Just read an article on the beeb website (HERE) with Gordon Strachan moaning about over inflated wages/trasfer fees and how he cant compete in the transfer market with teams like Hull and Stoke despite having the countrys 5th highest wage bill a few years back. Welcome to the real world!
I agree with the fact the wages and transfer fees are spiralling out of control and it cannot be sustained but, one comment in particular really puzzled me:
"But if we can pick up wee gems like Marc Crosas for ?400,000 then it will help us and it will help Scottish football."
Cant quite work out how signing a Spanish midfielder helps Scottish football?!? By signing foreign players surely this could be seen as depriving Scottish players from firstly earning a wage and secondly giving the player exposure to European football which will ultimately benefit his development and subsequently the scottish game.
