This is a serious question. Are you allowed to start the game with 9 men voluntarily - e.g. for psychological impact - and then bring the team up to 11 later on? Or are you deemed to not be able to field a team, and you forfeit the game?
In theory, you can start a long as you have seven players, and one of the players is a goalkeeper, and add players as they turn up. Whether SPFL rules allow this is another matter. I suspect that they would take a dim view of this, and if they don't already have a rule, rapidly invent one to deal with it. We could always mitigate this by playing in green and white hoops.

So, if we are a goal behind with a couple of minutes to go, do we take three men off and put Nick Ross on?

Do we have to wait until next week to discover the dates and times of the quarter finals ?
I would think so. Obviously the currant buns will be on RBC, but I would think that ICT v DU would be of interest to TV. If Stranraer knock us out, then maybe the Raith game would be more attractive.

It's confusing to say the least.
The tie was Hearts v ICT, suggesting that Hearts were the 'home' team.
We had the Famous 5 stand, while Hearts had the other two home stands.
Hearts wore their away kit, we wore our home kit.
However, the only stat that actually matters is that we won 4-2 on penalties!

It didn't seem reasonable that Stevenson was able to use a re-scheduled game to avoid missing the cup game although I can't remember what his red was for.
Violent Conduct. He had Mannus by the throat
Is that an Edinburgh kiss?
Apparently he was only showing Mannus all the places he could get a tattoo!

I was thinking about kilt-ing it seeing as its our 1st major final.
Good shout!

its funny that not one hearts fan mentions robinson 2 footed challenge, and they say that the SPFL are against them
Harsh. Had a quick look, and there is more reasoned argument than I'd expect over there. Also at least 1 poster thought that Robinson's challenge was worse.

Mr Beaton deserves a stern talking to, but no more than that.
Nah. He was mince. Consistency was non existent. Should be a long time before he is near a game at a high level again. Sadly, it won't be.

Surprised but delighted. Would have been cold comfort though if our nine men had been overcome in extra time due to the ref's incompetence.
Credit though for the appeal system working and for the ICT fan who apparently put up the grand for the appeal.
Do we get the grand back because the appeal was upheld?
-
If there is any justice, Beaton should be reffing an under 9s match this weekend.

Surely a bit more detail on the type/design of flag is required before folk can decide whether to donate or not!!
12th man I'm not for one minute indicating you would purchase a massive Union Jack with ICT on it but a section of our support seem to let's say favour it to other designs
Dougal
How about a union jack, with, just to increase the amount of red you understand, a big red hand in the middle, to signify the helping hand us fans give the players.
We also need a catchy slogan - after Sunday's never say die performance, might I suggest 'No Surrender' because we don't give up?

However, with a venue like Celtic Park and no likely ticket issues, I would suggest you think in the opposite direction ... embrace the so-called glory hunters, welcome them with open arms and consider them "casual fans" as opposed to the derogatory term of "glory hunter". Those 'casual fans' who make the decision to go are an opportunity to increase our core crowd on a regular basis.
Couldn't agree more. Given that anyone who wants to go will get a ticket, we should be pushing the novelty/history in the making angle all we can. Who knows, some of the newbies might enjoy it and return.

A card display would look good at the Final, it looks very impressive when done right and adds that little bit to the occasion
Dougal
After Sunday, I have seen more than enough cards at a football match...

Me + 8,000 others
You only know 7000, stop exaggerating....
If he's been on the bevvy (if? who am I kidding) then that's only really 4,000!

How many do we think we could actually muster to the final?
Lots. Or, if we are lucky, lots and lots.
-
He also talks about " lingering bad blood between the two sets of players ( Aberdeen)
There was the stuff about the lack of handshakes when we beat them last time.

It remains a puzzle why the County floodlight failure game back in October wasn't rescheduled between then and Christmas. There were 2 months with no midweek games at all.
The Gudgies were too busy worshipping the sun to make sure that it came back after winter to rearrange it. Or maybe they want to play it at a time that floodlights won't be needed. Just in case, like.

What's happening on the 19th March I'm going to final on the 16th, :-) don't miss it!!
I am guessing it will take that long for IHE to sober to the point of lucidity!

His tenacity and control at the vital moment was outstanding.
Calm and cool did it for me. In that situation he could have been forgiven for losing control and muffed it.
That was simply terrific piece of skill.
Would have been easy to panic or snatch when first shot was blocked, but he kept a calm head. How long did it take for the ball to cross the line! I have never felt time slow like that ever!
-
There are enough Midweeks to sort this just - if Saturday leads to a replay that could make it harder. If ourselves and Motherwell are comfortably top 6, we could play one or both of those after the split as it would have no impact on the split. Although it would be weird to play the same team multiple times post split.

The annoying thing is that both Warren's yellows were ridiculous. The first was soft, and the second was a foul by Watkins, but then if Watkins had got booked for it he'd have been of instead.
Didn't have a problem with Watkin's booking, he tripped the guy who had got away from him.

Getting to our first major final means that yesterday was always going to be a special day.
The manner in which it was achieved means that it was a legendary day!

If we were still level on penalties after our 9 remaining players had taken theirs, what would have happened, as Hearts would still have had two players?
Hearts had to nominate two players who wouldn't take part.
