  1. I have a soft spot for Recreation Park. I did enjoy a visit to Tannadice when it was old school. The terracing was a fair old gradient back in the days of Jim Maclean and his 10 year contracts.
  2. Except for the Edwardian Bears, they're stuck in the 17th
  3. Thanks for the advice Scotty I took a punt and my Errea hoodie arrived today .. I'm 100% with the style, quality and thankfully the sizing. Here's hoping the new Puma range will be a huge success as a decent merchandising return will be very handy. It sounds as if we're off to a good start with shirt pre orders.
  4. Looking at the sizing advice it mentions the Puma sizing is almost identical to last years suppliers. I was checking out the Errea merchandise sale and I had read somewhere they are smaller sizing and recommend going up a size. My indecision is final. Can anyone confirm whether our Errea merchandise is smaller sizing ? Who said online shopping was the way ahead .. confused.com, thanks.
  5. Thumbs up on the new top. Puma are a solid brand going back to at least the seventies when they made a solid wide fitting football boot in trendy black before the word metatarsal was in the footballing vocabulary. Don't recall shirt offerings back then though the market was dominated by Admiral & Umbro & the odd bukta top turning up at the Hilton Church jumble sale.
  6. I'm beginning to think Traynor & his random word generator is currently freelancing across a plethora of football clubs
  7. Given the economic post covid projections are distinctly bearish ( no Rangers pun intended) a football finance think tank might be the priority.
  8. If most of the major players get what they want it then leaves Rangers championing an appeal if they follow up on their smoking gun claim. They're not shy of a legal battle albeit King has gone but would it stop prize money being paid out in the top league until any legal challenge was concluded. Ironically with the biggest overheads outwith Celtic they can ill afford to wait for prize money. I'd be surprised if the authorities don't have a disclaimer in place to ensure payments kill any likelihood of legal proceedings.
  9. I'm a new member on here CT so thought I'd offer my 'newbie' perspective. I am on facebook & would certainly join the group but what I do observe is the interactive culture on FB has come across more confrontational in recent years rather than collaborative (in general) & trollers are increasingingly prevalent. I suppose the question is what would a FB group offer that CTO doesn't or can't already provide ? From what I see this is a positive forum. Anyway good luck if you go ahead.
  10. I totally agree Stevenson & Taylor were fantastic signings for the Jags team of the mid 80s and a big loss to Clach. Bain and Noble were both originally in the Telford St youth league set up during the early 80s ( as was Charlie Christie & Danny MacDonald) but very few youngsters broke through directly into their first team. Stevie Polson being an obvious exception. Neither Thistle, (ñor Clach) had any significant youth structure I can recall during the 80s which could have kept the team progressing. Billy Wilson was a very consistent performer for us too.
  11. Thanks Jaggernaut from a personal perspective it would be informative to see the exact lineup. My first ever game was the summer 76 friendly with Celtic during the 76/7 pre season. I know that nights lineup courtesy of the facebook page for Inverness Thistle memories so it would be interesting to contrast the lineups 18 months apart. ( also apologies to bmills I'm not trying to hijack your thread)
  12. Thanks for the info Jaggernaut. Sadly didn't get a programme.
  13. Would anyone on forum hold any match info as far back as the late 70s or have amazing powers of recall ? My first Inverness derby was in 1977 or possibly 78 at Telford Street. I think a cup match, certainly a big crowd. I remember the Howden End was bursting at the seams & some of my school mates jumping about on the pitch before kick off. It was a resounding win for Caley 5-0 or 5-1 .. I grew up in Hilton a Thistle fan but Caley were very strong at the time. What I do remember is the 'responsible' adult with me took in a carry out ! I did have a google but can't pinpoint the game in question. Any info gratefully received thanks.
  14. Like MJ I haven't purchased a season ticket for a number of seasons. Shifts initially caused me to not renew & eventually I just filled my time with other things as my circumstances continued to change. I still live close enough in Nairn so I intend to come back regularly as soon as football resumes. I've realised with the financial fallout each fan coming back that can afford to could make a difference across all of Scottish football.
