Development League info. (2015/16)
A very encouraging end to the season for our second string, seems a lot has been learned after our poor start. Things on the up, always a good sign for the future.

FoolPhysio Sorry to hear you are thinking of 'leaving' FoolPhysio. I fully understand your reasons as the same thoughts were in my mind but what the hell, sticks and stones and all that, so why let the despairados win.? I too find that in most instances I enjoy this forum, there is excellent discussion on a diverse range of topics both witty and serious. Recently however the level of negativity has increased considerably. possibly because we have experienced a very unfortunate season. Criticism is one thing, we can all do that, good or bad but the scathing comments from some are very much below the belt, unjustified and often posted without reasoning. The trouble is if you go against their philosophies you are pounced on. Anyway Good luck to you, I hope you do stay with us, the forum needs people like you and I am sure I am not alone thinking that way.

DoofersDad I have no need to explain myself to you or anyone else but if you insist then Rig The answer to your first question is in my post----------the second question I did not suggest that so I don't see it as a question. Third question--------Yes.

Rig and DoofersDad you are right in as much as BW is employed by the BBC or perhaps more specifically by the OAM programme. That should be enough in itself to vindicate me. I do not expect him to lie or to paint a rosy picture of a game which is not to his liking but there is no need to emphasise that ICT are in his mind, putting on a poor show, when in fact he is there to relay un unbiased report on proceedings on two teams playing against eachother. If one is cancelling out the other then praise the team who is doing that rather than slate the other, at least that way it will not deter people from coming to watch matches that numerous people have found interesting and entertaining. Maybe not to your taste but we are not all the same. Why is it that those of us who like to defend the manager and the team, who have done us proud against the odds we have come up against this season, are not welcome to have their say. Why do you think you should have the monopoly ?

Another personal attack from you Kingsmills---not unexpected. Is it right that you as a Moderator of this forum should be allowed to do such things? As a so called supporter of ICT do you honestly think it is right that an ex employee of ICT, namely Barry Wilson should be discouraging people from going to football matches by giving damning reports when he attends our games as he does, when the Club is doing it's utmost to attract people into the Stadium? In case you haven't noticed, Kingsmills, our Club has had a very difficult season to date and we are now fighting to survive in the Premier league, Every point at the moment is precious to us and if you don't actually witness dynamic football from the Team every game is that so surprising ? You have had a downer on John Hughes since you heard he was going to manage ICT, occasionally you try to disguise that fact in your postings when the Team is having it's better moments by giving reluctant credit to the man. I wonder if that is to try to keep yourself in a good light just in case he proves you wrong again. Before you sit down and formulate another acid reply to me just remember that Some people will support this Team through the bad times as well as the good and not keep slagging of it's current employees and systems. Bye the way you are not making valued comments and giving good criticism for the benefit of the Club-----On the contrary negativity never does this, perhaps when you mature you will understand.

Where Now?
What a refreshing change from the posts of the last few weeks blaming just about everybody bar the 'supporters' put me off posting altogether!! Where to next ?----- well how about top four place next season ? Not impossible, surely there cannot be another season of injuries and bad luck like this season. Should the core of favourites stay together showing the same appetite for advancement as shown against D. U. coupled with the wider experience of the John Hughes style of play, which when executed properly as it was on several occasions this season tore other sides apart. As it was, it was good enough to create goal scoring chances during each game, which is the aim of that style of play, WE could have and should have taken those opportunities which would have had us win many that we drew or lost. Brought in players are still in the learning process of the style, some will not grasp it and haven't done so but those are the ones that were brought in with a wing and a prayer to stand in for the injured in the hope that they would make the grade, unfortunately it hasn't worked out for them. they will be replaced by the big man in good time. It matters not if we have a glut of mid fielders if they can score goals Tansey, Polly and Vigurs fit in exactly as scorers. You don't always need Strikers as such though they are so very useful opportunists if you get really good ones and who are really goal hungry---hard to find. So that is where I want to see us go next Footnote, Hedgie----------- get well soon, I'm sure that is a chorus from all of us here at CT on line.com.---------enjoy your football

Contract Situation
With you all the way on that post E4C. Frustration showing through. The circumstances he has had to manage through this season have been horrendous. Finishing on a high last season was the time to take a gamble and go all out for new investment and a strengthening of quality within the squad. Hughes and Price will take the stick for this season unfortunately but the fault really is somewhere within executive source. Club management or the boardroom. Time for them to look inwards and have a complete rethink on what should be done for the good and future of our Club. We have proved what we are capable of but we have not capitalised on it.

Keeper didn't deal with the cross, correct and all the more reason he should have repositioned himself better and quicker. I agree Draper was ineffectual at times but did show some really good flashes in the first period and later as you say in the second. Mutombo could have shaded it but for me he overdid the ball play and beat himself almost as often as the Moths. Definitely right about midfield Good comment Gnu.

The first 25 mins we were going strong tactics were good and opportunities came but that's where we fail nobody seems capable of putting the ball in the net or we flounder about trying to find space to shoot or nobody seems to want to take a crack at goals. after 25mins we went into our shells a bit we lost momentum and became stale. Second half, renewed energy and we looked as if we wanted to take them on and give them the licking they deserved, it wasn't happening and we started messing about mid field and passing back when there were opportunities there to break forward. Their goals, clangers both of them, I would have thought that our keeper with his experience would have positioned himself better for the first and dealt with it even though it was a fluke. The second well full marks to them they saw there was one man defending and made us pay for nor anticipating a break bad defending at a crucial time. The plus Draper it was his power, foresight and character that made him burst into the box and win us a penalty my man of the match. No blame on John Hughes tactics were good. it was the execution of opportunities missed that cost us the match and that is the responsibility of the players. Incidentally David Raven was sitting in the stand a couple of rows in front of me.
