  1. I agree.....and even if 12th Man were right it does not make it acceptable.
  2. Thanks G but it wasn't just one who was talking about Imries private life and neither is it one person who uses racist insults when we play our neighbours.
  3. Swearing I am no prude. I sit in section G for the atmosphere and am fine with the occasional use of the Anglo Saxon as an unintended expletive or as a connecting, adjective, or rhyming word in a song. However, yesterday it was just offensive and not funny: Constant (and I mean constant) 'Imrie you are an F'ing C' adds nothing to the atmosphere, is not clever, and I am sure only serves to fire up the inteded recipient. This is just one of many examples. The constant reference to Imries' private life was the same. There is a difference between clever banter and slanderous base insult. But it's not just Imrie, more and more we are just hearing repetative insults to the opposition, ref etc which make the protagonist sound like an inarticulate idiot. Come on lads....you used to do a great job of livening up the North stand with wit and banter and people used to join in (I know not enough... but some). Those people on the fringes who you are trying to get to join in are just getting sickened by you and thinking of moving...or have already. If you really want to help the club you need those on the fringes, who are not brave enough to shout on their own, to join in. I have supported you on here on numerous occasions in the past but yesterday, and not for the first time, you alienated me. And you are right next to the family section!
  4. Caley D: Putting the onus back on us is not acceptable. This is not Rocket Science, if the will was there we could do this. I feel that the will to do this for the fans is simply not strong enough. How quickly did we put up the North and South stands for premiership football? Most understood the desire to wait until we were sure of promotion before expenditure and were understanding of the temporary journeys down the A96. Notwithstanding this, the speed they went up was most impressive. How come the exceptionally busy ladies in the club shop manage to keep a smile on their faces at all times and don't ever swear at fans? If we, in the Highlands, can organise Rock Ness, Balladrum, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Huge Firework displays, and 2 teams fighting for promotion to the SPL surely we can sort out pie queues!! We could all list numerous ways to alleviate the issue. It's the seeming simplicity of the issue that causes me and others I know the frustration. Not sorting it seems a real snub to me as a fan and that hurts more than the lack of a pie!
  5. I saw that. That's the whole point. She gets her job done in a fun way without becoming over officious....hang on....put her in charge of the pies!
  6. In an attempt to balance the Ying and Yang for IHE how about a positive reflection. The Stewarding has become much more friendly of late and the lady with the permanent smile who sits in front of Section G gets it just right. She is deffo in charge and confident but always treats people with respect, has a sense of humour and never puts anybody's back up. She deserves a BAFTA (Best Annual Fans Terrace Attendant)
  7.   Fair Play. Tidy. Off to cook me own pie for breakfast!
  8. Regardless of the level the positive noise we make which does not seem to change despite the valient efforts of the Section G Lads. I don't think the fans are negative at the moment. Even when we were at 3-3 yesterday and we were all holding our breath I didn't hear many cries of 'this is pathetic Caley' or 'waken up Caley' or 'Get it sorted Butcher' like we have had in the past. I think we just want to see effort and that could not be faulted even at the lowest part of yesterdays game. Effort = supportive fans.
  9. Great game and not wanting to put a damper on these good times but......how hard can it be to get the refreshments situation sorted? Huge queues for over or undercooked pies that mean you either have to miss 10 mins of the first or second half to get served. The price has gone up astronomically for a much reduced service (and it wasn't much cop before). Today in the main stand they simply stopped serving one of the lines as they were 'understaffed' no apology, no solution. People who had been waiting for ages were left to either start again, give up, or the more assertive to negotiate access to another line who had already been waiting far too long themselves. The attitude of the staff to the understandable frustration was one of bad language and hostility. When I finally got served my order was wrong and the pies were way overcooked. The half time queue at the Bridge side was far longer than I have EVER seen it. With a crowd of just 3.5K this is silly. if we can put a man on the moon....we can sort this....if we really care about the fans. A half time pie and drink is a major part of the footy experience. How hard can it be?
  10. Good post. Completely agree. Seconded.... Thirded...... We collapsed after Esson stopped playing and all to often it was due to a packed box, a situation where we always look panicky (defenders as well) when Mikey is in goal. There were rumours on here of a trg ground bust up but how bad has it got to be to make take such an important risk as this.
  11. Lional WAS, at first, unpreditable but IMO he is getting ever more consistant. however, too many minds are made up (horns and halo effect). He did keep us in it on Sat (I was there) with perhaps his safest and most dependable performance so far. IHE, this talk of Granty covering Lional is interesting and I can se why you think that but even if that is the case he should stop it because it is doing more harm than good and as a professional he should be able to see that. Even if this is the case it does not explain Granty's complete inability to jump for a ball either heightwise or at the right time. Nor his constant giving away of possession. Virtually every goal against us in the last 6 weeks has been through Grant's channel. Look at the highlights. Last year when Roosco was caught out of position the weakness was more obvious than it is in a packed box where a couple of yards is making a difference but pause the highlights and you can see it time and time again. My main point here is not the competency of Lional but the lenghty poor spell of the Captain, that is where we may fail to stay up.
  12. Oh dear!.....if you thought that was quiet wait until you attend a normal game!
  13. Awesome day everything was fantastic. Well done boys. Well done fans. One small worry Barrowman Not good enough again. Chicken, slow, no confidence. Not good enough. Just not good enough. Terry praised him on the radio; after saying Dougy was a different class he said Andy was good as well. I wouldn't expect him to slag anybody but I do hope he didn't mean it. I don't know how Andy performes in training or how well he manages to talk himself up but if we wait for him to prove how bad he is all over again we are in trouble. If we drop him now I am optimistic we could do it and stay up. With Rooney (or maybe Odhiambo) on much earlier we may have taken some of those chances and nicked it. I think all we needed today was Rooney starting; everything else was spot on. Terry, read the forum, Barroman is pap and has had long enough to prove it beyond all doubt. But other than that WHAT a great day!!!
  14. agreed! when Cowie is played on the right of midfield (which is rare enough these days) they seem to interlink well and Cowie has the speed and engine to get back to cover if/when necessary. cant remember the last time we played a natural right sided midfielder in right midfield Another fair point
  15. Not the way I see it at all. Spot on...got it in a nutshell...and who is at fault for that?
  16. I actually agree with Renegade and have been saying it for years. Proc RB with tokely ahead of him. Not a dream team but the best use of what we have. The Aluko aside Tokely is one of the only people we have that look threatening up front but when he does this he is a liability in defence. But then, after his performance against the Liverpool youth Team, I would bring back Bobby Mann as well; play him at LCB and Granty at RCB. Can't do any worse that current line up. Might be a pie eater but knows where he should be, knows where others defenders should be and tells them in no uncertain terms to be there. But then; I wouldn't have let so many good players go and upset the moral of the remainder of the team either. The only thing that seems to be working at the moment is the midfield and they are all on their way!
  17. Think your mebbe's being a wee bit naive their BornCaley, maybe your moniker explains much of that but ICT have grown rapidly in a relatively short time as Inverness has experianced rapid growth and many incomers with strong loyalties to their home team are comman place at TCS.I regularly followed ICT and Dundee (I know their not SPL currently!) and know many more with similar split loyalties be it Hib/Hearts /Aberdeen even Yenited :o and of course many pre merger lads who chose one or other OF and still harbour feelings for them.It takes many years and several generations to build a loyal hard core fan base I have mate who is local but always supported Celtic. A couple of seasons as an ICT SPL season ticket holder and he found himself authentically emotionally changed and supporting Caley against Celtic. He is and will always be a Highlander. Now that he has Caley in the SPL Celtic are his second team. I am not saying that people should 'pretend' to care but simply give it a chance; your local football team represents your area, your values, you...it is about so much more than just football! This is exactly why people should support their local club regardless. I am not from the area but got my son into his local team as soon as he had decided to follow one side of the old firm; a choice you have to make as a small boy in Scotland it seems! He is now Caley till he dies!! The problem with Scottish football is the ridiculous old firm or nothing divide which means that the 'diddy' teams have difficulty surviving while every town boasts profitable old firm social clubs. The media should show a more leadership here; I once left TCS on a Sat where every SPL team minus the old firm (who were playing on the Sun) had played and what did Jim Traynor talk about for the whole journey home?.......Bobo Baldy! No mention of the 5 games that had been on around the country. Yesterday the talk was ALL about how Rangers had fared, how to use Barry Ferguson and how this affected the title race and nothing about Caley apart from the the obligatory "er, um, er, and they they go up the other end and score" 2 mins from our 'diddy' team manager. Only an Excuse!! An excuse for ever less impressions more like! Cellic, Rangers, Jim Calderwood (as he is easy to do) and Manuer along with aged old firm players whose impressions now have a personality of their own. Does the rest of Scotland pay its licence fee for this? The plight of Caley, The sucess of Dundee Utd, The move of St Mirren, The sucess of East Stirling....surely there was some comic material in this? Typically the media will say they need to reflect the interests of their customers but this is a copout and the OF could still get the lions share of the coverage with masses less for them and more for the other teams. Scottish football professionals around the world, and particularly in the English Premiership, abound. For such small country Scotland produces masses of talent at playing coaching and manegerial level. but only so many can play for the old firm and the rest leave for more lucrative pastures. Rant over Re the announcer...I agree he is rubbish. IHE for the Job! And while we are on....if the club cares about the fans sort out the pie queues!
  18. That's exactly how I read it as well
  19. Yesterdays match day thread say's it all about the situation at the club. Lots of points with which I totally agree. Both on this board and at the ground yesterday we seem to have sunk below the usual venting of frustration of any fan whose club is having difficulties. Many season ticket holders I know, including me, are really seriously considering not renewing even if we stay up. The atmosphere in the North stand has died completely. The young men in block G obviously having grown tired of being penalised for simply trying to get the 'twelfth man' behind the club. The walk out after the 3rd goal was not just a few individuals. A substantial number left the game with 15 mins to go including many who I have sat near for years who have never left early before. On the board there is an air of resignation that nothing will be done to rectify the situation. Half season ticket sales are massively down. I personally just don't feel the club cares about the fans. Perhaps in the 'business' of football we are becoming redundant. One game from the bottom!!!!!
  20. Don't be sorry; I never looked at it exactly like that before but you do have put it really well.
  21. Somebody else talked about how Esson communicated well with the defence. Great to hear it. Have always thought it was one of the main defensive issues. Now why can't we do this every week?
  22. Last season I was forever on here supporting CB wanting him to be given time; well hes has, not good enough..time to go. We have some great players, we occasionally show how well we can play. It is obviously the tactics and moral that is at fault; the good news is we only need one good manager to sort that, not a whole load of good players. For me he makes it worse by his lack of passion on the touch line or in the post match reports. There some bigger clubs than Caley struggling to get out of Div 1. It's now or never. It is patently not working as it is, nothing to lose by taking the risk of a change, rather that than pinning all our hope on Hamilton and waiting for the inevitable to happen.
  23. Sorry Billy but I am talking about the performance more than the result. I'll admit that in the first half our defense was OK and we were in there half; but what did we do with it? The last 35 mins was dire. Completely gutless and clueless. I repeat its the performance more than the result that got me. See losing 4-3 to Aberdeen last year? Great performance.
