Damn, we are unlucky this season!

    Really?

I'd say that we've been extremely lucky.  I posted on the Accies thread that I am of the view that the injury situation is one of our own making, and I stand by that.  Further highlighted by, and as has been pointed out by others, the fact we can't even show any kind of caution when it comes to removing injured players from the park.

All things considered, I'd say that we are VERY lucky to find ourselves top of the league.

Looking at the game specifically, and King Billy's comments after.  Why did we start with a new/different formation?  He's been banging on about how hard it has been to get players training.  Surely in that scenario you stick with what you know and what you've been working on the most?  He seemed to be shocked in his post match dithering that the players didn't just magically take to playing the 3-5-2 and he had to change it to the more familiar.  Duh!!!

The cracks are also starting to show in the 'players are good, honest, hard working laddies' p!sh that he churns out for every interview with criticism of players starting to creep in.

One last thing.  What happened between him and Ridgers?  Thought Ridgers was going to go over and lamp him at one point and it sounded like King Billy was threatening to hook him.  He even sent Cammy out to warm up in a petulant attempt to try and make some kind of point?

Glad to get another point on the board, but we're not seeing the kind of performances that will continue to draw the crowds.  Speaking to one family near me and the father was saying they are almost having to drag the kids out to games because they find it boring.  As it stands, they're probably not going to renew for next season, regardless of where we finish in the league.  Struggling to disagree with him and feeling a bit the same.

  3. As I have said before, the injury situation is one of our own making as we sign way too many injured/injury prone players.  Of course there are players with injuries who don't fall into that category, but it's a strategy which will always leave us vulnerable, so we can't act all surprised and 'poor us' when it bites us on the ass.

What worries me is the comment by Barry Wilson that we have been playing players who are not fit.  Setting aside the welfare aspect of such a thing, and the idiocy of admitting it publicly, it can (again) be no surprise that these guys then get injured so quickly again.

Finally.  Is it just me, or have we been picking up more strain related injuries since we employed a dedicated sports scientist?

  4. Worrying to hear our CEO saying that the main reason we're keeping our head above water right now is because we're running extended lines of credit....i.e. debt.

With two of our main benefactors due to stand down from the board at the AGM it doesn't look at all good.

  5. I only caught the second half due to work, but a win's a win, so Long Live King Billy!!

My thoughts on the injury point raised above are as follows:

How many seasons have we now started with a worrying injury list?

How many seasons have we now finished below where it was expected?

How many seasons have we then placated ourselves over those shortcomings by saying it'll be better next season without the injuries?

Maybe if we stopped signing already injured/injury prone players then we might get on a bit better in that regard, no?

Those running the club are as bad as the Tories.  They make a few tweaks, claim everything is new and great, then rinse and repeat when it turns out nothing is any different.  What's worse is that we are all mugs and lap it up without question time and time again.

  6. Glad to see people posting.  Thought the site must have gone into lockdown as a mark of respect as a post of mine disappeared from last week and no other content was appearing.

Football in this country was correctly called of in my opinion.

The sad reality is that fans from some clubs maybe not them all would fail miserably to observe a minutes silence which says a lot about the society we now live in.

Disagree.  The reason the world's in such a mess is because we keep pandering to/catering for the lowest common denominator and knuckle draggers.

Feels like Keith Haggart might be the person getting thrown to the wolves here whilst the ICTFC Chairman and Concert Company Director, Ross Morrison remains in hiding and Scot Gardiner runs around kicking up as much ****, dust and confusion as he can so that people can't really see what's going on to cover his ass.

May I be the first to wish Keith all the best for the future.  I wonder if we might get someone without a Dundee or Rangers FC connection in to replace him?

  8. Echo what RiG said.  Raith Rovers were as bad as Morton, but we got a bit of good fortune with a penalty which lifted our heads for the final push and the second goal.  We weren't tested in any fashion, but we at least came away with a result and a clean sheet.  It definitely wasn't any great shifts in terms of a turnaround in performance and there's was no change in the underlying tactics.

We can have no complaints about the injury list or the effects of it.  We sign players with a known history of injuries and don't sign players to cover in positions where we have existing long term injuries.

  9. Post match comments from Dodds are absolutely delusional, and again there's not the lightest consideration to the fact that our biggest issue is our setup and tactics.

Comment previously about how off field events might be effecting players I think are correct.  As in any work place, when the company appears to be in trouble, the staff start to worry and it effects performance.  Especially hard to ask staff to work hard(er) when the bosses are bringing things down around their ears.  If/when the sh*t hits the fan, it's not the CEO and Sporting Director who will be expected to take pay cuts or be transferred off somewhere else.  There comes a time, and I think we are there, when the players must wonder what the point is of busting a gut when they're being asked to play in a way that is clearly not working, for a club that's self harming and jeopardising everything.

  10. Given the extent of the nepotism at the club just now, I imagine Bully Dodds, Robbo and Gardiner would all need to be "asked to leave" together.  You could probably throw Wilson in to that as well, or might he be seen as the cheap option replacement?

I imagine it's all pretty academic as all of the above would need pay offs and we don't have a pot to **** in.

    😂

Not that John Brown, it might be better if it was!

I meant the John Brown that is Scot Gardiner's business partner in their separate events company called The Longest Forty.

I wonder if they are due money from the concert company?

Ach, let it go.  Fans don't want to believe it when those charged with looking after the club get up to ludicrous nonsense that threatens to do it harm, and sometimes it sounds so ridiculous that it's impossible to believe until more legit sources than some stranger on the internet presents them.

There's more worrying comments on this thread, such as those hinting that it might have been ok to run up huge debts so long as it was artists and the like who will suffer the loss.  It's that kind of attempts at justification that leave the door open for people capable of these things to get a foot in to begin with.

  13. Just listened to Dodds interview and it makes me really uncomfy.

First off, talk about being men etc. has no place in modern society, how about you just ask them to be footballers!!  If they want a demonstration on how to fight for results week in week out, may I suggest they head along and watch our women's team?  It also all seems to be about how older players didn't lead enough and young players were getting overwhelmed, the referee decisions, the phase of the moon and the colour of the grass.  At no point did he even consider that he might have got the tactics wrong.
