We could afford to keep Williams, though I'm told it was the length of contract that was the deal breaker for him to go to Dundee.

That's  not what the Dee's fans down here are saying -£3000 per week which I believe will be double what we can offer

I hope he signs.  He may not have the personality of Brill but he seems a more solid keeper overall.  Of all Hughes' signings, he is the one clear success.

Hughes 2 best signings Williams and Brill and we need to let one go how ironic!

Certainly not the same line up as Wednesday and please not Liam Hughes up front. We definitely need Roberts and Storey in there plus Richie Foran (to make County look sh#te). I for one will not be going as I've been tortured too much by our performances in the last 4 weeks. Also I don't want insult added to injury by being made to stay in the ground until C####y have paraded the diddy cup.

Agree if Hughes puts his namesake on then I will not go to another ictfc game he is the worst player ever to have been signed by us IMO. Dani Lopez looks like Messi in comparison - well maybe not!

In the unfortunate event that Yogi left, for whatever reason, I'd be keen on Peter Houstoun. He has success at Dundee United and is doing a very good job with Falkrik, keeping pace with the bigger teams in the league, as well as getting them to the Scottish cup final. He doesn't seem to get much of a mention, but I wouldn't be too disappointed to have Robbo return, he knows how to motivate his players and could probably attract good players to the club,

If he left I would hope we could do better than that pair

So whats wrong with Raven, anyone know? He was in the stand y'day and looked to be moving freely enough. Seems like he has been missing a good while, yet nobody knows why or when he will be back and is a player we miss badly.

Recurring foot injury and he had to sit out before it ended his career .

    should be back soon

I've been reliably informed Vincent will be released due to Hughes' belief that he is too injury-prone.

I think Vincent's injuries are as much mental than physical. No doubting his football ability but he has to play to show that.

Its time for Kenny Cameron to act and sack John before its to late,  Graeme Bennett would have acted my now.

Do not think in GB's watch we did anything of note in the SPL . Try living in the

    current world not the past

3years of profit ,league cup final,Scottish Cup winners ,European Football highest ever finish in SPL I would take KC's record

Was Latapy the brains of the outfit? What has happened to the Christie money? Was I mistaken in deciding to commit to the replay ticket and 2 hour round trip before today's match?

Today was really gash. If we can't score against a poor Hamilton team at home we are in deep doo-doo.

Every player seems to develop altitude sickness when they reach the final third.

The only positive was Foran coming on near the end. He has to start v Hibs if fit. Everyone is scared to consider shoot on sight when the opportunity arises.

    Latapy- probably

Spent on signings who are/ were useless plus a huge hike in Hughes salary so not much left I suspect .You will only find out on Wednesday but if the team turns up and fit players and those back from suspension can control their wild play may be the start of our season although there is not much left

Getting caught offside is not always the striker's fault - an extra touch from the passer can be enough to make a good pass into an offside. I'm not excusing Storey completely, but our unpredictable tactics in midfield and at the back must have been difficult to read for our own players! "Is this going to be punted into the channel?...no -square again....now? Nope. Must be this time.....I'm going, aaaaggggghh, he's taken an extra touch and I've gone too early!"

The opposite argument is that his runs are too straight: Bending his run gives a split-second more leeway should the pass be delayed.

There again, he's a pro footballer and I haven't really got a Scooby - just repeat what some pundit says!

I agree entirely he needs to run square until the pass is released then change his angle towards goal as he has the pace to skin most defences . Whilst he holds ball up well he doesn't cut inside early enough to create havoc and running to the bye line at best wins a corner

  10. Last few games the side seem to lack motivation and an urgency to push forward. In the last 10 minutes when the game was over they stepped up the speed of play and was the only time they remotely looked like a side who are the Scottish cup holders .

Could not agree more. It is an absolute joke.  I can see it taking the best part of a week yet, leaving us just a few days to get air tickets (at premium prices), and match tickets sent out etc etc.  It is no wonder that some 'long distance' fans just don't bother any more.

Word on the street is  it is the Sunday so possibly tv

Whether Nick is a better player than some of the other names mentioned is, I suppose, a matter of opinion.   However he will always have a place in ICT fokelore history for his dramatic late equaliser against Hearts when we were down to 9 men in the League Cup semi two years ago.  I'm sure we all wish him well with Dundee, as long as he has an off day when they play us.

    Agree 100%

Always wondered why few teams in Scotland have looked into hybrid pitches like they have now at Murrayfield and Arsenal, City, United, Liverpool, Everton, Leicester.

From what I gather only Rangers and Hibs use it up here.

"Desso GrassMaster is a sportsplaying field surface composed of naturalgrass combined with artificial fibres. The artificial grass fibres are injected 20 centimetres (7.9 in) deep, and cover about 3% of the surface. While the grass is growing, the roots intertwine with the artificial fibres. The designers claim this anchors the field to create a solid, even structure with good drainage and 'playing comfort'."

The artificial turf injection shortens the recovery time for the grass. And it also makes it more durable.

You'd think that this might be worth looking into in a league where many teams struggle to maintain their pitch over a long winter (usually Motherwell)

These hybrid pitches are seriously expensive I.e. Nearly £1m against £0.5m for 4g type . They also have a high maintenance cost so think it is out of our league and everyone else's until we can get crowds in excess of 25000 week in week out . Only one in Scotland I believe is Murrayfield.

...interested to know what "other 3rd parties" there can be? Syrely, the partcipants are: the player, the 2 clubs and the agent. That's already more than enough parties to make a horlicks of any transaction  - any ideas about who else cold be involved?
