  1. Cannot believe the decision to do this two years on the trot. The 'neutral' venue is bad enough for a game against Hearts but the kick off time takes the biscuit. It is the same old **** from a supposedly revamped spfl. Same guys in charge = same problems and same old carry on.
  2. I had expected another offer from the english championship and for him to go there but disappointed he has chosen Hibs. Think he will do well there but ultimately quite gutted, this will affect our team massively. Who will sign contract extensions, who will want to stay and of course our current league position and cup run.
  3. Pretty sure Robson signed for Boro along with a few other ex old firm players(Thompson, MacDonald, McManus, Boyd etc) when Strachan took charge after they were relegated. Nice one Don Cowie.
  4. The point about Greame Shinnie was only a matter of time too given his rise in the last season.
  5. Relying on players like Bridcutt and Hanley is looking to the future as they're both decent young players playing at a good level and succeeding. You're right in saying its not a mark of excellence by any lengths but it is positive to include these lads as they're our better younger players. Steven Fletcher is a proven EPL goalscorer(albeit injured for this one) with another young promising striker in Rhodes banging the goals in for Blackburn and will no doubt make the step up to the EPL if he continues this season but we have an in form Grittiths too. I dont think it looks all that bad for our NT at all, we just need to get away from giving more caps to the likes of Kenny Miller when they are past their sell by dates. We should give England a good game, id be happy with a good performance regardless of result and to not be too negative! It is a friendly after all. Id like to see Martin and Hanley at the back again as they did so well against the Croats but looking at the squad im not sure what pairing he will choose. In the middle we are strongest, Maloney, MacArthur, Morrison, GMS, Snodgrass, Forrest, Bridcutt. Some good potential in there imo, although no stand out stars which we have been missing. We are a bit unfortunate having arguably our two best players out in the two fletchers. Englands squad is as strong as it can be but never really gets the juices flowing. For a team with such a strong league and a large population, they really do lack at international level. Lambert is a dangerous player though and any of those 4 players they have listed can put the ball in the back of our net.
  6. Like others it was disappointing trying to get anything of the game on the radio. Was it just today that wasnt covered by MFR or will they not be doing any this season? Amazing result for the first day of our season though, well done lads. Buzzing.
  7. 1 Where were you born? Raigmore 88 2.Where did you spend your childhood? Skye, Invergarry and Fort William. 3 When did you start following football in Inverness? When ICT were in the 3rd division, got free tickets from either the Fort Augustas soccer 7's or via the schools, i forget which. 4 What is you current location? Fort William, moving to Inverness next week.
  8. Well done the Saints, impressive job making it through its just a shame its so difficult to get all the way to the group stages. Not only do they have to go and beat Minsk, they have another round after that to get through. I cant get my head round a home score of 0-7 though, in this day and age a score like that for full time teams shouldnt be happening except maybe if they were playing a top level euro side. Was it the lack of games and summer break compared to Malmo's mid season prep? Or just proper rank football? St Johnstones seemed to cope ok! I'd feel sick watching if i was a Hibs fan.
  9. Theres nothing wrong with some pre season partying but regular sessions during the full season would be a bit mad as it can surely only ever have a negative effect on your career, it is only a short one! Im not bothered at all that Richie was lifted(unless of course it was something pretty awful), these things do happen on nights out and i really cant see the dressing room being impacted in any way.
  10. Finished 2-0 to the swedes and St J winning 0-1. Johnny Tuffey in action now for Linfield.
  11. OTJ just been subbed for Hibs as they are being pummeled 2-0 away to Malmo. Sounds like Hibs could have had a real doing by now, still plenty of time left for that tho. St Johnstone i have streaming live and seem to be doing a comfortable job on Rosenborg, 1 up so far thanks to a 1st half Frazer Wright goal. Both away from home.
  12. I chose the very confident option. Im very confident we wont be in the mix for relegation, slow start or not. We should be thinking about a top 6, we may have lost a couple of good lads but unlike seemingly every other season we've retained a huge part of our squad and this should show this time around so for me, to be on the good side of the split will be a very successful season and we can def achieve that.
  13. James MacArthur and James Mccarthy spring to mind as decent deals for their club Hamilton. Mathew Kennedys deal for Kilmarnock was terrible. 3 games out of a potential star before he chose to go and sit in the Everton reserves for alot less money too is painful.
  14. Personally i am quite happy if the majority are British or from Ireland, you'd like to think you can at least find a decent squad from the home nations + ROI. It is obviously nice to have more homegrown or Scottish lads in the squad and that is definitely the preference for me but in our case you can only **** with the..... The figures themselves don't look that bad for us in comparison with everyone else, you do have to be realistic with your expectations and we are in line with St J and RC. Shows you how much Celtics youth system does for them.
  15. With any luck will go on loan to a team like WBA, its definitely done Lukaku some good.
  16. It is great news that we've this many players signed up already but as mentioned above, can anyone shed any light on how much scouting we do in Scotland or is there that little to scout? Teams like Dundee United have appeared to do pretty well from the lower divisions.
  17. Thumbs up from me, collar could have been all red but it is a nice top. I like the pinstripes.
  18. It will do our seeding rank for 2016 some good, ensures we will be in the 4th pot as we were in danger of slipping even further. Delighted with the result!Delighted i was so far off.
  19. Finally! I dont have much faith in getting anything but i really hope im wrong. 3-0
  20. Wont be a good thing for St J, his record the last two seasons speaks for itself so imo can only be a good thing for us as they can potentially get someone in that isnt up to scratch.
  21. Ojaama and Russel both leave the SPL. Two good young players, was only a matter of time for Russel though. Dundee United will need Goodwillie if they are to have anything close to their strikeforce of last season. Prince Buaben and Morgaro Gomis linked with Aberdeen and Hearts.
  22. Very pleased with this. Hope he carries on his form for next season.
