  1. Check out the start of this thread. If it wasn't for Rossco we would be a few points better off. Giving away penalties, poor back passes, being sent off....oh sorry I am repeating myself.
  2. More and more on other threads people are mentioning that Barry has still got it but not for a whole game. I agree; he fears nobody and I have never seen him outclassed. One of the reasons he can only last 60 is because he works so hard when he is on! I think we have missed him lately and think he should be a regular starter again with Markus ready to come on with fresh legs when Barry tires. By which time he will have tired out the opposition midfield and defence anyway. I also think he and Ross Tokely have a good understanding. If we are going to persist in starting Tokely there is another reason to start Barry.
  3. Deucher seems to be having a positive effect for them though.
  4. Spot on.
  5. LOL Deserves it's own thread.
  6. But he still cost us the points...again!
  7. We will just have to agree to differ here. Although I agree that McGuire had a bit of a mare yesterday.
  8. ....and another thing. It wasn't that Tokely reacted first but that once he had reacted McGuire (who was slow as he had to turn round and gain momentum) changed track to deal with the threat of the other striker.
  9. Follow this link. Yes McGuire missed it. But look how far ahead of the other defenders Tokely was. Pause and look at the Tokely's static body language as McGuire missed it. Not anticipating the mistake; realising too late that he had something to do. Miraculously he caught up well but was still a yard off the pace and so barged into Miller; watch the replay from the different angle. The referee was right behind him and in a good place to see it. Yes Tokely is an experienced pro who can do some good stuff and came close to scoring yesterday but he does not seem to learn from his mistakes and - as Johnboy points out - perhaps others do! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_AOdcsMN7s
  10. Football is about so much more than merely effort and if effort was all it was about would fitness not be important; not sure his fitness is all it was either. I am not talking about other players; I am talking about the man who was out of position (again) couldn't get back in time (again) and gave away a clumsy penalty that cost us the points (again). Tokely honestly used to be my favorite player and my son idolized him but this is not an isolated incident. too many points have been lost due to him.
  11. Sorry IHE I have got to disagree there. Tokely's problem is exactly that he does not make it back and that his clumsiness does not help but drops us in it. His foraging runs up the park used to be useful but now they rarely achieve anything. He is constantly out of position. Yesterday spending large parts of the first half in an 'inside left' (remember them) position. He is, as has been said, too slow to anticipate, too slow to get back, and makes up for this with his bulk and muscle (remember we have always said 'Rosscoe's gonna get ye') but is not clever enough to get away with it. Sloppy headers back (Rangers) own goals, vicious childish sending offs and penalties and of course the amount of times being out of position has cost us mean that he personally has been responsible for too many dropped points this season. On his first game back he made a run up the park and got a rollicking from Brew he then sat back in position an played a good game so I feel we could possibly add lack of discipline (remember that sending off) or even arrogance to the list, if these two are wrong then it must be stupidity! I don't think he should leave the club but he is definitely second choice in my book to Proc who, as has been said, did exactly what Tokely does (but better) and defends. Tokely should be given another chance to show that he can learn from his mistakes but it is starting to look like he cannot.
  12. I follow a team in League 2 and see a couple of games a season. The best teams in that League would struggle in SFL1. I don't think we should consider anyone from there.
  13. A mate of mine -season ticket holder who couldn't make it as he was working but saw it on that santa - said that you could even hear the Caley fans on telly!!!!! :crazy07:
  14. oh all right then...still a bit over excited :crazy07:
  15. 2 examples from yesterday; after a good start where we were all right behind the team we had about 10 mins where Celtic (one of top 16 teams in Europe) got the upper hand and we conceded a few corners (but no goals) on the bounce. Already shouts of "get it together caley this is pathetic" rang out. In the toilets at half time when we were only 1 goal down to the same team and looking good "we are dire...we never tackle their strikers we stand off them too much...(wait for this)...and we have been like it for weeks" I mention that until today we haven't conceded in weeks. Well.....I apologise for being so upbeat!! :sillywave: Tiny club, great team, too many silent or whinging fans. I am just thankful for the boys in Block G. Great Drums yesterday.
  16. Jammie!! I really don't get it. We hammered a team who are in the last 16 in Europe. Their 2 goal were agains the run of play in a cruel 2 minutes. Don't listen to Strachan...we were immense.
  17. I agree CaleyD; Proc took one for the team. I am sure that would have been goal and it is reasonable to say that he secured us the points. Rosco did some good stuf but for me Proc is now the man. Lets face it; who in the SPL wouldn't love to Have Tokely, Wilson and Bayne on the bench as options?
  18. Blimey..... :crazy07:
  19. oh
  20. eh?

    Marius

Rankin was my MoTM as well
  22. Just posted about team spirit and wanted to add that I have never heard so much noise from us before. Well done the boys in block G...and I even heard the sweetie rustlers a few times. :clapping03:
  23. Johnboy mentioned on another post, but I thought it worthy of its own thread, that we seem to have got team spirit back into the club. Hibs were IMO not a bad side. In the first half they gave us very little time on the ball and this lead to a few poor passes by us. But heads never went down, there was none of the moaning we have seen recently and I actually saw players applauding each other for attempts and apologising for poor passes. The Defence and Mikey seem to be talking to each other at last and, as somebody else has mentioned, the team response to Marius's goals was evidence in itself. We weren't perfect yesterday but we had spirit, guts and resiliance the like of which I have not seen for a long while. .....which, in my book, has to be down to the manager!
  24. Ditto, His first half save of an absolute cert was awesome.
  25. Proctor had another immense game today. We had our 3rd clean sheet in a row (i.e. since Rosccoe has been out) and beat Hibs. Sorry Ross for me it's quite clear you have blown it. The king is dead long live the king.
