. Try not to be affected by the rambling a of a co-dependent. Nobraininhead has evidently become part of the cult following. Marsella picked up some good and bad journeymen and knew the English lower league scene well - that will be missed unless we pick up somebody willing to travel to where the market is. That will be cheaper than Marsella who spent more on food than Grasser did on rounds in the Heathmount.

You are also correct in keeping comments by others - especially players and stadium staff - in confidence and do not allow a cyber bully to upset you.

I‘ve noticed a small minority of our support are still furiously happy clapping for Team Butcher and Misspass. They‘ve been so taken in with Butcher that they can‘t let go. Is this normal for people who have previously been suffering from Stockholm Syndrome (not Helsinki) or does the symptoms carry on even after they are free from the clutches?

From what I gather Marsella didn't 'find' the players.  He was sent down South to look at players that had been recommended by certain agents.  They were found for the club and Marsella was the man to go and watch them.  He'd then report back to the club.  Plenty of footballing people could do that job.   Not as big a loss as some people think.

I think that's a bit harsh on Steve. He has incredible contacts in the game built up over many years and Inverness have benefitted from those contacts. Let's not blacken the boy's name, he done a great job and pathetic comments about unpopularity amongst the players now he is gone is pretty low. It's not unthinkable that he would work up North again and I would rather it was in a place where he would feel welcome and this thread is starting to develop a nasty little feel to it.

To say he was unpopular without naming names to back it up is also a little cowardly as the boy can't speak up to defend himself. He worked like a dog for Inverness and really loved his job here. If he rattled a few cages on the way, so what it's not a popularity contest.

If anyone could do his job then why don't they? Come on Steve Marsella should be a hero here, he has done nothing wrong in my opinion.

Where have  I mentioned in my one post on this topic anything about him being unpopular?!  I have merely stated his role in find players.

  5. I seem to recollect when Hearts and Hibs got to the Scottish Cup final last year, there was talk of moving the game to Murrayfield, but that was thrown out due to it being in the Hearts side of the city.  I don't see how playing a semi-final in a 'chosen' neutral venue that is in the home city of one of the teams makes any difference.

Yeah Hibs said they would not agree to that venue.  The same thing was mentioned a few years earlier for the Scottish Cup Semi Final.

Malpas in the press stating that he had already made up his mind to go to Hibs as number 2 mid last week.

What a lovely welcome these two will receive on their return on February 1st 2014.............oh wait a minute, are we not playing in a cup semi final that week-end............at Easter Road of all places...........love it, have a day off, there's a couple of good boys now.............

It's absolutely galling that Malpas stated on Saturday in his interview that he had a decision to make about his Inverness future.  Then on Tuesday evening he stated that it was an easy decision because he had already made up his mind mid last week to follow Butcher to Hibs as his number 2.

Maurice is not even hiding the fact that he has lied to the club and the fans.  His contempt for us is a disgrace.  To think it ended like this.  Feck em both.

  7. Red Card and myself chatted to the Luton manager a couple of weeks back after their game against Gateshead.  He told us the deal is all but done.  Obviously I told him i'm happy but I was intrigued as to why Luton were letting him go.  He told us he rates Brill but has 2 other excellent goalkeepers.  He was always going to struggle to be number 1.

I am delighted that Dean has signed and it's great timing from the club.    :ictscarf:

  8. I can just about take a manager abandoning his team during the playing season if they go off to another league / higher level / or go to a team they already have an affiliation with.  Paterson was with us for 7.5 years before he moved up a league, which I can understand.  Robbo went to Hearts when they came calling and Brewster went to Dundee United.  I can't blame Robbo and Brewster for wanting to go to teams that they had such strong bonds with already.

When a manager leaves a team to join a team in the same league, that they have had no previous affiliation with and join them during the playing season, I find this disrespectful to the players and the supporters.  However this happens with many managers of various clubs.

Since Terry Butcher came into management 23 years ago, he has won one trophy.  The Scottish First Division.  I really believe he would have won another trophy this season with Inverness.  Butcher did a great job with ICT.  I will look back on his time with many fond memories, but ultimately he is yet another journey man football manager.  Thanks for the memories but it will always be tainted by his appearance in the Hibs board room before the match on Saturday and his declaration to the journalists that he was there as a neutral.  Highland heart my erse.

Two years ago, Terry Butcher signed a new contract at our club when we were sitting bottom of the league and playing terrible football.  Hibs will not be so loyal if he finds himself in a similar situation down in Leith.
