  1. friggin nora! why on earth should we cheer on an opposing team? this must be a perverse attempt at humour :017: As long as I remain living I will not cheer on an opposing team of ICT from the North stand! The only possible scenario that i would cheer on an opposing team is if by some miraculous turn of events that ross county make it up to the SPL and the team we are playing need to score against us to send County back down to the first division! with our position as SPL leaders already secured of course! :004:

    Don Cowie

Just read this article from the P and J regarding us preparing a pre-contract offer for Cowie as well as clearing up the situation regarding keepers and Hibs supposed £200k bid for Blackie.

    New Goalie

Is this confirmed or just a rumour?
  4. It may have worked too, according to the rumour mill section on the BBC Website Hibs are preparing a £200k offer for Black! :010:
  5. dislocated shoulder, quick recovery - 4 weeks, long recovery - 5+ weeks. How can you honestly say Dargo isnt likely to score any more goals this season? even if he is out for 6-8 weeks i'd put money on him scoring again before the end of the season. Its not that easy to say lets just get another player, its been pretty well documented that its not easy getting quality players to come up to inverness let alone hold onto them!
  6. Lets look at it another way though, it means we have Dargo til the end of the season and therefore are not losing a striker with little time to replace him! Who's to say Dargo wont score x number of goals for us between now and the end of the season that could push us up a few places in the league meaning more money for a higher finishing position in the league?
  7. Just read this on the Teamtalk website:
  8. That doesn't mean the keeper should be garbage by default. He should be worthy of challenging the number one at the club. If we signed Samson I'd rather have Stuart Garden in goals. if we signed samson i'd rather see grassa in goals!!!
  9. I'm with Kencar on this one, that lineup looks a much more balanced side than of late. we have a very wide pitch so lets start using it with our pacy wingers!!! :025:
  10. Please not Samson, have seen him play a couple of times and he was terrible. We definately need someone new in though
  11. Echoing what morgan spice said i cant believe so many people on here are being bitter towards Mark, he has been a true professional and been a great servant to the club. He has been outstanding for the majority of his 5 years here and for fans on here to be criticising him for moving and wishing ill of his future is disappointing and unfair to say the least. It is every professional football players dream to be playing for a succesful club challenging for trophies domestically, on the european stage and having a much better chance of being picked for the international scene so for mark to knock back this dream move would be ludicrous. I think even though Mark may be moving to Celtic Park to be sitting on the bench in the short term i think he has the ability to challenge for the No 1 shirt in the future and whos to say that Boruc wont break his leg next week or move to a bigger club himslef. Finanacially it is a good move for him as he will be on a lot more money and i'm afraid in this day and age where footballers often struggle to make a living once their football career is over then you cannot fault a player for looking after his own interests. I also think he has a far better chance of being called up to the international set up while being at an old firm club and should his international call up come then its no more than he deserves I for one wich Mark all the best for the future and thank him for his great service to the club. as DJS says our priority now is securing another keeper whther it be a recognised SPL keeper or competition for Mike Fraser
  12. Havent heard of this sitution crop up before. Wouldnt naming a player on the bench who isnt actually present incur SPL disciplinary action?
  13. Have read recently that there are problems regarding naming the required amount of Under 21 players in todays squad. Does anyone know more on the situation or what would happen if we were unable to name 3 U21 players in the match day squad?
  14. if that is why people arent commenting then its a pretty unhelpful attitude to take. going by your theory tm4tj should we just forget about it because its been discussed before? should the club just forget about it too then seeing as the last time they tried to implement an incentive (the polish flier scheme) it didnt really work? ach we've talked about it before, cant be bothered talking about it again.
  15. indeed, i had a look on teamtalk.com and it said a full deal was confirmed but on sportinglife.com it was a pre-contract agreement. the two websites are run by the same people if i remember right! :017:
  16. absolutely there is a balance to be had but i dont think increasing prices is the way to recover lost revenue from falling attendances, that will just push fans further away. Its a frustrating situation we're in because we are such a young club a lot of the current youth in the town are being influenced by parents/relatives who without having an SPL team in their youth have supported the old firm or other SPL teams. Hopefully this is a generational thing though and not a recurring factor. that sounds like a cracking idea and that last part of your post sums up the situation completely.
  17. I've had two links not work on me today too! :008: i thought they were valid points in a valid thread, ahh well...
  18. that link just sent me to the front page of the forums. if you look at the first line of my original post i said that although this was being discussed in another thread i thought it merited its own thread as it is an important issue and the sneck courier article covered a range of topics. i thought a dedicated discussion on low attandances would be a good idea obviously i was mistaken :007:
  19. ha ha, :015: perish the thought!
  20. more info: second fecking link of the day that doesnt work. from Sportinglife.com:
  21. 72 views on this thread and one comment! :010: Looks like the clubs lack of ideas is contagious. Cheers for the comment RiG. :022:
  22. Would hope the Buchanan deal isnt off as by all reports he sounds like a promising young striker. As kencar said, he could be one for the future and therefore not a priority signing target right now, most probably start of new season. Couldnt get the link to work so from the press and journal website:
  23. I have noticed this subject being discussed on another thread and i feel it is important enough to merit its own thread. Much has been said of late about the clubs in-ability to attract fans to TCS and how the low crowds are limiting CC in his foray into the transfer market. I think this is very unfair and if the club think this will act as a wake up call for fans to start attending more games then i think they are sadly mistaken. Fans dont stay away from games because they want to its most probably down to high ticket prices, numerous hassles getting to/leaving/parking at games or ticket availability for the bigger games. If you ask me ticket pricing is the major factor in low attendances and i know of at least 12 potential fans that have been put off coming to games due to the high price of tickets. I dont know if ticket pricing is decided solely by the board or if the SPL issue guideline prices but there seems to be a lot of people on this site and people who ive spoken to who feel that ticket prices are preventing them from attending more games. Not even cup games are subsidised in any way which i feel is a big mistake. As far as i'm aware there arent any school ticket schemes ie. reduced ticket prices, competitions or even free ticket schemes and as a city where there has been a huge increase in young families moving to the area in recent years then surely addressing this target market will be beneficial in the short term and the long term. Wigan recently reduced ticket prices considerably for the next 8 or so games to entice fans along and i think its a great idea. I seriously doubt that they will loose much money, if any, by reducing the ticket price as there will more than likely be a vast increase in attendance. its simple economics, the increase in attendance will surely cancel out the ticket price reduction. Scotty raised some very good points about the perceived lack of fans turning up for games on another thread and what can be done to remedy the situation and i feel we can build on this to genereate some viable ideas for club as it seems evident that little is being done by the club at present. The only incentive that i can think of which the club has implemented recently has had inconclusive sucess - the polish flyer scheme. Also I think Scotty's idea of categorising tickets into areas of the ground is a very good one and could be successful if used. I, like most of you on this site follow and support the club as much as possible (in my personal case i have had a seaon ticket for 5 seasons of ICT's existence and make numerous away cup trips when possible) and for fans to be blamed for the lack of transfer activity is a bit of a kick in the teeth, especially to those who follow the club as much as financially possible, but lets not dwell on it and figure out how to solve the problem rather than use it as a scapegoat everytime things arent running smoothly. 24. is our goalkeeping coach really not full time? :010:
  25. Hibs have taken a young Chelsea goalkeeper on trial, hopefully that should signal the end of the speculation surrounding Brown and Hibs.
