  6. One of those bands who have become a bit mixed up over the years. Formed 1967 with Les Holroyd, Mel Pritchard, John Lees and Stuart (Woolly) Wolstenholme. In 79 Wooly decided he'd had enough so band became a threesome. 98 they decided to split to pursue solo careers. John Lees produced an album called Nexus with the help of Woolly, Craig Fletcher and Kevin Whitehead. They called themselves BJH through the eyes of John Lees. In the meantime Les Holroyd and Mel Pritchard produced an album entitled Revolution Days. They called themselves Barclay James Harvey featuring Les Holroyd. They done a few gigs in europe before Mel died of a heart attack in 04. I believe the band you guys seen is ' John Lees BJH'. Bet your all impressed by that. :003:

  9. Sandy, you obviously feel very strongly about this so why not write to the editor of the papers concerned. You may even get a favourable response.
  10. Just what I was trying to say Charles, though perhaps not in such eloquent words. And for those interested folks who think all the papers bar the Inverness ones serve little hamlets. Please note, the little hamlet served by the Northern Scot (Morayshire) has the biggest circulation. Must admit though that I'm not quite sure what the two columns tell us. Is one the circulation and the other the potential readership. Perhaps Charles could provide the answer. 16. Have to agree with mainstander here Sandy. The Courier is an Inverness local paper. The Rosshire Journal is the Dingwall equivalent. the Courier is not being disrespectful or snubbing Ross County. It is just not taking the big story away from it's sister paper. The courier did report RC's success but its editor, had he made a big spread of it would probably have been slated in the journalist world for stealing the thunder from his counterpart at the Journal. The Northern Scot (Elgin), Forres Gazzette, Lochaber news, Caithness Courier etc, probably had the same level of reporting of this story as the courier had. They are all local papers providing local stories about local topics and local people. If all of those papers were going to make big stories about the same subjects then there wouldn't be any need for them all. Scottish Provincial Press Ltd could just produce the one paper covering everywhere. Yes there are RC fans in Inverness. The Ross-shire Journal is also available at quite a few Inverness outlets.

  19. Libero, I dont think anyone is saying they have nothing to do. What I think is that the players who's homes are in the central but who spend Monday morning to saturday night in Inverness dont know, or socialise with, people from the area, other than those whom they work with all week, so when they do go out to do other activities, be it golf or a beer in the evening or whatever, they do it with the those same people and so develop more of a bond. I reckon that is what Strach meant in his comments.

  22. If you read between the lines you'll realise that he's making excuses for when we beat them. To be honest I dont think he is being condescending in any way. He is just stating some facts about why our players bond so well. There is no other attractions or distractions so the players from outside the area will tend to stick together and socialise together during the week.
  23. cloudi, now thats original. Not been called that before..........at least not for forty years.
