that epitomises how i feel about todays game

    That's Better!!

this is a debate sandy, not an arguement so theres no need for insults. i was there to the bitter end and while i was delighted to see the team attack with menace i cannot excuse the bad defending. do you think charlie and the rest of the team are gonna be happy tonight? do you think they will think the points dont matter at least we scored three goals? at least we played better? i think not!

ha ha, beer is not condusive to spelling i'm afraid i understand your optimism sandy and to an extent i share the optimism as it was good to see attacking football but we cannot ignore our shocking defending.

    That's Better!!

forget the score? how could i forget that winning the game and getting points came second to keeping sandy cromarty happy. at the end of the day all that matters is that we get points, remain in the SPL and then we can think about playing attracttive football

'the defending was bad but so what?' :017: if the defending is continually bad it means we lets in lots of goals which means we lose games which means we get relegated so thats what!! its very good that were scoring goals again but it means didly squat unless we score more than other the other team! thats is what the game is all about! scoring more than the other team!!

What infuriated me was when we played the ball on the deck we looked extremely dangerous but it we only get 5 minutes of it at a time before it reverts to the long feckin ball which does not work when you have two small forwards on the park. Its not fecking rocket science, its common sense. I thought broonie couldnt be faulted for 3 of the goals but the one from Nish (i think it was the second) despite being left exposed by terrible defending broonie should have done better. The midfield today i thought were a lot better than of late and wyness and dargo looked dangerous but the suicidal defending and reverting to the long ball tactic were two dissapointing factors today.

Better in an attacking sense yes but the defending today was diabolical. :008:
  9. Should maybe of expanded on the info to include that its Ross County and not Nairn County. so you think the daily record isnt a reliable source then Caley? :023: ha ha
  10. I agree completely but there's not a lot we can do about it, the last few times i have sat in the main stand, the abuse that Duncan gets is both unnecessary and often un-warranted but it is a feature of British football and theres not a lot that can be done with it. Unless we condone retribution in the form of Eric 'kung-fu king' cantona (which admittedly was quite amusing at the time) then it will continue.
  11. I posted this thread in the ICT forum but if it is deemed rumour then could one of the moderators move it please. According to the Daily Record 'Soccer Shorts' section in todays edition, Alan Morgan will move to County on loan in the January transfer window. I think Morgan has a future with this club and a short team loan move would seem like an ideal move in order to get him first team action while Richard Hastings has a tight grip on the left back slot. Any views?
  12. Admittedly criticism especially shouted at you from the sidelines is never easy to take but it is the nature of the game especially in this country where pundits, the media and fans alike thrive of throwing criticism at players. Having played numerous sports myself i have have criticism and praise thrown at me from the sidelines and its not something you let get to you, you just have to get on with it. As professional footballers they should know its part and parcel of the game whether they like it or not and will have to take it on the chin or ignore it..
  13. What a team!! :021:
  14. Completely agree with Scotty's team selection but would swap Ritchie/Wilson/Rankin so the midfield would be: Hart Black Rankin Wilson with the emphasis of Rankin playing further forward.
  15. Completely agree, Bayne does a power of running, heading, tackling and his commitment to the team can never be in question but unfortunately isn't as prolific as Dargo which begs the question why is it only Dargo that is subbed?
  16. Daily Record Link Following on from the Dargo debate thats going on just now regarding his concern at being subbed continually i read the linked article and thought it sounded like a bit of double standards from Charlie. It is well documented that we do not create enough goal scoring opportunities or create enough for our forwards to work with but it seems a tad unfair of Charlie to issue what sounds like an ultimatum to Dargo in that if he doesn't score he will be subbed. There are other players in the squad who should be scoring but aren't and are not subbed as frequently as Dargo. For example Bayne has been starting a lot of games recently and like Dargo has not been scoring regularly but still seems to stay on the pitch far longer than Dargo. Surely a player like Dargo who, after last seasons scoring exploits, should be given some leeway to regain his scoring form and as one of our most dangerous attacking players surely its better having him on the pitch. He has the ability to pop up in a quiet game and poke away a goal so surely its more beneficial having him on the park. As much as i have sympathy for Dargo's substitution issues i don't necessarily feel mentioning it to the press was the best way to deal with it. This all may be a cunning ploy by Charlie as an incentive for Dargo to score more goals and if it is then fair play but on first thoughts it does seem a bit unfair on Dargo.
  17. Not strictly true, Libero... There has been a few odd occasions over the years when Man U players have spoken directly to the press.... Mind you.... they are usually on their way out of Old Trafford very shortly afterwards...!! :007: Didnt say never, :004: i said rarely, van nistelrooy did it and was out of old trafford quicker than rooney could say donut!
  18. Sounds promising, i await the article with renewed optimism. :021:
  19. I can see both sides of the argument. Dargo shouldn't have spoken out about being the 'scapegoat' and similarly neither should Duncan or Hart have been unpunished for speaking out at their absence from the team. IMO problems, views or grievances with team selection or tactics should remain within the confines of the club and not be aired through the press. If it were me in charge, (which thankfully it isn't) i would of reprimanded Duncan and Hart for their outburst and suggested that future grievances be dealt with directly with the manager. I can understand the players frustrations but looking at the situation from the other side it shows that our players are determined to play for the team which is what we want, however i don't see the benefit of going to the press when ultimately its the manager that makes the decisions and not the press. One thing that i will always admire about Sir Alex is his ability to control his players with relation to their interaction with the press. You will rarely see a man united player speak publicly about problems with tactics, grievances about being subbed, or team selection etc and i think that is the way it should be done.
  20. Ha ha, or i'm sure a cattle prod would liven things up :crazy07:!
  21. Couldn't agree more!
  22. I dont think brew is the solution to our current goal scoring problems. I think we have forwards in the team who are capable of scoring regularly given enough service. I think the problem lies within the creative aspect of our play, i dont think we are creating enough goal scoring opportunities.
  23. Could it not be argued that our team spirit is not down to the fact footballers have nothing to do up here other than twiddle their thumbs and is in actual fact down to a great set of level headed dedicated lads that we have in the team who know they are not superstars and will have to rely on teamwork to get results. Because our players are not paid the same as other SPL players, this means they do not have over-inlflated egos and know they have to work hard for their money and the bonuses which the club offers for winning games and finishing as high up the table as possible. I welcome his praise but i see it more as mind games than general admiration. I know there is a central belt mentality about teams more than 30 mins from glasgow but what that has to do with football i do not know. As a club we may be relatively small in comparison to other SPL teams but we have shown in the past and as recently a few weeks ago at Ibrox, that we have what it takes to cut it with the big boys in the SPL. Heres hoping we give them another reminder that were not some diddy team from the middle of no-where. With regards to the comment about Strachan displaying some knowledge of our team, i would say i should **** well think so, an SPL manager should know his opposition inside out including what players he should be looking out for, so to give him credit for doing what he is paid to do seems a bit obvious to me. As a football fan i could tell you a high percentage of players for each of the teams in the SPL and the players which make the team tick and i would hope that SPL managers would be able to know more!
  24. "They believe in what they are doing, they have a good group of players and because of where they live, I am sure that they bond well together. "Up in Inverness there is nothing really close by and the players have got to get on well together, similar to when I was at Aberdeen and we were miles away from everything." hmmm, its amazing how us highlanders actually manage to live so far from everything! Could that comment be any more condescending? :008:
