  1. Goes to show what a lot have been saying the last few months, and that we are capable of getting results, even with the number of injuries we have.

Hopefully the players can carry the momentum into next week and beyond.  We need a 15+ point buffer from the relegation/playoff spots at the bottom.

  2. Listening to Dodds, it doesn't sound like the CEO is offering any money to strengthen in this window. Can't offer what we don't have, I guess.

A couple of young loan players to develop instead of developing our own is the most we can 'hope' for it seems.

Billy’s hat trick: look at the ground he made up to be on the spot to turn his third in after it came back off the post from Doran’s header:

It’s a pity they’ve not put the own goals on line. I’d like to see them again, particularly the second one. It was a good laugh at the time!

Why, oh why, have we gone back to using the pixelot camera? 🤦

I think we deserve to be optimistic after that result - even we only scored four of the six goals. A win certainly adds some much needed joy from the recent dross. A win like can have a remarkable effect on motivation so who knows what will happen. Time will tell.

If it was just struggles on the park, then I'd be right there with you!

My worry is that if we allow deeply ingrained problems, with team and club management, to be swept under the carpet every time there's a good result then we will just keep spiralling.

That isn't to say we shouldn't have hope, and I'm definitely not calling for booing of players, but Dodds, Robertson, Gardiner, Morrison etc. need to be held to account as they have delivered NOTHING, not even close, to anything they said they would.  Quite the opposite in fact.

    That's not grounds for optimism.

When we pipped Dundee to win promotion last time, how far behind were we on 1 January?

The club has posted information about mascots tomorrow and there is no mention of a pitch inspection, so hopefully the game is not at risk.

In this day and age, you'd think clubs (not just us) would be more cautious of what information they were providing for minors.  We're told not to put even the most basic of child's info online, but here we have; a photo, full name, age, school and all the interests a potential groomer would need to get chatting to them!

  7. Worried that we seem to be chasing young loan signings.  We already have plenty of prospects in that department, what we need is some experienced players/leaders on the park to compliment them.

Actually, what we need is a new leader in the dugout, but 🤷‍♂️

  8. Given how vital Dodds claimed having these youngsters back was, I was surprised to see him comment to the press that they may not even play 🤔. Hopes of a double figure victory have been dashed 🤷‍♂️.

We need the game to be on.  It's ok saying it gives players a chance to get back, but going by the recent expert article on the negative impact of fixture congestion on player welfare/health, it doesn't seem a sensible solution.

There were calls last season for Tokely to be given a shot at management, I think as a result of his extremely insightful comments in the press and on ICTV livestream commentaries.

Who knows, Tokely and Esson could be the killer combination we need!

We're currently on relegation form, so it definitely wouldn't be any worse.

  10. I definitely don't subscribe to the notion that football clubs can do no wrong so long as they appear to be acting in self interest 🤷‍♂️

It's also reasonable to question facts being presented by those who have a history of twisting the facts!

The only conclusion I want to reach is that our club is in safe hands.  Do you think it is?

  11. People and businesses on Facebook claiming that they were invoicing and being paid (in part) by the club in relation to the concerts.  Also, and this is undeniable fact, online ticket sales were through the clubs ticketing account and platform.

On the above basis, there is clear cross-trading and it is hard to argue that club and concert companies are unrelated.

As I said previously, Scot Gardiner intimated on the podcast that the club had been paid for services provided.  Further indication that the companies were related and/or offering favourable terms in their dealings.

Baffles me that anyone thinks this is defensible.

  12. I wouldn't advocate for anyone at the club just now being manager long term, but it's clear that Dodds has become unpopular with sizeable sections of the fanbase and there are stories coming out that he is also not rubbing along too well with the players.

When a fox gets in with the chickens, you don't leave him there because you can't afford to fix the hole in the fence!  You get rid and patch it as best you can with what you have in the short term.

On that basis, we need to use what we have to get through the rest of the season.  From there we can take stock and put longer term solutions in place.

After review of the comments in this thread by the mod team we will leave the referred to posts hidden and post this to make it perfectly clear to all that this is not acceptable.

The posts made had zero relevance to the thread, and cross the line in terms of our site rules. It is clear they were meant as a personal dig towards a club official with no relevance to the discussion at hand. If the poster has a beef of a personal nature with that individual or any other individual at the club this is not the platform for that kind of inflammatory post. Debate the topic, not the person, and certainly not the child of a person who is not even a part of the topic up to that point.

Raise controversial topics if you want - some of these have been interesting, thought provoking and worthy of discussion up to this point - but leave the personal stuff out of it. These have been our rules for 20+ years and will remain so.

Consider this a clear yellow card on the personal stuff. Emotions are running high right now because we do seem to be challenged both on and off the field, but getting overly personal loses focus from the real discussion points that we need to focus on to right what appears to be a heavily listing ship right now.

Your house, your rules, but I did NOT make any personal dig towards a club official.

I think it is very likely that the contractual compensation payable to Dodds if we sacked him would put us into administration.

Anyone who says “I don’t care” isn’t thinking rationally, likewise anyone who thinks Dodds should just resign without the payoff he would be entitled to.

I keep seeing this line being pedalled.

He has 5 or 6 months left on his contact.  If we are so broke that this amount would bankrupt us, then we're heading into administration anyway.  Let him join the queue with the rest of our creditors to get paid and it'll cost less in the long run.

Fact is, he's still in a job because his mates are looking after him, and themselves, to the detriment of the club.
