I did. His final paragraph seems to contradict things some what when he talks about "some of the top performers from the season gone by, outwith the usual suspects." Some of these players are the ones who you would expect big things from even if they weren't nominated for awards. Some of those guys are widely regarded as their teams best players or won their teams player of the season.

 

That said someone like Steven McLean at Saint Johnstone would meet what he sets out to do but I feel a large number of his selections don't.

Scott Brown?  An unsung hero?  He's the captain of Scotland for gawd sake!
