  1. Keeper played a blinder and got us that point, he has settled in well since being thrown in at the deep end against Astra. Other good performances were Williams, Devine & Raven with a mention going to Iain Vigurs when he came on, looked solid and came close with his free kick. Christie was hit or miss showing flashes of what he is capable of, personally didn't think Polworth was up to much at all, as was Tansey and I echo the concern of DoofersDad, he has been very uninspiring. Lopez looks shot of confidence but he contributes absolutely nothing to our play, how long does JH persist with him? I want him to succeed but there's really nothing to suggest he will. Mutombo was poor in the first half but improved a little after the break, he seems easily beaten to the ball but does keep at it and it paid off later on which is more than I can say for Lopez. I didn't think Partick Thistle looked interested for some of that first half but they slowly came into it after 15 or so minutes, eventually having the 3 best chances of the game in my opinion and should have won. We were poor again, just not as poor as we were against Motherwell but if they had got a goal and parked the bus it would have been even more dire to watch, much like our last home game. Our passing was shambolic, in particular Ross Draper. I think the team we are fielding can play a lot better but not in the current system, next weekend is probably not the time to change but if we keep trying something that is not working we won't be getting many more points any time soon until the likes of Doran, Vincent, Meekings and 'a striker ' are back. It is criminal we have no proper striker yet.

Notice this isn't in the rumours section of the site, is this legitimate information? I find it hard to believe that there are no other players willing to take a short term deal up here than this has-been. I would be stunned if he is even being looked at.
  3. Graeme has been my favourite player for some time now and anyone that watches him can't fail to see his quality. I was not happy at his decision to go to Aberdeen just along the road but for me and probably a few others it was a hard pill to swallow but at no point can he be described as a traitor, I hope this was a rare branding. He was absolutely class yesterday, truly showing what he is capable of on a big stage. He was so confident and composed on the ball, he needs to be in a Scotland top soon. Already a legend in my eyes, it would be fitting for him to lift that cup at Hampden.
  4. What can our club do about it? They can't force players to sign contracts and to be fair to the players the likes of Shinnie and Mckay, they have more than earned their move somewhere whether we get paid or not. Constantly losing your best players for nothing does get really tedious though, worse is seeing a growing proportion end up at Aberdeen. The fact that they are getting these lads for absolutely nothing as the finished article(or well on their way to being so) makes my blood boil. I personally don't think theres any question theres a lack of ambition from Shinnie, you just have to look at where Strachan prefers his players to play and to look at the examples of others(Robertson, May, Bryson, Russell, Arfield to name a few). The home town team is fine for him but i'm not impressed, i would accept that argument when he is coming into his 30's but not his prime. Really gutted about this move, they were the one team i didn't want to see him move to and feel a bit like it is a slap in the face given the current situation between the teams.
  5. If you're talking about Section D in the main stand, there are a couple of guys there who have been turning up for years to do nothing but shout abuse at both our players and the opposition, and occasionally other fans that ask them to be quiet. They're usually absolutely plastered. I can hear them from Section C, and it's often made me wonder what someone has to do to get ejected from the ground. Section D in the North Stand, can't say i have noticed this guy before so not sure if he is a regular but it certainly dampened the experience for me as it relentless.
  6. Last nights game reminded me of a comment Yogi made earlier in the season, that at some point we will play a team that will get absolutely battered by us(may have been post Dundee United at home when we played them off the park, only to win 1 nil). Last night should have been that game, St Johnstone had a few corners right at the start but otherwise were never in the game. Very impressive performance from us and so comfortable. One negative for me which has nothing to do with the team. There was a heckler in the row behind me in section D who just could not be pleased no matter what we were doing, this man the entire game was moaning(loudly and not to himself) about not going forward with the ball and instead finding a pass along the line or in the middle. I can understand this impatience if we have had no attempts at goal after 60 minutes(just like our opponents last night) and/or are losing but i looked at my phone to see the BBC stats at half time as i thought they would probably be one sided. The stats were telling me the possession was 60/40, shots were 11 to 0, SOT were 9 to 0 and the score was 2 goals to zero. I am astounded that even at 2 goals up, put ourselves in a position where we have no need to bust a gut and expose ourselves when you don't particularly need to and still creating chance after chance, some people are still unsatisfied? He wasn't alone either. I don't expect people to ever like Yogi or his play but some people need to seriously get a grip, if he wasn't twice my size i might have told him. Having watched this new style of football that we're playing i remember how i felt last season, i remember feeling the same way as him but we have come on so far from then, i don't feel like having my head in my hands anymore(although Brill came close once) every time we make a pass along the back and i reckon every one of our players are better players from playing this way. If he had been watching properly, he would see that long balls and clearances weren't working...because they literally gave the ball straight back to us on a few of the small number of occasions they even had it. So an awesome game for me and my girlfriend, i am sure most people thought it was but a shame there are still people out there unsatisfied with such a comfortable win.
  7. Think most people will probably disagree with you ten4. He is a great player and deserves any big move he gets. I would say a move to a bigger club will certainly get him in about the national team, even if backup to robertson.
  8. That was sickening. One nicely plated goal from them and it's won them the game. How many times.
  9. Absolutely agree with this. This is the season to make some more history, to sell Graeme would significantly decrease our chances of that. Aside from the prize money we could lose, it's hard to put a price on a top 3 or a scottish cup final appearance. Tremarco is a good back up but isn't half the player Shinnie is if you ask me.
  10. I would be gutted if he went to Aberdeen on a free because they have not long ago already acquired Hayes & Rooney(indirectly) without forking out a penny, that's without including Robson. For them to have got 3 of our best players(at their time of leaving) for no hard cash whatsoever would be hard to take but if it was money in January or a free at the end of the season I'd much rather keep him. I am more than happy for Shinnie to go for free as he deserves everything he gets for his contribution to us. He can play at a higher level than the spfl and if he is offered the chance he should jump at iit.
  11. Really enjoyed yesterday, thought the whole team played well and we dominated after a short 5-10 minute opening spell from DU, which was a surprise as i thought it was only a matter of time before they had their turn in the ascendancy but it never came. It's hard to single out any of the lads when they all had such good games but for me, Watkins was deserving of his Motm. Was great to see Vincent back and performing so well too.
  12. The clubs twitter feed is far superior than what the bbc or skysports feeds can provide when it comes to whats happening in our games.
  13. It's not just the teams that have been swapped out though, there have been some quality players leave the top league already, potentially weakening several sides. Kris Boyd, Shaun Hutchison, Ryan Gauld, Andy Robertson, Fraser Forster, Georgios Samaras and Stevie May to name a few. So personally, I think in general it is a bit weaker. I reckon only Dundee over the course of the season will prove to be better than the two Edinburgh teams that went down.
  14. Would have to agree on what others have said about our current squad having achieved top six, two seasons in a row. We haven't lost anyone and the league is a bit weaker than last year so an acceptable position would be 6th or above. Totally different story if we had the player turnovers we used to have. I think top 6 is definitely what we should be looking at.
  15. Ordering my first season ticket this morning, getting one for the missus aswell. If next season can produce even half of the top moments last season did i will be a happy man. Have to admit i am not 100% set on Hughes at the minute but it's the coming season he will be judged on, i hope he can prove us all wrong.
  16. Thin red and blue hoops looks awesome, would love to see something like that St Mirren top.
  17. Brill Raven Meekings Warren Shinnie Draper Foran Watkins Tansey Williams McKay
  18. Quite disappointed with some of our results but having played quite well in a number of those defeats i'm not too disheartened. He wasn't many peoples first choice but sacking a manager at this point in the season will get us nowhere.
  19. Well done for getting him signed up.
  20. What an absolute ****. There is really no need for most of that crap.
  21. I rmember one passing over my head but didn't see the other! Should look good in the pictures. The Cards put up by the dons were quite impressive.
  22. Agree with this and the tactics were right for this reason if nothing else, to lose a goal in the first half or early on could have seen us implode yet again. The thing that didn't happen is that the final balls and crosses weren't there. On another day or maybe a smaller crowd or occasion then these could have made their destinations. Even against Hibs midweek, our defense was shaky and nervous every time they got the ball. The fans were nervous at every backpass but yesterday i didn't feel that. The first half really was terrible but asides from one poor pass which led to an opportunity for them i thought we were solid at the back for the entire game. Doran looked great when he came on and i feel like Nick Ross is improving all the time and answering his critics. Christie had another good performance and had the balls to show some great skill on a couple of occasions. Some negative points was our forward midfield play. Foran had quite a few poor passes forward and i thought early on he might struggle to make the end of the game due to being sent off. Draper was very good in a defending role and winning the ball back but again, we lost a few attacking chances for his poor passing. Wouldn't have given him motm. Yet again have to feel sorry for Billy, how many games does he just chase long high balls? He is so quick with some engine and when the ball is played at a reasonable height or on the ground you can see he is an absolute top class player but you have to wonder if he actually enjoys some of those games where he gets endless long balls up to fight with two tall CB's. Hats off to the fans from both teams, created a great atmosphere and was a brilliant day out. On another day this was ours....if Forans penalty had been given or even in penalties. Felt really bad for Marley's miskick, couldn't have done that in a worse game but he was another plus point for us as always, he just ran out of steam after 60 or so minutes.
  23. Was a horrible match to watch, first half especially. Foran was lucky to stay on. Ross had some nice touches, the defence looked a little nervous at times but were good, as was Brill. Thought Devine and Tremarco were solid and also liked the look of Williams tonight. The game was just a poor standard from both sides but Evans and Christie both gave a good account of themselves when they came on.
  24. Brill Raven Meekings Devine Shinnie Foran Polworth Williams Vincent Doran Mckay Think we need to play as strong a team as possible and for me, the only exception could be Devine in for Warren or Meekings. Possibly Tremarco in at LB and Shinnie in the holding role or even Ross beside Foran, Hughes really needs to go back to this. It was never broken and didn't need replaced. A 4-4-2 plan B is great when needed but a complete overhaul wasn't called for given our players.
  25. Wasn't sure at all at the start but got into it and quite like it.
