I think that's a wee bit harsh there CableGuy. They have brought in 9 new players in the last few weeks which will always be the priority. No players, no team, no anything lol.

Interesting points raised above. Maybe another shop in Academy Street then. The one across from Craigdon Mountain Sports which was a skateboarding shop. Smaller and less outlay etc?

It was meant a bit tongue in cheek really, but my point is over the years just like with the existing shop, the facilities the state of the stadium the car park etc.... Yeh I know they have spent what they've had to on players managers etc, but as far as anything extra or investing in long term projects or community it just dosent ever seem likely

  2. I always feel with vigurs he acts like a big name player, who almost feels he's better than the club he's at. Not just on the pitch but any meet and greets I've been to, more often than not he's never there and if he is, he vanishes like a puff of smoke as soon as he can. On the pitch I've always thought he performs well on the big games, but again on the smaller games and I'm talking the killies the particks etc no longer smaller games, he would look largely disinterested. I find it amazing that a player like him with his obvious talent and potential that he would be looking to really stand out and make a name for himself as it could be his last year and he could be back to Highland league level. His attitude and temperament does him zero favours.

  3. According to HN Elbouzedi out for 2 months and players carrying knocks this week are fonners, cammy, Brad, vigurs, Elsdon and Baird. That was why the Clach game was cancelled, not looking good for the start of the competitive fixtures in 2 days time

  4. Thought it was really poor, Elgin looked a very pacey, solid organised unit, we on the other hand looked to be playing second fiddle to just about everything. We looked totally outclassed and out muscled and certain players should hang their heads in shame tonight, one in particular... Polworth. Thought he was shocking today, looked clueless at times and his 2 free kicks into the box were laughably amateurish. Thought Calder was the one standout player for me, vigurs was also poor did little apart from walking about moaning and shouting at everyone.

Has it been confirmed that we have signed elbouzadi (sp)? I was sure that I read it a few days ago.

Terms were agreed, but no official signature as yet.... Sounds 99% though

  6. Sounds to me like the club are trying to show the fans a sense of fight and resistance, but ultimately I'd be surprised if there's not already an agreement behind the scenes. It'll all come down to whether or not Draper feels it's a good move for him, money wise yes... Top flight football yes... But to leave a club very close to his heart when they are in a great position potentially with the management of Robbo and the type of players he's able to attract and the strong liklihood of being involved with a team pushing for promotion and the attention that will bring... No! I don't think any of us know Drapers thoughts but reading between the lines I would say he's got far too much integrity and respect for ICT and the fans and himself, to simply hop across the bridge for a wage similar to what he's on now, especially when he's so obviously held in high regard by Robbo and the club

  7. Still showing Oakley as a Trialist.... Sone new names on there, Alex Cooper.. Is that the son of ex county manager Neale? I see as reported last week too Riccardo Calder is here on trial too

    Any word about Cammy Mackay?

Last I heard the club were speaking to him but that was a while ago.

I thought this could be his breakthrough season, but perhaps not.

He's been offered and accepted a 1 year deal

  9. Thought No 3 Chalmers looked decent and solid, a good replace for Tremarco to start us off.... Davidson looked threatening until he went off injured looked a sore one, hope not as bad as looked, thought No 17 Fit looked very confident and quick and was terrorising their defence at times, a bit Mulraney esque with slightly more end product, Oakley looked decent too, thought Ridgers for me looked strong and commanded the area well. He committed himself to high balls and was confident in and around clearing his box

FFS, between Boden and Doumbaya, combined with the freezing out of Fisher until the end, Richie really screwed up. A couple of decisions which probably cost us staying up. Facepalm.

Yeah and the worst thing about him, his biggest mistake and ultimate fail was his complete and utter refusal to believe that even when it was blatantly obvious to everyone else, internally and externally that his players and tactics weren't working, that he might have been wrong. His stubbornness and pig headed determination to see it through in his own vision single handedly cost us our place in the spl

  11. In todays P&J, Bodens departure confirmed for one thing

Caley Thistle manager John Robertson hopes to add up to five new signings to his squad next week.

Inverness have a squad of 13 for the upcoming Championship season following the release of attacker Scott Boden, who has been freed from his contract with two years remaining.

The Highlanders’ only signing of the summer so far has been former Falkirk forward John Baird but Robertson is optimistic he is closing in on fresh additions.

One of them looks set to be former AFC Wimbledon attacker George Oakley, who has been offered a one-year contract, while Robertson is also running the rule over former Coventry midfielder Ivor Lawton, who has arrived on trial.

Robertson said: “Hopefully by this time next week we will have another three or four, or possibly five signings.

“We can then start getting into the nitty gritty of who is going to play, and who is showing enough to start the games. But I’ve been encouraged by the quality of player we’ve attracted and are very close to signing.

“We need to bolster what we have here. We have a really good squad of players, good experience and good ability.

“We need to add the finishing touches to that.

“Right now, our priority is defence. We think we’re over the line with two defenders who will be joining us this week to create that competition.

“We’re very close to getting another young lad on loan.”

One of Inverness’ new additions will be former Ross County and Partick Thistle goalkeeper Mark Ridgers, who is finalising his move to Caledonian Stadium after agreeing a deal with Caley Jags.

Robertson added: “It is all agreed with Mark and we’re just waiting for the final aspects of it with his agent. He adds good competition there. When he played with St Mirren three years back he was their player of the year in the Championship.

“Mark’s at an age, 26, where he has flitted about and apart from that one season at St Mirren hasn’t nailed down a regular starting position. That’s up to him. He has to come here and earn it.”

Robertson says the wages freed up from the departure of Boden, who failed to make an impact after joining from Newport County last summer, will be reinvested, adding: “We are bringing in two players on Scott’s wages, with a little bit left over.

“I’ve been enthused by the calibre of player who wants to come and play for us. We’ve turned down some decent players we felt weren’t quite the right fit

Might be handy to copy and paste as you only get the headline otherwise.

I did copy and paste the entire URL unfortunately the p&j website is terribly slow and takes a while to stop loading adverts and load the articles, that's assuming it allows you to read it at all without forcing a subscription down your throat

  13. Interesting reading on the Mcnaughton situation,

    https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/inverness-caledonian-thistle/1276575/end-game-for-mcnaughton-after-caley-thistle-release/

That's a terrible way for the club to act towards him, surely if finances were suddenly an issue a face to face meeting to apologise and explain is the least the club could have done. Think Kevin deserved more than that given his determination to get back into the squad and his behind the scenes coaching work

  14. Will be overjoyed to get rid of Boden, no matter how bad foran was at getting the best from the players he had, to me Boden just never looked remotely interested or motivated. Terrible waste of money. If true about Raven it is sad to see, however I think he struggled with the pace last season and would be another big wage bill
