Strengthen during transfer window?
Personally wont miss Toby, really hoped he would look decent but only ever reminded me of Shane Sutherland and I preferred Shane. We might end up needing two, Billy is a hard target to ignore for any club needing a proven goalscorer.

Starting XI for the 1st
Unanimous support for Raven to come back in and i totally agree. Really hoped we would have seen him against Celtic. I think Tremarco is doing a solid job where he is and while Shinnie is by far the better player in that position, GS is very versatile and i think he'd do a great job alongside Draper. GS has presence, is great on the ball and has the experience. Christie to start is a bit premature but would like to see him get some playing time over the next few games. Williams playing where he is just now is detrimental to those around him, not to destroy the lad but there far is better options. JH must be seeing an absolute superstar of Williams in training if he is picked in the starting slot there tomorrow.

Inverness CT -V- Aberdeen
As a few others have mentioned, we were the better team up until their first goal which came from nowhere. Whether it was or wasn't a pen, it totally changed the game. Our heads went down and they started playing football. It was such a poor reaction to going a goal down, i don't remember them ever threatening or having any chances up until then whereas we had a couple good ones(think Ross hit the post before this happened). So a 22 minute spell of dominance later and i was feeling sick to the stomach. Also couldn't believe people were actually leaving by the time the 4th went in, it wasn't even half time...such a disgraceful attitude and they deserved to miss the second half. Would you not want to see how the players and manager react to such a situation? Second half was great to watch, made it a worthwhile trip out and my gf was just as pleased as she didn't have to put up with my sulking if it had got any worse or stayed the same. Few things for me, the whole team was terrible after we conceded the first but Shinnie and Warren especially. Wasn't that impressed with Toby either but really hoped he could come on and make his mark on the game. Few things for Yogi to think about from this game at least.

Robertson's bar
Went in here for a couple with a few lads before the game and was fine, no problems and a decent pint. Just would have preferred somewhere with the Man City game on.

Hearts -V- Inverness CT
First half was pretty dire for both sides but the weather was awful throughout. I didn't think we were ever in any real danger on Saturday though. Thought Ross was a bit Jekyll and Hyde in the first half with some good moments and some bad but very good in the second. Watkins was impressive, quite pleased he is beginning to shine. Billy's goals were lovely, if he had managed that woodwork strike aswell, what a treble that would have been but certainly cant complain with two great goals. Looking forward to the Dons this weekend.

Changes
Shinnie at left back, Raven at right back for me. Was Raven was injured for a spell or has the current line up just been preferred? Meekings at right back with Devine in the middle is another option but havent seen this used in a while.

Paul Hartley
Would be interested to hear how he could have 'dodged a bullet' by coming to us. I can see reasons why a manager wouldn't want to come but definitely no bullet. Care to expand a little?

Radio Scotland coverage WORSE THAN USELESS
Today was a shambles. Poor coverage of every game and Chick Young on a level of his own. Absolute clown.

St Mirren -V- Inverness CT
Its a sad state of affairs when you are getting barely a snippet of information every 5 mins or so, very poor.

The new manager thread
Really cant see him saying what he said if he didnt want or like Hughes as manager. He has not only towed the line in what would probably be expected as captain but he sounds pretty happy about it and goes on to say he was the man the players wanted, he does actually start the interview with a grin on his face. If he didnt want Hughes there he could have just as easily said all the cliche's and left it at that? He goes well beyond that imo. Quite pleased after seeing that.

The new manager thread
Would have probably preferred Hartley or Shiels if they were the final 3 candidates but Yogi will have my full support as our new boss. Disagree that he is a bad choice, to inherit this team of ours he will do just fine and is less of a gamble than Hartley imo.

CJT cup semi final statement
Just sounds like even more of a snake when asked about the Rangers - Raith Scenario, which i didnt even realise until i saw his interview. What an absolute arse of a man. Good effort by CJT, made a statement by not taking it on the cheek.

The new manager thread
There are def a few worrying names. Would it be so bad to have someone not involved in scottish football? We do have a team here and its not like he would need to make any signings at all until hopefully, at least the end of the season which would give them plenty of time to get up to speed and surely wouldnt try to drastically change how we play. In saying that, the scottish names or those that are familiar with scottish football are definitely better than the ones that arent. Ill take Burley, Levein, Hartley and Sheils etc over the likes of Appleton, Sutton, Larsson and Blackwell any day of the week.

Richie Foran Signs On With ICT!
Awesome news, didnt expect to hear this so early and had actually feared that he would leave for Hibs in January or at the end of the season.

The new manager thread
Would be happy with Levein or Hartley. I think Levein would be good for the club if you ask me and Hartley like others have said, could be a hidden gem. Does anyone have any idea of Hartsons reputation as a coach? Like the idea of a young high profile manager with good contacts within the game, might be what we need to retain the players we have too. Maybe a bit early for Barry Wilson but def one for the future, same with Sheerin.

CJT cup semi final statement
Cannot believe the decision to do this two years on the trot. The 'neutral' venue is bad enough for a game against Hearts but the kick off time takes the biscuit. It is the same old **** from a supposedly revamped spfl. Same guys in charge = same problems and same old carry on.

Butcher offski?
I had expected another offer from the english championship and for him to go there but disappointed he has chosen Hibs. Think he will do well there but ultimately quite gutted, this will affect our team massively. Who will sign contract extensions, who will want to stay and of course our current league position and cup run.

Former ICT Players Who've Played In The BPL
Pretty sure Robson signed for Boro along with a few other ex old firm players(Thompson, MacDonald, McManus, Boyd etc) when Strachan took charge after they were relegated. Nice one Don Cowie.

Rob McLean article
The point about Greame Shinnie was only a matter of time too given his rise in the last season.

England Squad For Scotland game
Relying on players like Bridcutt and Hanley is looking to the future as they're both decent young players playing at a good level and succeeding. You're right in saying its not a mark of excellence by any lengths but it is positive to include these lads as they're our better younger players. Steven Fletcher is a proven EPL goalscorer(albeit injured for this one) with another young promising striker in Rhodes banging the goals in for Blackburn and will no doubt make the step up to the EPL if he continues this season but we have an in form Grittiths too. I dont think it looks all that bad for our NT at all, we just need to get away from giving more caps to the likes of Kenny Miller when they are past their sell by dates. We should give England a good game, id be happy with a good performance regardless of result and to not be too negative! It is a friendly after all. Id like to see Martin and Hanley at the back again as they did so well against the Croats but looking at the squad im not sure what pairing he will choose. In the middle we are strongest, Maloney, MacArthur, Morrison, GMS, Snodgrass, Forrest, Bridcutt. Some good potential in there imo, although no stand out stars which we have been missing. We are a bit unfortunate having arguably our two best players out in the two fletchers. Englands squad is as strong as it can be but never really gets the juices flowing. For a team with such a strong league and a large population, they really do lack at international level. Lambert is a dangerous player though and any of those 4 players they have listed can put the ball in the back of our net.

ICT -V- St Mirren
Like others it was disappointing trying to get anything of the game on the radio. Was it just today that wasnt covered by MFR or will they not be doing any this season? Amazing result for the first day of our season though, well done lads. Buzzing.

Where do the ICT support originate from?
1 Where were you born? Raigmore 88 2.Where did you spend your childhood? Skye, Invergarry and Fort William. 3 When did you start following football in Inverness? When ICT were in the 3rd division, got free tickets from either the Fort Augustas soccer 7's or via the schools, i forget which. 4 What is you current location? Fort William, moving to Inverness next week.

St Johnstone
Well done the Saints, impressive job making it through its just a shame its so difficult to get all the way to the group stages. Not only do they have to go and beat Minsk, they have another round after that to get through. I cant get my head round a home score of 0-7 though, in this day and age a score like that for full time teams shouldnt be happening except maybe if they were playing a top level euro side. Was it the lack of games and summer break compared to Malmo's mid season prep? Or just proper rank football? St Johnstones seemed to cope ok! I'd feel sick watching if i was a Hibs fan.

Our Captain
Theres nothing wrong with some pre season partying but regular sessions during the full season would be a bit mad as it can surely only ever have a negative effect on your career, it is only a short one! Im not bothered at all that Richie was lifted(unless of course it was something pretty awful), these things do happen on nights out and i really cant see the dressing room being impacted in any way.
