  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/7614554.stm After watching 35 minutes of the worst football I can remember seeing at TCS (last 35) Brew thinks we were unlucky! We had no ideas, no passion, no teamwork. He is the professional and I am just a punter but surely this was not just being unlucky.
  2. Sorry...just realised this has been done to death earlier. Quite understand if this post was pulled.
  3. He was pants yesterday. Knocked off the ball like a lightweight every time.
  4. Spot on!
  5. As I sit in Section G I am fully aware of the abuse you boys have been getting for not singing. I don't think that you should be goaded in that way. But.....you have gone quiet this season. Now there are lots of other people that could also make some noise but they need Leadership...from you. I am one of them; I always join in but would never start it off...so shoot me for being shy! I sit in Section G because it is the only place with any atmosphere. I know somebody that moved away this season and is already moving back. That's down to you guys and I would hate to see your numbers diminish. It's hard when you are trying to get the atmosphere back and noboy is joining and even worse when you are getting abuse but I think that group of...ahem....more 'senior' fans and yourselves could call a truce and get together. In the meantime take it from me that you are appreciated!
  6. It's been the same as long as Brew has been here... Barry Wilson........we only ever look passionate and threatening when he is on....yes he is not as fast as he was but he can play for a lot longer than 10 minutes!! Regardeless of how we are doing, win or lose, you know Brews Subs policy...Wilson and a striker on between 75 and 80 minutes. Tactical genius. Fraser and his defence don't talk to each other and panic every time the box gets packed. Can't we work on this? (I thought Bobby Mann was immense against the Liverpool schoolboys - at last somebody marshalling the defence who were, while Mann was on, first team regulars and who were listening to his every word - people were saying 'get him to lose a couple of stine and come back' I say come back now; if you can read the game like him you don't need to move that far) Tokely IS a donkey...constantly out of position. Procter is far better. The second goal was atypical only in the fact that after he cocked up he didn't give a penalty away as damage limitation! Macguire...always pants, always plays. Long Ball we lose, on the deck we win.... how many times!! Once good players are getting worse, Cowie, Imrie, Rankin before he left, and even Vigurs (the new boy wonder) had a mare yesterday. Where is the passion we used to have? All I see now is recriminations . Finally, well done Blackie, has grown up this season and none of the above applies to him. I think generally we are just not a very 'clever' side. Tactically, managerially and individually. Hamilton were a good side....St Mirren were rubbish...and they beat us!
  7. I think this is a much better Idea than the occasional 'free tickets for all' idea which allows those with no loyalty or interest to occasionally get a freebee and makes me feel cheated for buying a season ticket for me an my wee un. This is saying to those regulars who are thinking of a season ticket but might not, and who have to look after their kids on a Sat, who are perhaps a we bit too young to get it fully, and so what is the point of forking out.... "have a bit of faith, spend your money up front and as a thank you we will give the seats that would have been spare in most games to you for your kids, if they want to come. Now; we don't want to penalise paying customers; and cut our own noses off in terms of revenue, for the big games where that seat would have been taken... however; as a season ticket holder you can get first dibs at buying it and hey...your wee un may want it as they may be hooked by then." It seems a very sound business idea to me that will benefit regular (not yet season ticket) fans and deepen their interest and loyalty.
  8. That comment would only make sense if we were currently, and then finish, 11th. We are not and will not.
  9. Darlington. Darlo lad born and bred and they are still my main team with Caley as my Scottish team. However, I am a born again Scot and my belief that you support your home town team is why I made sure my son became a Caley fan rather than the old firm (which was beginning to happen). Grass Roots football is where it is at. Daaarlooooo!
  10. Beat me to my own edit :017:
  11. My comments wern't meant to be a defence of Brew. Just that I think it could work like this. I would also add that if we still had Rankin and Wilson we would not be having this debate! I agree that the substitutions were too late, although I thought Patti was the best I have seen him this season. McGuire & Munro did hoof the ball too much but, as I said, they were pap. This was not a deliberate tactic and we did a lot of neat passing. I would just say that we shouldn't blame poor defending on formation and tactics. On another point what were those long corners to nobody all about? One more...IHE..what are your thoughts on Marius after today? Edit: Forget that, just read your smilyometer, I like a man who is prepared to reconsider :tic01: :clapping03:
  12. Some people are on here talking about poor tactics and playing people out of position (aka Rossco) and hoofball. I disagree entirely. I thought Rossco was immense today. With Blackie back in the team playing as we did today with such an attacking midfield we just might pull it off next season. There was verylittle hoofball....Bayne wasn't playing :004: I agree that the defence was total pap today. Especially Proc, who just couldn't handle Aluko, and McGuire who is always a liability lately. But if the defence gets it's act together and plays as it can we just might score goals! We scored 3 times today. Also, as an attacking midfielder Rossco was pretty good at covering for his right back....why's that then? Looks like Brew reads this board :023: Not poor tactics today...just poor defending. Typical isn't it? Just as sort one hole the dam leaks somwhere else!
  13. ...........we were fantastic today! Well done Johndo......got the whole ground going....Sections I & J took up the cause. Even heard the main stand singing today. Did you see Marius applauding our effort and telling us to 'up' it? Was proud to support 10 of those people on the pitch today. (Russel your post goal celebration was unprofessional, childish inciting, a response and rude..you let us all down and deserved your booking - The complaining afterward did nothing to help our cause with the ref). Notwithstanding.....after the pants we have been watching, and considering we lost nothing, never been so happy after a defeat..... There is still hope! Mon the Caley...proud to be a Jaggie
  14. Don't get booked again Ian.......I've nobody to send on!
  15. How many times have I got to tell ye....look at my hands. Imagine my nose is Mikey...we're playing THIS formation...
  16. Roll up Roll up....whats that?....no I've sold all the good uns cheap but you can have this lot for a free if you've got a van!...no?..OK wait for the end of the season and they'll make their own way down!
  17. That's ruined the competition...ye cant beat that! :rotflmao:
  18. Not me I am afraid. I was on here defending him to the hilt when he arrived and during the dodgy spell until he got settled in. I then thought I was justified during the good spell. The Falkirk game was the tipping point for me. The stats now speak for themselves. Also, as somebody else has said, the one great thing about supporting Caley was, although there were very few 'stars' in the team, the work ethic, team spirit and never say die attitude made them worth watching. All I will say in defence is that the qualities above seemed to being going under Charlie and were resurrected for a short while when Brew came. But regardless of the history of the recent troubles he is not sorting them and they are getting worse.

  20. Heavy maaan. Must be Easter!
  21. Not long into the Roberson era was a long time ago. Also he is playing right sided midfielder for us very well now...just not supposed to!
  22. I am glad some people on the 'team for Killie' thread are considering Tokely in midfield. Once again the goal on sat was partly due to him not being back in position. On Scotsport (Where it was shown too many times) you could see McGuire's concern as Falkirk approached and he tried to keep tabs on 2 men. Meanwhile you could see Rosscoe unwilling to committ to a run back (as he was either knackered or all out for a win) until it was, again, too late. How many times has that happened this season and cost us the points? However, it is only when he presses that we look like scoring so is it a catch 22? Of course not. Proc has been great and makes Mcguire look much better when he only has his own job to do. Tokely's forays are good and he can 'defend' in midfiled as he did loads on sat. With Tokely in midfield and Imrie starting we have replaced Wilson and Rankin (although slightly different) and Procter has proven that as a defender (and occasional set piece scorer) he is better that Tokely! For my part: Goals Mikey of course Defence: Procter, McGuire, Munro, Hastings - playing as normal flat back 4. Midfield: Tokely, Black, Imrie, Cowie, with Tokely and Cowie as wingers primarily putting balls in for the others and Black and Imrie interchangeable but with Imrie running into channels knowing that Black will cover. All the midfield will be more attacking and take the odd risk of leaving the defense at the mercy of an opposition break but this defence will not be too far up the park and so will cope (you can't have it all!). Also Black will be slightly behind this attacking midfield and breaking up any response by his presence and fitness (if not his tackles!). In front: Marius; for his cleverness and ability to put in a good ball for any of the other attacking midfielders. But lesser pressure on him to be our main threat. I might even give him a brief to be our forward 'captain' tactician' or whatever they call it. At the front: Bayne, purely for poaching. On the bench; Zibi, Marcus, Dennis, Zander, and 'a' defender. That's my ten penneth.
  23. Once again the boys in block G seemed to be getting hassle on Saturday for simply making a noise; and this before the game. I sit in block G with my son. Yes that means he occasionally hears a sweary word, no I don't allow him to swear or allow swearing in my house but it's nothing he won't hear at school. I could move seats, either change my season ticket or, old firm games excepted, simply move to any of the many empty seats in the ground. Why don't I? Because the passion, atmosphere, banter and crack are far better than anywhere else in the ground and sometimes are the only entertainment in the park! We can both sing without feeling conspicuous. Sometimes admittedly we leave 'gaps' where - god forbid - there are sweary words. Would we be the kind of people to get this going in another part of the ground? No...we would feel silly showing any form of emotion when all around us are statue like. There is never any rudeness, impoliteness, antisocial behaviour or any feeling of tension in the area, even when the stewards are making themselves known. If you like the quiet life and were in block G before those 'terrible noisy youths' moved in I feel for you, I really do, but atmosphere helps most fans, players and the club overall. If you don't like it there please move to one of the many sweetie rustling parts of the ground instead of complaining about people who are only doing what football is all about. Hopefully then these fans can get on with generating an atmosphere that helps the boys on the park; who knows, it might catch on... in the future there might be specially designated sweety rustling sections for those with terminal shyness! I really abhor any behaviour that makes the average man feel uncomfortable in public places. Maybe I am not average because I have yet to see any example of such behaviour in Block G. I fully understand the clubs obligations and agree with them as listed in the programme each week; I just don't feel they are breached anywhere near as often as some would suggest. Mon the Caley!
  24. :clapping03: LMFAO
  25. Yep; sort out the pie situation.
