  1. I wasn't going to start this until the end of the season but I thought I would after I saw the article in the courier stating that Billy McKay may have a decision to make regarding his playing days come the end of the season. We need to wait until the end of the season before we get any news on who's staying etc, especially when we don't even know what league we'll be playing in (hopefully it's still L1). I also don't know who is still under contract as I don't really pay much attention to that, maybe I should . Anyway, we do already know that work is already starting on who to recruit as we have had trialists in plus the under 18s have been training with the first team squad this past fortnight. It will also be interesting to see how big a rebuild we have ahead of next season, hopefully not too big as that would mean that the vast majority will have signed new deals. Finally, this thread can be used to mention any rumours on who we could after but, again, we probably won't hear any until the end of the season.
  2. That is actually a good question but I would suspect he will .

  4. It will be interesting to discover who that could be . I'm wondering if it could indeed be the Cullen businessman David Anderson ?

  6. Now that we know Alan Savage is the preferred bidder to buy the club we can now put the past few years of mismanagement etc to one side and start looking at new beginnings with someone competent that has the club at heart and I am certainly certain will run it very well. As was already pointed out in the Administration thread, work already seems to be getting done regarding recruitment next season with trialists coming up plus in this period, the under 18s are also training with the first team so Scott Kellacher can look at them and see who is capable of stepping up to the first team for next season. Hopefully most of the current first team squad can sign up on new deals so that the rebuild isn't as tough a job as it would have been! One thing that should certainly not be in question is the management team because Kells and Billy have done a REMARKABLE job so Alan doesn't need to be looking at managers because we have one that I 100% believe in to mount a title/promotion push for next season. I am fairly confident that nearly ALL fans of this club will be as delighted with this news as I am because, at one point during this tough few months, I was seriously concerned we were not going to have a club going forward :caleyscarf: : caleyscarf:
  7. I saw that last night but didn't want to say anything until we knew for certain that Alan's bid was accepted etc but it's excellent news that Charlie Christie is already showing he's a better and more competent CEO than he who shall not be named!! Hopefully a vast majority of players now sign new deals and we can get a good number of the under 18s squad signed up meaning that our summer recruitment isn't going to be as drastic as it would have been.

  11. I know I've banged on about needing a "sugar daddy" in the past, maybe not so much so now because we seem to be doing ok without one! But I am 100% in favour of Alan Savage being part of "A Highland Consortium" that takes control of the club because, firstly they'll have the club at heart and won't ruin it like certain previous chairmen and a crook of a CEO did! And importantly, it means that we can continue going down the road on terms of transfers, as we have in the past where we don't pay fees for players and instead look at the free agent and loan market. We've discovered in the past that there ARE good players available even on loan or pre contract agreements so tbh I don't see the reason to change that if it's served us well in the past . Again, I know I've said it previously that we could work on the 8-8-8 formula that Charlie Christie seems keen on so when have I become more balanced in my posts and even had a go at my own previous comments . I think its because I'm getting older maybe .

  13. That seems a very positive update with the key points below making me very optimistic of our future and possibly future success : It's good that we should be able to stay full time if we stay up, that makes it very easy to attract players be it transfers or loans. : It is very encouraging that there is going to be an emphasis on developing our youngsters so we get fees for them, it seems Charlie is a big advocate for youngsters getting game time because it's not the first time he's mentioned that. Though it's gone from the 8-8-8 formula to only 3-4 getting into the first team, surely it would be better to try and develop a few more so that we aren't filling our squad with loanees . Am I being too harsh here regarding the loanees, if so then pick me up on it . : 22-23 squad seems reasonable for next season but if injuries and suspensions occur then we are in trouble . I suppose it's easier with a small squad though as it saves us in terms of finances as we aren't paying for a massive squad in terms of wages etc plus it makes it easier to keep everyone happy as most will be in matchday squads with only a handful not making matchday squads.
