  1. And how long do you think we should give it if the passing game is not working?
  2. Yes Yogi's tactic are coming in for a bit of stick, but i am sure that he has broad enough shoulders to carry that and I am sure if he is reading this he will be determined to prove the doubters wrong (myself included) . As for the players have a look at other clubs forums and then have a look again at this one, the players very rarely come in for criticism unless its after a performance which was fairly gutless, thankfully that is very rare. There is not a club in the land that doesn't have its share of negative, happy clapping, balanced posters including this one, what this one does not have/allow is personnel attacks on the players or management and to suggest closing it down for 6 months is frankly ridiculous.
  3. bit disappointing to hear we don't appear to be progressing with the tippy tappy football, will be interesting to hear from Caley D who thought that the team were progressing with this style (can't remember which friendly) and that Russel and Yogi were not concerned by the lack of goals as it was going the right way, wonder if thats still the case.
  4. And by the same token, its the same people that defend the club no matter what. Only if there is good reason to Gordie and in this case there is.......again In this case I also agree but there are some that whenever you see a post you know it will be defending the club regardless of circumstances, its not only the negative posters that are predictable, in fact they are probably less so as at least they sometimes post something positive.
  5. And by the same token, its the same people that defend the club no matter what.
  6. Bring Brewster back as fitness coach
  7. Think its a cracking strip to be honest, never been a fan of any strip apart from Blue and red stripe until this one.
  8. As I said on another thread I had no particular affiliation to either Caley or Thistle pre merger, however I do think our history should be respected and that the club should have more of an identity when it comes to our strip, blue and red stripes for me all day long
  9. Has it been confirmed that there is no red in the kit??
  10. I dont think Gow was ever lauded as a wonder kid and yes he probably knows Hughes because Hughes signed him at Falkirk. As for training facilities dont you think that maybe he'd find better closer to home than suffer the expense of coming to Inverness? Exactly what I was thinking Alex, strange choice coming all the way up here just to train, I would imagine Yogi is have a look at him again.
  11. Alex, I don't think its unreasonable for fans to want to have the strips in decent time before the start of the season, every other club can mange it but every season we have the same problem, why ?
  12. What an utterly ridiculous comparison Alex.
  13. I am not sure what good writing to Errea will do, the club must be happy with to accept these delays as they put up with them just about every season. Ridiculous that this is happening once again new sponsor or not.
  14. Not so sure why anyone is surprised it is the same delays just about ever season.
  15. Just a marketing stunt and cheap advertising. Increase sales by 10% and they stand to profit from the "gesture". No bad thing though as everyone is a potential winner. As you say not a bad thing, a win win situation
  16. Good gesture by Partick http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/latest/partick-thistle-unveil-breast-cancer-away-strip-1-3479897
  17. Think that is a sign of the times to be honest. Most of the fun has been legislated out of football with rules about stadia, seating, standing, chanting, and yes alcohol. For me, growing up, football was a release at the end of the week. I could have a few beers, let off steam, hurl some insults at the opposition and generally enjoy myself. Yes some people overdid it and got in trouble, but for most I would say it was like this. Nowadays that good natured and perhaps slightly drunken behaviour would get me ejected from the ground or even lifted !!! Maybe its good I am a Toronto season ticket holder .... this behaviour is encouraged !!!! Yes I am sure the lack of alcohol has seen the decline in these type of characters at the matches, and probably led to a decline in attendances as well. Good on Toronto, do you see any trouble/incidents as a result of this Scotty?
  18. Give the bloke a chance he is by far the most knowledgeable of all the posters on this aspect It is getting very boring ( someone mentioned the boar war earlier) to keep taking the Michael out of Charles Just because someone is knowledgeable about something doesn't ensure that they can see both sides of the argument, something I feel Charles fails to do
  19. As I have said previously I had no real affiliation to any of the Highland League sides and was happy to see any Inverness side do well. I did however enjoy standing in the Howden End watching and listening to the real characters in there. Those type of fans are sadly lacking now, whether that is the sign of the times or to do with the merger I am not sure but i do think Inverness football is a poorer thing without them.
  20. In the latter days in the Highland League, Thistle's and Caley's typical combined attendance might have been in the ballpark of 600. In an era when a Scottish Cup tie against the likes of St Johnstone or Kilmarnock was considered a rare novelty, that could rise 10 fold thanks to the presence of a correspondingly large number of glory hunters who attended Thistle and Caley games once in a blue moon so played no effective part in the clubs' support. I would also agree that in Division 1 in 03-04 it was about 2000, as it had tended to be for much of that period in D1. Move another rung up the ladder and indeed you do now have around 3500 which is around a 5-6 fold increase alongside the rise from the Highland League to the top half of the Premiership over the period that the pro-refusenik lobby bemoans so much damage having been done. I find it interesting that the linked article suggested that progress up the leagues had been slower than expected, given the universal ridicule attracted by Dougie McGilvray's "Off The Ball" statement that ICT would reach the SPL within 10 years - ie by 2004 - whch it did. As for the "prawn sandwich" type references in other recent posts, the old chestnut about journalists not paying to get into football matches really is getting very tired and weary. The reality is that many of the organisations for which journalists at football matches work pay a lot of money for broadcasting rights etc. Similarly what some fans like to dismiss as the "prawn sandwich brigade" in corporate hospitality also pay for this service. The main effect of important incomes like this is that they actually subsidise the season tickets of supporters since the lunatic economics of football are such that gate recepits do not come close to meeting running costs of football clubs. Charles you seem to be missing my point, I just thought it was a bit rich complaining about fans who pay for the pleasure of "making an arse of themselves" when you get into games for free and I would imagine also get paid for the pleasure.
  21. It really looks to me as if this thread has partly degenerated into the argument that, in order to achieve a meteoric rise to the top of Scottish football, it has not been worth losing the opportunity to make a complete @rse of yourself in the Howden End on a Saturday afternoon. There is a lot more to supporting football than the rather 70s fads of swigging Scotsmac, licking stamps and a severe reluctance to admit that one's days of adolescence have long gone. Charles your intolerance of the normal football fan comes shining through yet again, long live the prawn sandwich brigade, how many matches have you paid to see recently ?
  22. Ah I forgot about the additional sponsor, I was just thinking about Subway,
  23. I don't know what goes on behind the scenes in getting a new shirt organised but as Subway were announced a the shirt sponsor nearly 2 months ago is that a valid reason for the delay ?
