As I have said in another topic

White has been top scorer for the clubs he has been with in his last 5 seasons in Scottish football.

Thats not manipulation it is history.

He can only play for the club he plays for and that one atm is Caley.

It appears we have some people who have made their mind up about Jordan and will not budge or give him credit for much at all.

White has been top scorer in five seasons for the clubs he has been in his last 5 seasons in Scotland, whether you like it or not, ot are just too stubborn to accept it.

    Stirling Albion 2 seasons

    Livingston 2 seasons

    Caley  1 season

White can only play for a team who signs him with his teamates at that specific time .In doing so he has played for 3 different clubs and has been top scorer with them all. Thats all the guy can do, we know and he knows he aint a superstar but Caley isnt Barca either.

So your comment is both stupid and derogatary to a young man that is doing his best at a club you profess to support.

A wee bit more respect for a decent guy who pulls your shirt on is maybe in order.

Your table doesn't prove anything. To many variables to say white is in top 5 for this division. He isn't our top scorer this season we have two midfielders providing more goals each. We need a striker and white is not it. He is slow. Cannot take on defences. Useless in the air. Does not have the ability to run at defences. I'd rather todorov got started every week.

nah you are right the table  proves absolutely nothing

Just you think what you think despite the facts as you are entitled to an opinion, so am I but I just happen to back it up with stas mate.

The lad has scored over 100 goals but some on here say he isnt a goal scorer , he was out top scorer last season and most  likely will be again , but hey you carry on with your negativity,

What an idiot I am thinking that people would maybe just for once give our player some credit.

That chart will look even more appealing next year when all the Dundee United players aren't on it...and therein lies the major flaw in the chart - it's the also rans, the nearly made it's, etc.

All the teams of the past 3 years with the best goalscorers don't show up on it because they won the league.

Even the fact that shankland & Dobbie have been scoring regulars they weren't the top scorers in their respective years (until now).

So if you were to build a more complete picture,  including the title winners of the last x number of years you would paint a picture that doesn't really need to be painted because we can see week in week out where our strengths & weaknesses are.

I can see where your coming from but its a snapshot of the championship atm

I was at Ayr on Sat and all I heard around me was encouragement for Jordan. As for Rooney some players will always catch on with fans more than others.

There was loads of encouragent on Saturday no doubt about that. The away fans are always fantastic.

It’s been pretty obvious that we have lacked firepower up front since the start of this season.

Jordan is a very honest player but is not a goal scorer and is not a target man in the traditional sense either.

If we had a Shankland up front we would be a shoe-in for 2nd and possibly be able to challenge for 1st.

I think the following chart proves your theory wrong.

    Ive highlighted White and Keatings

This chart is made up of the current top 20 goalscorers in the Championship for league goals only.  both players are in top 5 over last 6 seasons for scoring and also in top 8 for ratios. This season we dont seem to be getting enough from both players, but they are proven goal scorers. Maybe we should play both together as a front two to see if that will click.

Interesting to note the top scorer is Dobbie but Queens are not in the premiership, so it takes more than scoring goals to get promoted. Its a team game and that makes the transfer of Donaldson and McCart at this time all the more annoying.

Maybe its time for all our fans to get behind White in the same way we do with Rooney, dont you think the fans chanting his name hasnt  helped big Shaun become a better player.  I think some fans have got into their heads that White is rubbish and we can get so much better. Well the chart proves he has nothing to prove in the Championship. Some of you maybe will still think he is a big donkey but he is our big donkey who can help us to promotion imo. We are in a battle in the next few months lets stick together for a push for promotion.

Harper is a very good player. We should be pleased he is back. We can but hope there is a real coming together of the group of players we have. Financially we need to accept the position and maximise the options we have.

Great post its all about character now from management players and fans, lets all stick together to get  into play-offs.

Maybe Todorov will drop into CB as he has seemingly played there before.

Looked at Toddy and Whites wikipedia and according to this source both of them have played centre back Toddy with Cowdenbeath and White with Wrexham.  So although we are thin on the ground with the loss of Donalsdon and McCart we could use White or Toddy possibly at centre back if needed.

Are you saying "I'd rather have White and Todorov than a striker who scored 20 goals at this level last season and who is an ICT legend because even he couldn't sort out the mess Foran got us in a few years back"?

    Okay.

I agree with you regrding Mckay he would be a good addition possibly playing in a front 3 with Doran and White.

Below is what all 3 players have contributed in last 2 seasons having a combined total of 68 goals so it could work.

If we were offered a bag of pic and mix for that pair should've grabbed it! We haven't developed any players since Christie and Polly either so not a good record when u look at likes of Hamilton and Livi on that front

I disagree on your view of White and Charlie but you still make me chuckle with your comments lol

Leaving aside everything else, the utter lack of professionalism in the last two player leaving statements from the club is a disgrace.  We could at least try and behave with a bit of class...especially as we'll be desperate to bring other people in.

I agree it was all a bit brief a bit like close the door on your way out, could be seen as a bit bitter.

Maybe we could learn a bit from other clubs as having a 100 club appreciation of 100 appearances etc like Dundee Utd

However the fans did seem to appreciate big Coll when he was here which is good .

For the record thanks to both players for the last couple of seasons

Coll Donaldson 133 appearances and scored 5 goals

Jamie McCart 62  appearances also another 11 appearances when he was with us on loan and scored 2 goals

Losing both Donaldson and McCart is a huge blow.  Whilst other clubs are strengthening in the transfer window, we are weakening.  Combined with our lack of fire power up top, it is very difficult to see how we will be able to maintain the consistency for the rest of the season to stay in the play off positions, let alone to show the extra quality to win the play offs.  However, Welsh and Walsh returning to the side will be a real bonus and we have a lot of options in midfield.  Both Carson and Vincent have played at the back before so we do have some flexibility to move things around, although it is far from ideal.

One positive thing about this is that the departure of our 2 best central defenders to Premier League sides prepared to pay a fee for them shows again the ability of this club to identify players with promise and develop them.  Our record in that department will attract players with potential to us, but that alone is clearly not going to get us back into the top flight.  We lose our best players when we need them most, but we will only keep them if we can offer them a contract which persuades them to stay for an extra year or two.  We need money for that.

Im sure I read that money was offered for White and Trafford last summer and maybe we should have taken it as holding players back isnt always a good option.

Im not sure we develop the players we just give them a platform to play on regular basis.

Am I deluded in saying that on our day we can match anyone ? The current inconsistency and not knowing what fare is going to be on show is so frustrating. But we will have to go with what we have got.

You are not deluded at all, totally agree with all your post.

Of course I wasn't there I'd have stood out in the crowd girl lol! Footballs a simple game put the ball in the net u win games regardless of how poor the ref is ! Our strikers couldn't score in a brothel been a problem for years thought we'd solved it by bringing back Miles right enough! Need a Simon Murray type where's he now?

We did put the ball in the net unfortunately the poor ref didnt allow it....so its maybe not as simple as you seem to think.

Seen recently that fouls on keepers given and not given is completely random, and that's with VAR, but historically keepers have tended to benefit from extra protection.

Ref has to call it how he sees, and usually he has the best viewpoint.

Yesterday he got two decisions wrong that  had a major bearing on  the outcome of the game. So obviously he didnt have the best viewpoint.

Just watched the highlights. If it wasn’t for the comments of those there, I’d have felt it was quite an even game.

It was a bad goal to concede and Ridgers had a couple of good saves, but we had a goal disallowed for very little, one effort off the bar and we could have had a penalty.

One of those days possibly and we can reassert our place in second if we beat Alloa next week before we have a couple of weekends on cup duty.

I was there and thought it was a fairly even game too, Ayr had more chances but only scored through a defensive error, and had we been given the decisions that should have been given we would have won the game. Sometimes I wish Robbo would see that and offer encouragement to the players rather than constantly see everything as doom and gloom fo us and praise the opposition to the hilt.

Certainly if you listened to our managers comments Robert you would have come to the conclusion we were well beaten, Ayr United in their own highlights gave a better reflection on the game than Robbos comments imo.

There was no reason for him to chalk off our "goal"  Just my opinion.

Was talking to some Ayr fans at the game and they were as baffled as me why it had been ruled off.

    Sucks to be right.

Good luck to him. I wish people would stop all this 'snake' and 'traitor' rubbish. In the real world no-one bats an eyelid if somebody switches job for a significant pay rise and a promotion. Why should it be any different in football?

I'm intrigued as to what the fee was. Given the time remaining on his contract £75k would be crazy...but so would us letting him go for peanuts. It would be a very Roy MacGregor thing to do to pay us a decent fee to make sure County get Donaldson now and to offer us a bit of charity as well (how depressing though!).

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Coll rebuild his career with us. He came here for buttons for the first few months to try and turn things around and totally earned the contract he got after that. He's been one of our best players for the last 2 years. He's also earned the chance to play at a higher level again and there are certainly no guarantees he'd get to do that with us. I hope he does well at County, except when he plays us.

And I hope to god that Lewis Toshney can fill the gap...

    Very sensible post.

    Totally agree

But to be fair re the traitor and snake posts its a football forum so we all know that we are not the most rational when we post on here at times, but its opinions and everyone is entitled to have them.

But Im in your camp with this one and thank Coll for his efforts while here.

  19. Not sure I  agree that a player with a  PCA is not going to give their all, Polly signed one last year and imo he gave good performances until end of season.

However dont understand why the club cant offer them a far better contract if the club goes up to the premiership and at least then there is the incentive to stay with us and get us promoted.

I am assuming that what we are offering isnt very good even for the top flight.Coll maybe should consider that all is not always rosy with County as looked what has happened with Joe Chalmers not getting as much game time.
